  1. I agree with the fact that Ohio is the "buckeye state" irregardless of OSU being the buckeyes. However, Captain is right. Zipgrad01's post practically became a thesis paper without even being double spaced. It's a little scarey how that type of post happens every time. I love the "doughball" analogy. They can't freaking help it.

  2. I know I have seen/read the explanation quite a few times before, but maybe it's the GL christmas ale in me right now, I can't remember why.Something about Akron University sounding to generic, but why did we decide it had to be "University of Akron" instead of "Akron University"????.... or maybe we are afraid someone will mix us up with Auburn University?Granted, it would actually add more generix to the sound of it, but if you want to sound bigger, you can always go Akron State University (yipes).

  3. does not a rose by any other name still smell as sweet?Seriously, I heard some radio spot for a jeweler recently talk about how it's in that spicer village "near the Akron U campus" and I thought to myself, how can you be so keen on being near the University and not know what it's called? But seriously, what difference does it make?

  4. THE ONLY TIME RUMPLEMINTZ EVER REPLIES TO ONE OF YOUR JACKASS POSTS IS WHEN THE IGNORANT PIECES OF CRAP THAT YOU ARE NEED TO BE SET FREE WITH THE TRUTH............FLEMING IS NOT THE GUY THAT BROUGHT THE 3-3 IN....IF YOU HAD THE SLIGHTEST CLUE YOU WOULD KNOW THAT FLEMING NEVER RAN THE STACK IN HIS PREVIOUS YEARS AS A DC OR A HEAD COACH.....MY ONLY PRAYER IS THAT THE POOR PEOPLE OF ZIPS NATION LEARN TO SEEK THE TRUTH AND AVOID ASSUMPTIONS, IT WOULD TRULY LEAD TO A BETTER NATION!!!!!! HOW SOON WE FORGET HOW IT WAS THE DEFENSE IN THE PREVIOUS YEARS THAT KEPT THE AKRON ZIPS FOOTBALL TEAM A HALF WAY RESPECTABLE OPPONENT IN THE PAST WHEN THERE WAS NO OFFENSIVE OUTPUT!!!!!!!HAPPY HOLIDAYS ZIPS NATION AND HAVE A RUMPLEMINTZ ON ME!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW!!! We are seeing history here. I think this is the first time a person has ever been called a jackass for posting a link to a newspaper article on a web board.
my bad.......it was for the rest of you......jackass!!!
You know, I went on record as not being one of the 335 hators and said nothing about fleming, but if he has freinds like you, then maybe he can leave and take you with him. You're a real class act buddy
  5. Bricklayer's Union? Where were they when Hipsher was playing? I doubt all those bricks he threw up was union work.
BAHAHAHAHA! Those bricklayer picketers do some rounds. I saw them in front of the Chipotle construction in hudson. I wonder if the hall pays them as much as the actual laborers
  6. Everybody knows what happened.NCAA saw a chance to move the game, and BAM, they took it. We know what their motivation was. We know they had no intent of doing what was right or doing what was fair.A law existed that suited their purpose, and instead of working with UA and communicating with them, they jumped at the chance to take a loophole option that achieved the purpose they desired. It's over.Time to move on.You can vote out corrupt politicians, but you cannot unseat a corrupt organization.Gotta work with it when you can, and live with it when you can't.

  7. Does he give us the best chance to be successful next year?
That's the reason why I want to give our head coach one more year.I just can't see bringing in someone new and starting over and having more success than JD would. The people who want JD gone just want JD gone. They aren't thinking about whether we can get someone better. They just want JD gone. To me, that is a very bad mindset to have.If you are ready to give up on JD (which some people have been for at least two years... at least... go back and check the threads) then that's fine. Just don't act like we are going to be able to afford a proven head coach to replace him. Dumping JD now means two things1) rebuilding2) unproven gamble
  8. I don't want to see JD go. I'd like to keep him.I'll bet that if he leaves he goes on to have success elsewhere. But he has had nearly enough of a chance. I think all head coaches should have 4 years to prove themselves. In the NFL, 4 is definitely enough. In college, I'd prefer 5. All I am saying is not to make a change for the sake of making a change. That would be a big mistake. If you must, then do it RIGHT.

  9. I wonder what Martin could have done with the talent the Zips have because he obviously knows how to motivate a team.
nice, but remember, when the blind try to stab at the heart, they oft end up stabbing someone in the back.In other words, do you know what you are talking about, and do you know how motivated the zips have been, or are you just taking pot-shots?

zippyrifle32,Thank you for the reminder as to why I moved from Ohio. It's only Thanksgiving and the weather is like this already. That just blows.
    personally, I love it!
I wouldn't say that I love it, but I will say that some people have weary souls, and expect the world to treat them like needy, infirmed royalty. I enjoy my trips to places of mild climate, but I would not want to live there. We are the the ilk of hardy body and psyche. We need not be coddled by our environment. We ask not for each month to resemble the last.
  11. Ummmm....winter has not treated us very kindly so far. Heck, it isn't even winter yet! Are they really going to finish this thing? You can't really pour any concrete in this. Progress looks good so far but there seems like a considerable amount of exterior work to do.
I know, right? Most years we haven't had our first snowfall-that-sticks until x-mas time or later. But I have seen concrete poured in 30degree temp ranges before. They can get mixes that are made to set in lower temps, and then they cover the wall or slab and run kerosene heaters underneath.
  12. Oh BE-HAVE, trimmy10!Do you think we can land and decent D-Linemen on Java, Sumatra, or Borneo?
lol, those big Polynesian type guys who have lots of syllables in their names which also almost always end in "...oa" are usually offensive linemen, no?*ducks away thunderbolts from stereotype gods*
  13. Cribbs is a hell of an athlete. I can't hate on Cribbs just because he made the mistake of going to Can't. lol He has earned my respect. He's not having as good a season this year, but whenever I see him return or go on return coverage, it still amazes me that he was a QB.All that said, I started Hixon on my fantasy team this week and he did NOT disappoint. :DI'm not sure if anyone even has Cribbs on their roster, because he mostly just does returns.
