This is why I said from the beginning (from before the beginning, last year, when fingerhut was already spewing political crap along these lines) that this is ALL about POLITICS and has little to do with serving the PUBLIC. Making a move like that isn't a coin toss. It would be a deliberate attempt to avoid the efficiency and other bullcrap you claimed to strive for and play power politics.... which is exactly what I said this was going to be about from the beginning.I would not put it past Columbus to make Akron a branch campus of CSU. I am one of the people that believe a strong University is KEY to a cities future. With that said, Cleveland holds more sway than Akron, and the powers that be would be more than happy to sacrifice Akron to help out Cleveland. All the downsizing would take place in Akron and the administration would move to Cleveland. -

that's sorta why I was voting for Monte last week.I heard someone mention that they were making a push and they were also voting against zippy.I figured, if I help Monte, then they will lay off their voting and it wont handicap zippy so mcha problem with this strat is that it helps their overall vote tallies. So, not only are they favorites in their head-to-head, but we end up helping them catch zippy in the overallZippy is down by 20. They are gunning for us. Just look at Otto's lead right now. The only way to stop them from voting against us is to stop them from voting at all. Schools that have big leads lay off the voting for a while. I think we should vote for the favorites that get the big leads so they let up for a while and we have a better chance. What do you guys think? -

I like watching games at Damons. 4 bigscreens, other TVs at the bar, beer, wings, ribs, trivia.Just like most other places though, the help is often donning red/gray garb though. :puke:I can't blame 'em though. They get a lot of buck fans packed in there on Sats.In the future we should try to take over downtown establishments. We've gotta get our downtown behind us. news rags are slowly becoming more and more outdated. I would suggest that there are probably enough people here on this site with the intelligence, experience, and connections to get a start-up daily news publication off the ground to eventually grow to contend and even surpass the Beacon Journal, BUT it's really not worth it. In 5 or 10 years, we will be even farther down the road of electronic media dominance.

true, I suppose, but the overall standings are sorted by head-to-head record first, and overall votes second.At this point in the competition, the problem probably is not the opponent we are facing. The problem is the people that are voting AGAINST us in order to try to get us out of that top spot.Lets keep pushing....we've been getting it done so far. -

I suppose I might feel the same way if I witnessed whatever it was that you did. Then again, I consider myself a nice guy (as others have said that I am as well) but I can be a serious jerk to people when I feel there is a reason for it.Anyway, now that I know your reasons, and I can put it into context, I don't think I will react to it the same way in the future. You obviously didn't just decide one day to be a Frye-basher for the fun of it, or to goad Frye supporters, and to me that is different. To me, it's less offensive if you have a personal reason for it.Of course, that does NOT mean I am going to stop hoping he does well in the NFL.

BuckZip must be assuming that since we are all zip fans we stick our heads in the sand and dont' see buckeye fans piling on Michigan when they lose.BuckZip stated it perfectly, "What is wrong with MAC fans?" The Big Ten teams always root for other big ten teams when it comes to non-conference games or Bowl games. It's money and prestige for the conference. They keep track of there conference wins in Bowl games and use them as benchmarks against other conferences.MAC fans should do the same. -

Yeah, I wonder whose "contractual obligations" they are breaking when they kill 17 minutes of airtime showing radar and drawing circles around 15mph swirls trying to induce panic "OMG, teh tornados are coming! Run for your lives!"All I got back was a short response saying that they had a contractual obligation to switch to ABC at 3:30pm. According to the Beacon Journal article, it was THEIR decision to cut away to the other game. I'd like to know the truth.
