Rome played his best noticeable ball in the last 10 minutes of the game. For the first 30, it seemed like he was afraid to attack the rim. We need to see the Rome of old pretty damn soon!
-
I'm not saying he's better than Dials, Joyce, or Middleton. Not by a long shot. I'd just like to see him get some more minutes. Plus, for some reason the Rowdies love him and they'll get loud.

I was at the game and it seemed to me that when the guards would try to pass the ball into the paint to the big men, the pass was picked off. We turned the ball over 14 times, including 3 by Ced, 2 by Dials, and 2 by Joyce. I'm willing to bet that the majority of these seven TOs came trying to move the ball from the perimeter to the paint. Whether the result came from lazy passes or good defense is for you to decide. I'm not gonna rip apart the officiating too much. Whoever that bald guy was is the same guy that called the Can't game last year and gave them a lot of calls. Sure OU got to the line a lot more than we did. There were some bad calls, especially the two on Walther behind the arc (the whistles came after the shot had already missed the bucket), but the refs seemed to call a lot of violations on the Bobcats, including what I believe was three traveling calls in a matter of about two minutes. It was just a shame that after we would get a good call on a turnover, we seemed to get a bad call on a foul. I'm all for make-up calls if you make a mistake, but it did seem that most of OU's make-up calls put them at the line while ours just got us the ball.

We were wondering the same thing last night. When Goddard plays, he scores.

You idiots are stupider than the asswipes that were sitting behind us chanting "Bubba Walters!" IF YOU WANT TO TALK SHIT, LEARN THE PLAYERS' NAMES! It's JEREMIAH WOOD! NOT WOODS!
-
I was actually wondering why you only had 6 total cheerleaders. One of my buds suggested the rest were probably at the bowl game, which made sense. Is the 110 the band? Excuse my ignorance here, but I don't know much about OU traditions. The band was not wearing OU colors, this why I'm makind the assumption. When we played Nevada, except for the numbers, our enthusiasm was stupendous. I'm hoping we can keep up that excitement the whole season and just keep adding fans.By the way...not gonna lie...I was laughing my ass off when ya'll chanted "Urkel" to Dru.

That's a great question. I'll even take one of those "Fear the Roo" jingles on the radio over nothing!

Once that happens..........

sgm, I was not saying that the Rowdies are a better organization. The O-Zone's numbers and organization are extremely impressive. I'm just saying that their fans do not seem to be in the game as much as the Rowdies. Remember the Nevada game? Every Nevada possession in the first half there was a "Z-Fense" chant and the second half was us jumping up and down and screaming "Ohh!" EVERY POSSESSION! That is impressive! If there was a student organization that had OU's numbers and our enthusiasm, look out! Hopefully we can maintain our ability to cheer while our numbers grow. I know a lot of people are pissed about the shirts and the selling of our seats, but during conference play, i really think things are going to pick up, especially if the team does well.

Cupcake schedule my ass. Mark my words, at the JAR, Akron wins by double digits. Take it to the bank!

I don't wanna comment on the game yet simply because I just got home from the game and I'm getting ready to go boozing, but I do have a few things I want to say. I'm starting my own thread cuz I don't want this post to get lost in the OU Postgame comments. I want to comment on the O-Zone. After hearing so many good things about how great their student section is, I was thoroughly disappointed in their showing. I respect their numbers and their organization. Their section was packed and I was really excited to finally see them live in their element. The giant brick and the the little tunnel vision thingies are brilliant, but their fans are not loud or into the game unless OU just tied the game or took the lead. Right as the game started, the atmosphere was great, I was thinking to myself, "Now THIS is a homecourt advantage." We were even asking each other how the Bobcats can lose a game in that building. But then as the game went on, they all seemed bored. The only time they were loud was right after a tie or a point to take the lead. I know I have a biased opinion since I go to Akron, but it seems that lately the Rowdies have been loud on EVERY possession. That's the point. If your team is down by 12, you are loud to make sure you don't go down by more. If you are up by 12, you are loud to make sure the other team cannot cut into the lead. I expected a lot more from the O-Zone tonight. All I was impressed with was their numbers, but hey, there's not much to do in Athens, so those seats will get filled. There's too many alternatives in Akron that keep the JAR empty. Also, I want to comment on the teenie boppers that came behind us to make fun of us towards the end of the game. If you're going to chant a player's name, can you at least get it right? His name is NOT "Bubba Walters"! It's Bubba Walther! Jackasses! It's also not cool to throw shit at other fans during the game. I got nothing wrong with giving some guff here and there. Hell, I dish it out too, but constantly throwing crap from behind us is just straight up classless.

I'll be there with a few others. Plus I know of another group traveling down. I can't wait to eat D.P. Dough again. Man, it's been too long!

How is this game NOT on TV? I know it's early in the season, but I definitely think this is going to be the MAC Game of the Year!!
-
I don't think we should upset with Walther transfering to OU. Why are we so hostile to a player like Bubba that arguably has become the best player OU has. Actually I'm kinda glad he transfered, it freed up a spot on the roster, and he is arguably the best player OU has, which makes me that much more appreciative of Dru, Dials, and Cedric. Too bad we don't have another player of Walther's caliber to send to OU. No disrespect. Seriously. But his name is Bubba (white trash) and have you seen him lately (Proactiv)? Just a simple observation, no disrespect.
-
GO AWAY! Nah, I'm just messin'. Welcome!
-
Bubba is white trash and he needs Proactiv!
-
That's bad ass. I hope the retirement rumors aren't true!

I'll be down there with RowdyZip and at least three other people, plus I know another crew that's showing up independently. Anyone else planning on making the trip?
-
I wonder if ONN is gonna play a lot of the home games again this year like they did last year. I thought it was actually kind of pointless to air the home games because it discourages people from actually getting up to go to the game when they can watch it on TV.
-
Yea, I saw OU was rollin' in the 2nd half. I didn't even know they lost.
-
Last year's chant during the OU game ...One side of the Rowdies - "Who Needs Bubba?"The other side pointed at the OU bench and said - "They Need Bubba"I can't wait to get this one going down in the Convo this weekend.
