Given the number of losses on both sides of the ball after last season and a couple of significant injuries this season, it shouldn’t be surprising.

I'm loving where the program is right now. After the Ball State game I wrote something along the lines, "Another BIG game in 5 more days. I love having big game... after big game... after big game... Thank you Coach Bowden." Okay, so we lost the big game at Buffalo. We're not going to win every big game. But at least Bowden has taken us to the point where we're actually playing big games. Most of our games have meaningful implications & it's been a lot of fun! Over my 23-years of being an avid Zips fan, before Bowden came we rarely had big games. With Bowden & Co. almost every week the past two seasons have been big games. Toledo is another big game. BUGS will be a huge game! And Ohio will be an absolutely huge game! Even if OU is a game ahead of us when we play, if we beat them we win the tiebreaker with them & go to Detroit for the the MACC. Then another bowl game. But I'm getting ahead of myself... First UT. Get bowl eligible, Zips! We're moving in the right direction.

I wasn't able to watch the game last night & even though it's a sickening loss, I'm probably going to watch the replay this weekend. I think we need to keep in mind how decimated by injuries we are. Amato's the same D coordinator who had a top 15 defense last season. Marcus is a shell of himself (proud of him for playing) & Se'Von Pittman has just been disappointing. Deon'Tae Moore, Brock Boxen, Zach Guiser & Devonte Jest were all out. Did Camara play? He went down toward the end of the Ball State game. My grandpa was a high school coach & used to say, "You can't plow the field without the horses." Another saying is, "Jack's & Joe's beat X's & O's." So... there's a little apology for Amato. But this was a disappointing loss. But, okay, so we laid an egg & lost to a team we should beat. That's the level that our program is at. I was expecting us to lay an egg once this year. That was it. Let's not do it again.

I ordered pizza & invited a friend over to watch the game (always trying to make new Zips fans). I was ticked when it was blacked out on WatchESPN. Instead we're watching Cabin in the Woods & I'm glad my friend's not seeing this.

Tyler Adams, Louisville, WR, 5-11, 185, 4.54 It'd be nice if we at least invited Tyler to be a preferred walk-on. As far as I can tell he isn't generating any D-1 interest, but he's been a tremendous high school WR for 3 years now & is one of those blue collar kids who can just play football.
