  1. Kudos to Real Salt Lake and best wishes to Scott Caldwell with his new team. https://www.rsl.com/news/rsl-signs-scott-caldwell ...“We have long admired Scott for his quality on the field and professional approach to the game,” RSL General Manager Elliot Fall said. When he became a free agent this year, he was a natural target for our club. He brings another excellent option to our midfield, as well as long-term experience in a proven, winning environment.”... ...A native of Braintree, Massachusetts, the defensive midfielder featured in 13 matches for the Revolution in 2021, playing 198 minutes to help the Revs to its first Supporters Shield title. Prior to the 2021 season, Caldwell was the second-ever Homegrown signing to reach the 10,000-minute milestone, a feat he reached in 2017. He was voted New England’s 2015 Team MVP by fans and the 2015 Players’ Player of the Year by his teammates. Named the Most Outstanding Player at the 2010 College Cup, Caldwell helped lead Akron to the NCAA Division National Title. ...
  2. F Josh Hallenberger transferring from Clemson to Akron. https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college-soccer-articles/2022-mens-di-transfer-tracker_aid50186 Welcome Josh! https://www.instagram.com/tv/CXhukkGvPiX/?utm_medium=copy_link
  3. Actually, I believe that is three 2021 recruits (Jonas Buechte, Malik Henry, Wan Kuzri Wan Kamal) and one 2020 recruit (Dyson Clapier). 🙂 https://gozips.com/sports/mens-soccer/roster/2020
  4. Cooper's firing likely had more to do with poor performance against TTuN than bowl performance.
  5. Merry Christmas.
  6. Not sure why Ashton's IG post shows Ontario, CA. Looks like he attends Lakota West High School in the Cincinnati area. https://www.cincinnati.com/picture-gallery/sports/high-school/high-school-sports/2021/11/10/photos-greater-cincinnatis-november-2021-national-signing-day/6372484001/
  7. Welcome Ashton Kamdem https://www.instagram.com/p/CXXpmblMlZw/?utm_medium=copy_link
  8. Go Huskies! Personally, I love the Emerald City... Beautiful area. Thanks for DeAndre Yedlin and best wishes to him and Steve Zakuani.
  9. 👍 I would think your use of HIS isn't because you think JT is JC, but I'm not certain of that. Lol My point with my comment was that stating "No wonder he doesn't feel too embraced." doesn't seem to agree with JT holding his party at UA's Infocision Stadium. I, too, would have thought that UA would have done something to involve average Zips fans in the celebration of JT's HoF induction. After all, how many former Zips are in the Pro Football HoF just 15 miles or so south of The University of Akron? UA seems to have its "hand" out quite often looking for donations from us. Perhaps they could have sponsored some activities around JT's induction and sold tickets, items, etc. as a fundraiser. Maybe even asked JT if he would be open to raffling off some tickets for a lucky few to attend his celebration at Infocision. Further evidence of the shortcomings of previous leadership...actually, lack thereof.
  10. Funny he held his HoF celebration party at Infocision stadium even though he “doesn’t feel too embraced”.
  11. Congratulations to Will Meyer.
  12. Expires Nov 30, 2022. Extended in Feb 2021 after 7 years of so-so results. Typical Larry Williams mismanagement of UA Ath Dept. Thank goodness it was only a 1-year extension. Of course, one would think if you had a year left on your contract you would be out recruiting the local talent. From what I’ve heard, Noreen seems to have no interest in checking out the talent in Akron... probably too far to commute.
  13. Happy to see United Soccer Coaches give Danny the recognition he deserves even though the MAC did not.
  14. Sorry, but the kit is gold...not yellow. Definitely not brighter yellow than either the Force or the Crew...not even close to either of those.
  15. Let’s Go Zips!!! Beat the Broncos.
  16. 👍 I'm out of likes for 24 hours (4, really???!!!). Great analysis / points!
  17. As of now, 4 is the max possible next year. Lol
  18. I was wrong, too, and happy that I was. So nice to see an NCAA Tourney Committee exceed my expectations for a change. Zips and 4 other MAC teams dancing. 5 of 7, WOW!!! Every quadrant of the bracket has at least 1 team from the MAC. Never thought I'd see that. GO ZIPS!!! #FindAWay
  19. Santa Clara is 11-1-4. Schedule
  20. Also HAPPY to be wrong. I never would have thought 5 of 7 MAC teams would get into the NCAA tournament. Yay for the MAC!
  21. Correction! Four FIVE MAC members in the NCAA Tournament. WOW. WVU with the #11 seed.
  22. CONGRATULATIONS Zips!!! Let's Go!!!
