  1. Root against Bryant too. I'd love to have the winner of Seton Hall and St. Louis at home for a chance to go to the College Cup!
  2. Indiana is out. They lose 1-0 at home to St. Louis.
  3. 8-3-5 (W-L-T) all-time against ND. We owe them one from the 2002 NCAAT 3-1 loss they gave us in Indiana. I like the symmetry in a 3-1 win today at home. Zips come prepared and dominate.
  4. Under KD we beat both Temple and Florida State in the post-season NIT, but in different seasons. I do not know the years though. In the Iona preview on gozips.com there is an excellent history of MBB's performance in mid-season tournaments. To my surprise, we have won several. It is under the "Regular Season Tournaments" heading. https://gozips.com/news/2025/11/20/mens-basketball-zips-begin-paradise-jam-with-iona-on-friday
  5. That's a completely different scenario in which academics were the priority, and it was pre-NIL. It was also about one in a million that it happened at Akron. Nice story nonetheless.
  6. "...many new faces who are eager to join the Akron Zips footbal program in pursuit of a...University of Akron degree" WHAT?!?! How many players will be joining with intentions of staying four years and earning a degree? They are after the money, the opportunity to perform with field time and prove they belong at a higher level, and ultimately chase the dream of playing in the NFL. Do any guys sign with a program out of high school with intent of being there four years and earning a degree? In football and men's basketball, the days of "student-athletes" are over. I'd be surprised if that the percentage of those who stay for all four years of eligibility and graduate is over 20%. Does anyone have numbers on that outcom?
  7. How are you watching? Via what service?
  8. Bring on Notre Dame! The only way that outcome could have been better was had they gone to overtime.
  9. For many years, I have thought about the same thing on billboards in and around Columbus trolling the brainwashed OSUcks zombies about our men's soccer program being the best in the state of Ohio.
  10. I was very happy to see this. While it is VERY hard for one excellent team to beat another three times in one season, I think UConn has our number. I would be okay with an all Big East revenge final though! 😆
  11. Honestly, I don't think we should. That's close enough that the head-to-head results should be the dominant factor.
  12. We got called for a foul when boxing out at least once...seriously, that's not an exaggeration.
  13. We got homered and still put up 79 on the road at the #1 team in the country. Wow!
  14. We've already put up 70 with a full four minutes to go. Pretty impressive given the circumstances.
  15. I'd say the homering has cost us at least 15 points in the differential, so we have actually played way better than the score indicates.
  16. Cluff is over the back on the rebound yet we get called for the foul. Unreal. As if the one foot height advantage isn't enough? I can only imagine how frustrating this game must be for our inside "big" guys.
  17. Another amazingly weak call on the free rebound on our defensive end. My God. All players scrambling to get the rebound yet the call goes against us, again.
  18. I expected some home cooking, but this is unreal. We can't play the top team in the country and the refs at the same time. It's amazing we are still competitive.
  19. Wow, and that foul on Lyles on the three was so weak! There was barely any contact and it was a brush at the knees long after the ball was gone.
  20. Push in the back for Purdue on that rebound and an easy layup. How was that not called?!
  21. The Huskies just had our number this season. A rare program that we have now played five times and never beaten.
  22. There are points when the possession game is overrated and unnecessary. When you are dominating the game and not winning is one of them. At some point, you just have to let it rip and hope that chaos is the tool of the soccer gods.
  23. that should never be on our schedule to begin with.
  24. It's Monday at 12:15 PM EST, and ... I am taking the Zips 45-17.
  25. Yes, simply due to the fact that their campus is less than fifteen miles away, and at least some of their families, friends, and fans will make the short jaunt over.
