  1. good thing to take a note on, a girl from Can't said that her and a friend discussed about how Akron has a better campus than Can't now. She was really impressed with Akron's campus.Akron must beat Can't this Saturday. It really helps with recruiting the local students around here. A win next week and you'll see a better enrollment for next year than this year. It also helps to beat them in basketball.

  2. haha, not enough, i wanted to bring my cooler into the game. I was complaining about wanting another beer. I wish they'd sell beer during the games, they could raise enough money to build a dome stadium with the money they could make off students buying beer. The Irony of life,,,,,,,,,,,, look at Can't. Life's so ironic. I hope we put them in their place next week.

  3. I think that we all knew there wasn't going to be a comeback and figured we had the second string out there getting PT. We were just having fun with the beach ball, stuff like that makes students enjoy the game and keeps them coming back.

  4. In the National scope, it was a bigger game.
Does anyone in Columbus read the ABJ??? Does the ABJ even sell newspapers outside of the Summit County area???The ABJ isn't a national paper. They should be giving sporting events happening locally more attention OSU isn't a local event for Akron. I'm tired of hearing your garbage about OSU being the front runner's team of choice and that everyone in this community roots for the front runner because they have winning tradition and have little ties to this community. I'm tired of hearing you defend OSU's attention on why they should be written about more than Akron. It's all garbage. You wouldn't see the papers in Pitt giving more glory to Penn State than Pitt.
  5. ) Ohio State vs Penn State was a little bit bigger of a game...Akron was basically playing a tune-up game
You have got to be out of your mind!!!! This is the first home game for the University of Akron, that's bigger news than a team from Columbus playing a team from penn. Get off OSU's nuts, why don't you just transfer there? Seriously, this is Akron, not Columbus.
  6. I had a great time in the student section. It sucks that the next home game is 4 months away. I don't know if the student section was packed all the way up or not because it was sitting in like the 3rd or 4th row in the front, but we had a great time. I'm going to try and get a bunch of students together to tailgate for the Can't game, students and alumni are welcome to join us.

  7. we had a lot of students it seemed at the game, where was all the Alumni at??? the home side of the field looked empty. The bleachers were breaking easy. i don't think people were trying to break them, but we tried pulling out a peace that fell through so that no one would stand on it and fall through. We didn't want to see anyone get hurt. The beach ball was fun. My friend actually ended up with it so we're going to bring it to the Can't game. The question is, how are the Akron students going to be seated for the Can't game and how much are our tickets going to be?????????????

  8. Anthrax Scare At Can't State,Can't State football practice was delayed nearly two hourstoday after a player reported finding an unknown white powdery substanceon the practice field. Head Coach Dean Pees immediately suspendedpractice while police and federal investigators were called toinvestigate. After a complete analysis, FBI forensic experts determined that thewhite substance unknown to the players was the goal line.Practice was resumed after special agents decided the team was unlikelyto encounter the substance again.

  10. UCF is also in Orlando, didn't disney donate money for the project? But that means little, Akron has Goodyear, First Energy, and a couple big Cleveland companies like Myers (AkroMills in Akron), National City, etc... I really like UCF's idea. To be honest with you, I'd rather have an exact copy of the rubber bowl build in downtown Akron instead of one of those 2 sided (high school) stadiums. A bowl looks a lot better. I don't want to see another DIX stadium.

  11. I hope it's nothing like that sketch i saw in the ABJ. It looks like a jumbo high school stadium. After Canal Park, I figured we would get something that makes the community proud of. 25,000 is just way too small, if they're going to spend 112million, they better figure out how they can get at least 35,000 in there. With the stadium being ON CAMPUS, and in DOWNTOWN, you have to expect attedance will go up. If they plan on winning in the future, why make it 25,000?? Some people feel 25,000 is sufficient, that's because your thinking about the present and the past Rubber Bowl experiences. This is going to be nothing similar to the Rubber Bowl, it's on campus and in downtown Akron. I'm willing to bet that every game will sell out at 30,000 or more for the first year. Think about 2 to 10 years from now. 25,000 expandable to 30,000 is limiting yourself. Your putting a CAP on your growth. This is division 1 college football, there's a lot of room for growth.
