  1. Watched the replay of the Ball Sweat game last night. Man, is JoJo a playmaker. I know he doesn't have the upside of a Jerome Lane or a Dominik Hixon, but I'm going to say JoJo's the best WR I've seen play at Akron. I'm going to try and really savor watching him play these final six games. You don't get to watch players as exciting as JoJo many times in life. We are sorely going to miss him next season. Go Zips!
  2. A few video highlights & a brief interview of Coach. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqjoVkE6Ktw&feature=youtu.be Over 500 yards total offense. 100-yard rusher & OL didn't allow a sack to the #5 sack defense in the country.
  3. Quarterback Thomas Woodson Returns to Lead Zips Over Cardinals http://www.ohio.com/sports/zips/akron-35-ball-state-25-quarterback-thomas-woodson-returns-to-lead-zips-over-cardinals-1.721399 Zips D only allowed 70 yards rushing in the 2nd half.
  4. Callaway returned a late 4th-quarter blocked punt for a TD to beat Buchtel. East has clinched at least a share of the City Series Championship and, according to the article, it was the first time East had beaten Buchtel in over 2 decades. http://www.ohio.com/sports/high-school/city-series/high-school-football-east-26-buchtel-21-touchdown-on-blocked-punt-lifts-dragons-over-griffins-1.721457
  5. Lame sauce anyone watching this? 3-0 West Virginia
  6. Van Edwards Zips' POtG. 16 carries, 112 yards, 1 TD
  7. Cranking it up already! Can't wait! Another huge game. UB got smashed by NIU 44-7 today. Hopefully they're beat up - because we sure are. As a longtime Zips fan, I'm not used to having big game... after big game... after big game... after big game... I LOVE it! Thank you Coach Bowden!!!!
  8. That would explain Natson's gesture to the stands after his big 4th Q catch. What a difference Woody makes with this team.
  9. GT: Zips looking for depth to augment talented returning core http://www.ohio.com/sports/zips/university-of-akron-men-s-basketball-zips-looking-for-depth-to-augment-talented-returning-core-1.720946
  10. Marla Ridenour: For UA basketball, loyalty wins out as Isaiah Johnson, Kwan Cheatham spurn chance to transfer http://www.ohio.com/sports/zips/marla-ridenour-for-ua-basketball-loyalty-wins-out-as-isaiah-johnson-kwan-cheatham-spurn-chance-to-transfer-1.720883
  11. I like that KD is keeping the new arena talk alive. He insists on it's importance beginning around the 24-minute mark.
  12. Trying to watch online but it's not loading. Anyone else attempting to stream this online w/o success?

  14. ^^During the last couple minutes of the press conference Coach addresses the now-infamous Oar Incident, essentially saying it's much ado about nothing and has been blown way out of proportion.
  15. NIU 1-6. Who woulda thunk it.
  16. There is a poll at the bottom of the article asking, "Who should the Chargers move forward with at linebacker? A. Jatavis Brown, or B. Manti Te'o" Jatavis has 97% of the vote.
  17. http://www.ohio.com/sports/high-school/high-school-notebook-st-v-m-seniors-jayvon-graves-john-williams-pledge-to-play-college-basketball-triumphant-revere-enters-girls-soccer-tournament-1.720224 Article states UA did offer Graves. Losing him to another MAC program hurts. He's an extremely athletic player. Congrats to Buffalo.
  18. http://www.ohio.com/sports/zips/university-of-akron-football-zips-looking-forward-after-controversy-clubbing-from-western-michigan-1.720231 Story still focussing on the Breaking an Oar Incident. I was perplexed why anyone could care less the Zips broke an oar before the game. With the way WMU uses the "Row" mantra, it seemed to me like an obvious thing to do - almost too obvious. But the article points out that, "Western Michigan coach P.J. Fleck, however, started using the saying to honor his son who died as an infant." Oh, okay then. But do people know that? I didn't know that. I doubt any Zips knew that. Is this common knowledge in the football world? I don't think so. This has turned into a strange situation, all-around. This is what Fleck said about the Zips breaking the oar: “When they go low, we go high,” he said. “It was tacky. A little bit classless,” he said in his Tuesday news conference with WMU media. Okay, again, dude, you gotta make it loud and clear where the little mantra came from. I don't think anyone knew it was to honor your son.
  19. Just tuned in. 1-0 Akron.
  20. You came from Hawaii to witness that?
  21. Ouch. Hey Jelani, time to play like you're from "The U."
  22. You guys are killing me! When's the weekly presser? Tuesday? If one of you guys w/ some inside info wanna IM me I'd really appreciate it.
  23. ^^Exactly. Jerseys are staples.
