  1. Nice selection! Just bought another Zips t-shirt! I needed that like I need a hole in the head. Lol
  2. DE Bennett Adler (St. Ignatius) was named to the Cleveland dot com 1st Team Defensive Team. A defensive end among St. Ignatius' three down linemen, Adler blended power and speed to earn a scholarship commitment with the University of Akron... 11 TFL's, 23.5 tackles with 5.5 sacks entering their final game. Linky (Btw, this is pretty elite company as the other two DL 1st-Teamers were Hoban's Darryl Petersen who is a Wisconsin commit, and Streetsboro's Mike Hall who is an Ohio State commit.)
  3. Man, this is disappointing. Toledo got a huge pick up here. Hoban LB Damon Ollison. Ollison held offers from us, Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Arkansas, and Arizona State. :(
  4. You guys gonna watch the football game live & the basketball game on replay, or vice-a-versa?
  5. Not to us, but I found it interesting that this gentleman is apparently 5,000% committed to Ole Miss.
  6. I love to hate OU; great rivalry. I like Boals. Not as much as Groce, but I think Boals is also a great coach. But that's neither here nor there. I just am extremely impressed with OU's starting lineup. F - Ben Vander Plas: an All-MAC caliber player and potential MAC POY type of talent F - Dwight Wilson: they just got this guy (transfer from James Madison?) and he's a stud. 6-8, 250 & can play. He, together with Vander Plas make for the best front court in the league. (Granted, I haven't seen the Zips play yet, but these two are tough.) W - Ben Roderick: sophomore who is coming into his own. Basically, he single-handedly led his team to the Ohio D-1 state semi-finals his senior year. W - Lunden McDay: STVM's McDay is actually the weakest link of their starting 5, and Lunden's a very solid all-around baller. PG - Jason Preston: this guys is special. I hate to say it, but I think he's going to overtake LCJ for MAC POY. Go Zips!
  7. +1. All these teams getting multiple games under their belts and our first game isn’t till Saturday ?
  8. But I'm leaning more towards Ohio's that good.
  9. Meanwhile, today Ohio violated CSU live on ESPN3 ?
  10. Watts looked good at CB. I liked him at S because he's such a playmaker I don't like to limit him to one side of the field. But we needed him at CB and he showed out. Randy Cochran Jr. also had a really good game at DB. He was always around the ball and is a sure tackler. He played at CB and was our nickleback while Charles Amankwaa manned the corner opposite Watts. (I think. It's difficult to watch DB's on tv) I like Corey Thomas and Jaylen Kelly-Powell at the safety positions. Thomas moves so smoothly for a 6-4 athlete and Kelly-Powell brings some veteran savvy to the field - something of which we are in short supply. Our punting left a lot to be desired. Line drives just begging to be returned.
  11. Didn't want to start another thread but I did want to mention that our ladies team knocked off Dayton this afternoon Good show, ladies!
  12. Idk, but he only became eligible in week 3. No spring ball due to COVID means he doesn't have much familiarity with our O.
  13. Looking at the stats you'd never guess we had won by 28 BUGS ... Akron First Downs: 13 ...15 Rushes-yards: 38-160 ... 39-195 Passing yards: 135 ... 87 Return yards: 134 ... 49 Punts-average: 4-19.8 ... 5-37.0 Fumbles-lost: 2-2 ... 2-0 Penalties-yards: 3-35 ... 3-12 TOP: 29.55 ... 30:05
  14. You can tell Arth sincerely loves these kids from the bottom of his heart and that they can tell it. They obviously like playing for Arth & Co. & like playing hard for these guys.
  15. Kato's dad is confident Kato will be back & leading the team next season. Kato's dad is a little over the top, but if you follow him on twitter he's extremely positive not just for Kato, but for everyone in the program and is very complimentary toward Gibson as well. Here's an example:
  16. Gibson doesn't instill much confidence in me as a starting QB. He'd have to make a Loren Christian Jackson-type leap next year to be able to lead a team to victory. I'm hoping DJ Irons, our JUCO QB recruit, can come in and start right away. Last year (redshirt freshman) he was an honorable mention All-American who ended the season completing 115 of 185 passes (62.2 percent) for 2,039 yards and 21 touchdowns (with only 5 INT's) & also rushing for five scores. Here are his hudl highlights.
  17. May even take him over Payne!! ?
  18. Love the aggressive D
  19. Best I’ve seen since Brandon Payne
