  1. I think Southern Illinois would be a great addition...very strong I-AA football and obviously a strong basketball program. I'd love to see them join the MAC!
  2. Can't wins: 64-60! It was tough rooting for Can't...I want that #1 seed!
  3. I don't think there is a "home field advantage" in track as there aren't many fans and everyone performs on the same indoor surface. This is great for Akron.
  4. 32-29 Can't at halftime even though we know that
  5. http://pittsburghpanthers.cstv.com/sports/.../020607aaa.htmlIt says the Big East Indoor Championships will be held in Akron...I assume this means our field house. That's great for us!Imagine how this helps the university's image, the local economy for a weekend, and any ambitions we might have of joining a BCS conference.
  6. Sounds like something I was advocating for a few months ago! I think it would work out great for both MLS and UA.

  8. I love Pittsburgh, but miss my family...everyone lives in the Akron area. I'm here because the medical research is so great...having NEOUCOM out in the middle of nowhere kills the Akron area in this regard!
  9. I live in Pittsburgh...I'm a PhD student in bioengineering at Pitt.
  10. I couldn't find any streamed video...I'm thrilled with the audio!
  11. http://wemu.org/listen.phpThere is a pull down menu labeled "listen now". Choose your media here and it will open with the corresponding program. The quality is beautiful on MediaPlayer with broadband.Go Zips!
  12. I couldn't agree more.If we are going to be wearing shirts with other schools' names on them, they should be given out to all freshman on the first day of class that read, !
  13. I love the idea of renaming the JAR as Outback Arena!...This is an especially cool idea if we get a new 10K seat arena.
  14. Could Romeo be the next Antonio Gates?Regardless,
  15. ...I love it!Nothing like some good laughs at the expense of a colleague/friend!
  16. Beautifully worded by Rasor!http://blogs.ohio.com/rasor/...couldn't have said it better myself!...in summary,
  17. We just have to keep on winning...if we have a continued presence in the polls, perhaps we'll have a shot at an at-large bid if we don't end up winning the MACC.Just something to keep in mind !
  18. Please see the link:http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/columns/stor...kyle&id=2720581Scroll down to the MAC section.
  19. I should add that history is a relative compass of progress. Those banners represent magnetic north. Without them, we don't know where we've been, where we are, and thus, where we are going. We need those banners back!
  20. I really disagree that these accomplishments (DII runner-up, etc.) aren't worthy of a banner. In building a program, it's important to know how far we've come. The banner puts into perspective the rich history of the program (and more globally, the university) and also shows us how far we yet have to go to become a major force at the national level. There is a Nation member who is currently a PhD student in history at UA (and alum of UT). I encourage him to please use this forum to explain to the Nation the importance and significance of studying history.
  21. Does anyone plan on making the trip to Pittsburgh for the Duquesne vs. Akron men's basketball game on Monday, February 26th? I'm a UA alum who also happens to be a graduate student at Pitt and I plan on attending the game. I'd love to meet up with other members of The Nation to cheer UA on to a victory.
  22. This is a dangerous game in that the UB starters compete well with the nations best as evident in their game against Pitt in which UB had the lead going into the final 5 minutes. However, as mentioned by RowdyZip, the bench isn't as deep as it needs to be to beat UA (as was also evident against Pitt).I still think we'll win, but it will be closer than the Can't game because .We should (and need to) win all games leading up to the next one against OU. One game at a time though...In retrospect, it's amazing how badly those losses to UA-LR and UIC look on our tournament resume right now.
  23. I hope he has a good career and that the men's soccer program continues to do well nationally and to recruit such talent.I never pass up a chance to say that
