By far the worst product in all of sports entertainment. I've not seen much of it in over ten years.
When I come across a game while flipping channels, I wish I had spent the few minutes spacing out to commercials or watching a tidbit of a movie I've already seen 500x.
Can't State ALWAYS sucks.
It is often said that athletics are the front porch of a university. It is fitting that the thugs of this program represent a corn field college with fashion and "financial engineering" (I mean, wtf kind of fraudulent program is that?) as among their most notable programs.
Prediction: 95-78 Zips. Piggy gets T'd up twice because his players lack the desire and composure to compete with a superior, athletic, and well-coached team. This begins a rough patch in the schedule as Cant's luck begins to run out in several subsequent close games.
Even with bad defense, there is no way Toledo stays this hot for the entire second half. When they cool off (and maybe when we start playing good defense), they will panic and get desperate.
As others have said, this is a trap game against an opponent we do not usually fare well against. Still, we are at home against a MAC opponent with inferior talent into the mature part of our schedule.
Zips win, 90-80, pulling away at the end.
It is amazing how poor our all-time (42-33 UT leads) and recent records are against Toledo despite our being the dominant program in the conference.
It is equally amazing how UT has had good programs and dominated us through history yet has not appeared in the NCAA Tournament since 1980. Baffling!
Just when I start feeling sorry for the UT fans in the context of basketball, I realize there is a football side of the coin, and the pity disappears quickly.
Even if the rich get richer, I think it's good for us in general because it is another potential revenue source. Any opportunity to push us from the red more towards the black is great.
If we play the full 40 minutes, we win. If not, we lose. It's really that simple against teams that have lesser but still moderate talent, especially when playing in Canada.
We could easily (and should) drop the non-D1 games we seem to play every year. They are a complete waste of time, and it's embarrassing that we count them in our win-loss total when they are not fair competition.
I wanted to attend a Zips game when I was in the Akron area for the holidays, but the only game scheduled was against Concord, which is a total waste of time. I didn't even bother to listen on the radio/internet.
He's right that those schools do fit the profile well. However, given the state of politics, I think Senators should focus on things other than the athletic alignment of their alma maters. I'm sure if there was mutual interest, these schools would have already joined the Big East.
