  1. GT w/ 2 strikes in one paragraph: When the Zips and Broncos kickoff their Mid-American Conference battle Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at InfoCision Stadium, UA will face a team that is ranked for the first time in its school history at No. 23 in the USA Today Amway Coaches Poll and No. 24 in the AP poll. It is the first time UA will play a ranked team at home. http://www.ohio.com/sports/zips/university-of-akron-football-tra-von-chapman-likely-to-make-third-consecutive-start-at-quarterback-1.718497
  2. Here's an update from today's ABJ on the Lebron James Family Foundation's I Promise Institute at The University of Akron. http://www.ohio.com/news/education/lebron-james-family-foundation-to-set-up-a-home-base-at-ua-for-i-promise-participants-1.718886 For this thread, I thought this to be relevant: "The I Promise Institute will be located in InfoCision Stadium in an undeveloped space on the south end of level 3. ...The First class of the Lebron James Family Foundation students are in the eighth grade and will graduate from high school in 2021 and arrive on The University of Akron's campus." Concerning future athletics attendance, here's a group of future students we need to start reaching out to right now. Get them excited and proud to be from Akron. Don't be typical self-loathing Akronites.
  3. Update on the evolution of the Lebron James Family Foundation & I Promise Institute @ The UofA. http://www.ohio.com/news/education/lebron-james-family-foundation-to-set-up-a-home-base-at-ua-for-i-promise-participants-1.718886
  4. Nice! Kennedy Catholic PA?
  5. That's right! Add two W's
  6. UG5 didn't have his own thread yet?! For shame. 6'1" 225 heat seeking missile! I took a friend to a game Jatavis Brown's sophomore season & he mentioned how Jatavis really stood out to him. UG5 is really beginning to stick out on the field. I love how we can have conversations about who we think our next NFL linebacker will be! Linebacker U! Penn State is green with envy.
  7. Thanks for the report. It's nice hearing from someone who witnessed the match. I just had to follow the score on GameTracker.
  8. Certainly a down year... which we're quite unaccustomed to around here. Unless we win the MAC & make a deep run in the NCAA's this season's busted.
  9. I would definitely want to alter my predictions! I'm no Nostradamus. Lol. I've done pretty well up to this point in the season, except for flip-flopping the Marshall & App State outcomes. But from here on out I'd change my prediction for 3 of the remaining 5 games: WMU - L BSU - W Buffalo - W Toledo - L BUGS - W (who would have thought they'd utterly implode as they have?) Ohio - W (OU's pretty good but our OL is playing better than I thought they would) 8-5! Prove me right, Zips!
  10. That's right. JoJo gives it 100% and puts his body on the line a handful of times a game. So he's been banged up & gimpy & has laid on the field after some catches (a little drama going on there, I'm sure). So I wasn't too concerned when he was laying down after Saturday's catch... at first. It took him a lot longer to get up after Saturday's score than it had in the past. But I'm with you, I'm thinking it's nothing too serious & he'll be flying around out there once again come Saturday. Go Zips!!
  11. Is this game on the Big Ten Network? I ask because there's no Video link to watch the match on GoZips.com.
  12. Thomas Woodson Jamal Marcus Se'Von Pittman Jojo Natson Warren Ball What is that? The 1st-Team All-MAC list, or our injury list?
  13. The way he moves & being 5'8" w/ long arms, he reminds me of former Zips WR Lavel Bailey. http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=55996&draftyear=2001&genpos=WR
  14. He has ZERO regard for his own safety. Gives 100%, 100% of the time. Man, I hope he's okay to go against WMU.
  15. Dr. Z, I like the ZipsNation.org watermark. Sharp!
  16. ??? What??
  17. Forgot to mention this great looking athlete I saw from STVM. 6-3, 185 Jr. WR/S Leonard Younger. His "highlights" below aren't anything that'll blow you away, but he really passes the eyeball test. They don't use Younger @ WR this year, but he's an athletic 6-3 & so he really stood out to me. http://www.hudl.com/profile/4599105/leonard-younger
  18. I've also noticed 6'2", 223 lb. R-Fr LB Josh Ward getting quite a bit of playing time the last couple games. He's been lining up at DE. He looks pretty good and certainly passes the eyeball test. http://www.gozips.com/sports/fball/2016-17/bios/ward_josh_z833
  19. I remember going to the Byron Leftwich Marshall Top 25 game at the RubberBowl... Idk, who knows how many years ago now. I was expecting the Zips to get run, just like I'm feeling for this WMU game. But the Zips won in a sincerely classic college football game. So you never know. Our D has to come to play on Saturday.
  20. ^^ I'm already pumped for November 22nd
  21. I don't think anyone posted this. It's the Miami Pre-Game Hype Video. IMHO better than the last few. Maybe I just feel that way b/c it features highlights from the K.e.nt game. Lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1aKQ5mmWig
  22. Crazy! When's the last time a Zips team only had one penalty the entire game?! When Heisman was coach?
