Tell me how B McKnight can miss a half-dozen wide open shots and then hit a turn around fadeaway from 18 feet?
-
Wow. Just WOW.
-
Surprised they didn't give a foul to Nik right there. It'd be about fitting of the classic "really bad call at a critical time" that MAC officials seem to make in every close game.
MactasticNo foul when that kid from Ball State lowered his shoulder into Nick? Wow. -
Did some stat research, I guess it's those Zips colored glasses: We're 4-4-1 in 2nd halves in MAC play, and 14-7-2 overall. Why are Akron games like this? And I don't mean just basketball, it seems we almost ALWAYS have weak second halves. I'd love to see the foot on the floor the entire game. Don't play to "not lose," play to win, play the same until there's two minutes left if you've got a big lead. Hopefully this changes in football with Coach Ianello and crew. It's just frustrating to watch. -

Wondering how that wasn't a foul on the "block" on Jimmy right there? How can refs in the MAC call fouls on Zeke's blocks and then blow a call like that?

For those without TV (like yours truly)...http://channelsurfing.net/watch-ncaa-college-sports.php?w=12

No cable TV, might have to head to Barley House to watch the game. It's not listed on channelsurfing.netI'm trying to get people together to go watch this somewhere since the weather has taken a turn for the worst and i wont be making the trip. It's down to the Barley House or Tap House. -
Kentucky is the poster child for mediocre "Big 6" "Just get bowl-eligible" teams. They haven't finished above .500 in the SEC in the last decade, and have won more than 7 games exactly twice in the 2000s (8, twice). Are they as bad as they used to be? Nah. But hardly a powerhouse imposibility.Syracuse sucks (no offense TexanMark). Sure, they beat us last year, but that is an absolute winnable game at home. We'll likely even be favored to win that one.Gardener Webb should be in the same neighborhood as the Morgan State game this year.Indiana is also awful. Yes, I know we lost to them too, but this is an IDEAL "turn heads" schedule. If Ianello and co. turn around and run an offense/defense that actually allows for a chance to win (read: no sideways pass or incredibly slow developing draw plays and no 3-3-5), we could set up for a 4-0 non conference. Am I saying we'll win these games? NO. But what's a better chance? A trip to Penn State, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Connecticut, Cincinnati etc. or jetting off to Kentucky or Indiana? Build confidence THIS year, use it next year for a gauntlet of a non-conference @ OSU and Cinci.
Who are we replacing UK with so that we have 4 winnable games, or did we get permission to play 15 on 11?
four winnable games to start the season? I like it.Good news...it's official(according to Mike Rasor):9/4/10 vs. Syracuse9/11/10 vs. Gardner-Webb9/18/10 at Kentucky9/25/10 at Indianahttp://www.ohiomm.com/blogs/zips/2010/02/4833/

Anyone else realize the strong correlation to the slump and the re-disappearance of one Mr Conyers? Can't blame it on one guy, but he was a HUGE part of the success earlier.
-
I agree COMPLETELY, zw. I found myself singing along from the GA seats subconsciously. Hope to see this continue as well.
-
Ugly game with piss-poor officiating both ways. Thanks MidAmerican Conference for an exciting brand of basketball!

If I were a gamblin' man, I'd be tempted to make this one "more interesting." Emu is bad, but the type of team that can give us issues, especially if we play like saturday. I think EMU beats the 13.
-
Hmmm...gotta root for WMU here up 2 with 7 sec left...
-
What an incredibly equally played game offensively... both teams 23/54 on FGs, WMU 3/15 3pts, Can't State 2/15 3pts, WMU 22/28 FTS, Can't State 21/25. Can't State dominating the boards 37-23 which is surprising.69-69.WMU ball w/1:13 to go. -
im case anyone is wondering, tied at 35 at the half. 3rd time at the MAC center and I'll never complain about the JAR again. I'm stuck in a corner GA section and cant see half the court unless i stand

Man, that Golden Felons board is like a graveyard. Do they have fans?

Zips 70Charlie's boys 54Statement game, Charlie lost a lot and it's time to take advantage while theyre down. Close game most of the way, Zips pull away mid 2nd half.

I would be ecstatic if that's the case...but odds are we won't hear anything from athletics about a permanent football schedule until March. Anyone have some inside info?Cuse fan here...I'm hearing we are now going to open up at your place on Sept 4th as opposed to Sept 18th. Can you guys confirm? -
Yep....well not that it matters when you hit 13 of 25 from the line. It'd be a manageable game right now if we hit 75%.No foul when the kid from Buffalo lowered his shoulder and knocked Mcnees down? -
I had video with no audio...now nothing. Not sure if it's the stream or the player...
I'll be uninstalling it as soon as the game is complete. There is a webcast on UB's athletic site, but you need Realplayer installed to watch it. Installing that pos isn't worth it to me, so I'll be listening to French on 1350AM. -
Took a gander at the line this morning and was shocked to see a "PK" next to the Zips. Bring this one home and start it 3-0 in the MAC. GO ZIPS!!!
