  1. I'm becoming a K-E-N-T State fan REAL QUICK!
  2. Well, I was not going to be able to make the St. Francis game, but I was gonna leave work early on Friday and be there early for Nevada, but I think I may work late now. The entire organization as gone to hell. I'm not even sure how many more games I'll be attending for the rest of the year. I cannot support a decision like this. Can we have Newhouse back?!Also, make sure anyone who "purchases" these seats is wearing "the official 2006 AK-Rowdies tee-shirt." I'd hate to see anyone kicked out that actually paid money!
  3. REEEEEEEEE-BOUND!!!!
  4. BYAH! Rome, And 1!
  5. Linhart and Quade are starting. Why no Wood?
  6. Click Here to watch today's game. You need to register but it takes less than a minute. It looks like it might be UIC's radio feed with Comcast video.
  7. The Zips are now a 1.5 point favorite. Looks like some bettors got faith in the Blue and Gold!
  8. Pinnacle has moved to Akron +1. It looks like most other books are still even. Go Zips! It's my mom's birthday, so I'm gonna have to be getting updates on my phone. Anyone remember that episode of Home Improvement where Tim and Jill went out to a fancy restaurant for dinner and he was listening to the Lions game on a portable radio? It's gonna be kinda like that.
  9. GoZips.com says the game will be on horizonleague.cstv.com for free webcast.
  10. Pinny's got it even.
  11. Pinnacle Sports started putting up lines for tomorrow. It should be up soon.
  12. No spread yet, but the over/under is at 144.
  13. There is no spread posted yet for any of the games tomorrow, but here's the link to covers.com's matchup. It certainly looks winnable. I was excited to see that Akron is 6-2 in their last 8 games on a Saturday, but UIC is apparently 12-4-1 in their last 17 Saturday games. I love sports bettors and their crazy stats.
  14. So what's the news from last night's meeting? Anybody make it?
  15. I actually was just looking at ESPN's schedule for the MAC and they say this game will be on ESPN Full Court. I think BW3 in Akron may have it, but I'm not positive.
  16. I got no problem with everyone in the student section wearing the same shirt, but I think it could discourage some people to dress as "Super Fans," which is what we need more of. I consider myself one of them, but sport my Rowdies shirt under a blue Hawaiian shirt. I know a couple other people that wear the gold blazers and aviators and the group of four students I've been seeing at games now for a few years that wear the "Z-I-P-S" big-ass necklaces. I know that two new characters will be added this year dressed as super heroes, with capes and masks. Last year there were two fans that made their own Zippy heads and wore them to the games. Are you gonna kick these die-hards out of the section? My point is that one uniform is not as distracting nor is it as intimidating as a cast of crazy characters. Remember last year's OU game? Dr. Evil, Mini Me, Darth Vader, and Chewbacca were there. That was hilarious. These Super Fans are over the top characters and are generally the loudest people in the arena. We need more of them and we should not be discouraged from dressing so!
  17. Akron moved up to Number 7 in the new Mid Major Top 25. Check it out here!
  18. Anyone see Buffalo almost knock off Pitt Saturday night? I don't remember the final score, but we were watching the ticker.
  19. Again, no line for the Zips, but here's Covers.com's matchup.
  20. Let's do it. The only problem is that the game is still over winter break, so most of the Rowdies will be at home for the holidays. Maybe the board members could make this game one of the "special promotion" days. I remember the BG game last year, wasn't pretty. It sure would be great to hammer them at home.
  21. I can't wait til Akron wins the national championship. I'm gonna put this year's Rowdies shirt on eBay and makes tons of loot cuz it's the wrong story. I can say "rare, out of print, and mistake." Those words always jack up the price of anything on eBay.
  22. I'm not gonna lie. I probably wouldn't be attending the women's games if Coach Kest didn't call us out at our meeting. Kudos to her for getting her team to play to their ability and another kudos for lighting a fire under our asses too! I didn't see Dan's reaction, but thank God he didn't ask the refs to ask the security officers to ask us to stop picking on him. It's a competitive sport at the college level. You are not going to get any love on the road.
  23. The Akron women's team won by about 10 points tonight. I don't remember the final score, but when I showed up at halftime, Duquesne was shooting 9% and we were up 23-9. Decent turnout for the game, but it's looking to be the same Rowdies. We need to get some fresh faces in the crowd. Seriously guys, these women's game are great tune ups for our cheers at the men's games. Two cheers that are really coming toether nicely and sound great are the free throws, "Whoosh" and "Whoosh, Z-I (clap clap) P-S (clap clap)"and a new one I heard today. When the other team is shooting at the basket you are behind, if there is an offensive foul or a turnover that goes out of bounds, we all say, "What Way? That Way!" and point towards the other basket. I think that was it. If it's something, please correct me, but it sounded and worked great!
  24. We're gonna need to rock Nevada! All the Rowdies better come back to campus from break for this one. There should be a line wrapping around the JAR, like last year's Can't game!
  25. The roll call is hilarious too! The BAMA thing kinda reminds me of out trip to CMU. Their big thing is ""Fire Up Chips!" We kept saying Zips, of course there were only six of us, so it kinda went unnoticed.
