  1. I care about the QB. If we play people tight into the 4th quarter, then turn the ball over when the game is on the line, we'll go 5-7 again.
Exactly! When the game is on the line, the QB MUST perform.
Actual instances ignored, high statistical late game interceptions to me implies that the defenses learned our routes and schemes and started risking plays on the ball.
  2. I know it's fun to turn the standings into a chess board and consider the possibilities, but I don't see much pressure. Just getting into the tourney with a bye would be great. If they focus on playing one game at a time and let the chips fall where they may, the real fun and pressure will hit at the Q(blatant cliches in italics)

  3. It will take a few years to eliminate all the RB references, like it did with our old logos. Is anything happening with the old lady yet? I never heard if anyone successfully extracted a urinal trough(?)
fox sports still uses the "A" logo.I've actually tried emailing them about it and even sent them a compatible image. No dice
  4. Even if it's true, do you have to put on pom-poms and dance around about it?Brookhart is here this year. So what's the point of all this? If (sadly) we have a bad enough season for him to get tossed at the end of next year, wait until then to dig his grave and dance on it. Sheesh.True story about a "know a guy who knows a guy"...I was doing a delivery about 3 or 4 weeks before the whole Cleveland Browns -> Model to Baltimore thing broke, and a kid who seemed to have a learning disorder was telling me about how so-and-so (someone in his family, I can't remember) knows someone in the Browns and that they are leaving Cleveland. The kid's disability was somewhat obvious, so I was patronizing him with "Really? Wow that's interesting" but not actually lending much credence to it. I was shocked later.Sometimes "know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy" actually has some truth in it....But seriously, If I was JD I am sure it would occur to me even if no one ever even came to me and said it. After your third or fourth year, excuses hold less and less water each successive year. It's just a reality of the business. But let's not celebrate losing... Okay guys? Thanx. If I actually didn't like a coach or thought he was bad, I would actually root for the team to win and for me to be wrong. I would NOT hope for losing so I could be right.

  5. I always though the defcons went the opposite direction, but then again, I'm only basing that off of an old movie.... so what do I know... lol"Flush the bombers, get the subs in launch mode. We are at DEFCON 1"Then of course you have....'Indeed. Some fine ladies here, boys. Confidence is high, repeat, confidence is high.Sherman is moving to DefCon Two, full strategic arsenal ready for deployment."I don't need to cite the movie titles. They are both classics.Sorry about the hijack. You can call me Mister OffTopicI don't think Joe-Akron knows the zips played on Sunday, they were watching Bronzo and Kobeashi.Maybe Joe-UAkron saw a blurb in the buchtelite though.

  6. Gotta think "Celtic" here .. include English / Irish / Scottish / Welsh / Manx .. etc.The Irish didn't generally do the tartan / kilt thing .. and Mc is Irish .. not scottish .. so you gotta take some creative license .. that should be ok?
Yeah I dunno. I was just trying to be funny so.... of course artistic license is in play.LOL I mean all you gotta do is look at the guys to know we aren't talking about actual heritage, just name-play... but what american isn't a mutt anyway. But I always thought Macs were scottish and O's were irish. That must be some stereotype I misunderstood. That whole celtic thing is what I was getting at. Hence the bagpipes
  7. Someone posted about site changes as if asking for opinions.Opinions were givenSomeone posted that they didn't like many of those opinions or perhaps how those opinions are given...... but technically, even that is just an opinion. Now, people seem to be implying that some opinions have more merit.... seemingly from both sides.Oh the irony.Really though, as long as anyone who comes here can handle differences of opinion, it's all good. Right?

  8. PS Also seems like a left hander designed it.
 Sorry, I'm going to try to be more sensitive, I guess, but that was a funny comment.Anyway, let me just say this. I opened it now on my PC with a much higher resolution than my laptop, and after I got the whole breadth, I can say that the layout is nicer than the old page. It has a more rectangulo-tabular feel.Everything else, including the lack of a prominent link column for ease of navigation, and the effusive advertising, is not good. Not good at all.
  9. the links demonstate what you see time and time again from people in all sorts of situations, from politics to sports to just about anything else..... The lesson: Bias dictates how you will view things.Just about anything can be rationalized and spun positive or negative depending on how you want to see it.
  10. zen... where'd you find that pic? Oh... walked by the press box today on my way to work and noticed they got a ton (figurative speech here, not literal) of glass panels already stacked and ready. I didn't expect to see that stuff at the construction site at this stage...
I'll bet there is more than a ton.... not figuratively speaking... 2000lbs isn't much.I had some plans on my comp. I probably pulled them off of a website. I screencapped and cropped one down to a jpg to attach to this thread
  11. Zipwatcher....I had a few minutes, so decided to look it up.Now..I've always been of the impression that Ben has had poor years throwing the ball when he didn't have a top notch running game to back him up, and vice versa. I never bothered to look it up, but it looks like the numbers show it.He had a QB rating of at or near 100 in 3 different years...when their running attack was ranked 2nd, 3rd, and 5th in the league. On the other hand, he had much lower ratings and a poor td/int ratio in 2006 and 2008 when the Pittsburgh running attack ranked 23rd and 10th in the league.Maybe this doesn't tell the entire story, but it sure looks like a correlation.
I see your point skip-zip, because if all other things were equal, I would put Dan Marino (in his prime) on my team way before I'd put ROFLzburger, and Marino never won a superbowl.... but the reality of the HOF is winning, career stats, and high profile games like superbowl appearence.I guess my analogy has holes because Marino is a HOF QB.... but still, the point is, winning and superbowls can get you into the HOF even if you aren't the best.
