  1. Are there any signs at the ticket office stating hours? If so, is there a note on the sign that says that tickets are also available from ticketmaster when the office is closed?
  2. wouldn't it be cool if you could order tickets for a game at gozips.com and print them off like you can for movie tickets, or be able to pick them up at will call the night of the game?-edited-actually, you can order them through ticketmaster.com and pick them up at will call (I just checked it out by going through the motions without actually buying since I already have season tickets) There's a link on the gozips.com ticket page for "single game tickets" that sends you to ticketmaster.com.
  3. I bet we could get some volunteers to do some razing sooner and cheaper
  4. we are breaking ground in '07, but construction doesn't start til March '08 probably because all the detail design work needs to be done. Someone has to figure out where the pipes, wires, etc. go, not to mention how the thing is physically constructed. A year to get all the details figured out doesn't sound outrageous. I imagine stuff still has to go out to bid to the subcontractors and that can't happen until the details are done.
  5. Hopefully we'll see the final renderings soon! Can't wait to see them start digging!
  6. it doesn't hurt that there are several NFL QB's from the MAC.
  7. I thought that might get a chuckle. But still, why isn't JD, Mack, et al being interviewed about the game on the local stations? Oh that's right, there's nothing going on south of the turnpike!
  8. their local station is also covering it... where's our local TV coverage?
  9. $1 is because it is supposed to be "Turn Back the Clock" night... how far back were the tickets $1... 1950??? Wonder if that means the team will be in throw-backs?
  10. I noticed in one drawing they called out a Nike store... wonder if we are switching from Adidas? Could be one reason for the big sale on Zips/Adidas merchandise. Wonder if they (Nike) would/did give towards the new stadium?
  11. There's a huge block of land that the city owns between Perkins, Market, Rt.8 and Union. I've been watching the news for some announcement of what they are going to do with it. Not exactly "on campus", but not as far away as the RB is now.
  12. I actually got both... my email is on file with the alumni assn so they send stuff (got the e-version of the "Akron" magazine today, got birthday greetings from "Zippy" last January), and I'm a season ticket holder for basketball so I got the card in the mail.
  13. No loss is good, but it's better losing on the road than at home.
  14. Starting away at Pitt wouldn't be any worse than this past year's starting schedule. Having them home to open would be better and would be a challenge and would help get out a few bugs before traveling to THE University of Columbus.
  15. Some random ramblings...Looking only at the stats, they shot the ball pretty well (except at the f-t line), but just weren't able to hold on. The turnovers were about the same as the previous games (not great, but similar to what the other teams turned over). With Wood out, Dru with a bum wheel, playing on the road against a much larger team, and coming off limited practice due to exams, I think they did OK. With a few fewer turnovers and some better shooting from the line, we would have won. Quade is coming along well, McKnight is going to be a great player, only Dru and Romeo leaving, the future is still bright and I still think we will do well in conference games. Let's worry about getting things done tomorrow against St-F first. KD is still the man for UA!
  16. refs definately didn't help the situation, but shooting 50% at the free-throw line is not helping yourself either.
  17. 76-73 Akron3:16 left
  18. refs aren't helping, but maybe if we hit our free throws...
  19. It's a home game for Ced... Zips roll!
  20. Don't forget Romeo's younger twin, Chris McKnight, and the still-improving Quade Milum. I think there are many good years ahead!
  21. prime video! love the theme music too!
  22. Wouldn't it be cool to toss out the stuffed Zippy dolls?
  23. speaking of scoreboard videos... I also liked the one of Zippy doing his pregame routine (weight lifting, running to the JAR, etc) and then appearing live on the court at the end.
  24. $500/seat/year
