And by the way - to those of you complaining about our game last night.....did you see Can't almost pi$$ it away tonight???? Toledo was within 3 with less than a minute on the clock. Guess Toledo IS pretty good.....

Very well said GoZip. It kills me to "hear" people on this board whine and complain. We've come so far in such a short time that it amazes me. We have to remember that the people who post on this board are just a minority and in no way represent what the Akron community is thinking. It is a select few that are never happy (i.e kingzip) and just want to stir the pot.

Last week KD was the greatest coach in the world when we beat Can't. Now you all want him fired?????? What a bunch of frickin bandwagon jumpers. KingZip - you need to get a life.

Honestly, I am quite surprised by this. I DO think Christian is an excellent coach and he is deserving of recognition, but I think when you add everything up, it's KD that overcome many odds to get this Zips team where they are. Christian came into Can't's program when the program was on its feet with great players already in tact. Look how far KD has come with many of the kids still from Hip's squads. We've surpassed everyone's expectations. We've broken school records this year. We were undefeated at home. We have our best record EVER since going D-1. This is the farthest we've ever gone in tournament play. We beat Mississippi State and came darn close to beating Clemson. And we BEAT Can't!!! Am I missing anything? What gives!

It is amazing to me that we can question a coach who is about to lead us to our first twenty win seasons in nearly 20 years. Do you realize that UA has only 5 winning seasons in the MAC in 15 years and KD will have led us to two. Also UA has been D1 for 26 years now and has only 10 winning seasons and 4 were with Hugs. I am sure that he does not play Peterson for a variety of reasons including that he is a poor defender and passer and does not make big plays at crunch time. Be thankful that we have had a great season with one of our best players out (Wood).

Hey Zipanalyst, you are right KD is an excellent coach and has been in alot of big games at all levels. Do not underestimate his recruitng ability. he recruited all of the main players on this team including Dials, Joyce, Wood, Travis, etc. In addition, UA has never won as many games in 20 years. He has chosen a non quick fix, less risky approach which should be commended. Also, what makes you think UA is such an easy sell. Unlike UA football, who has the best indoor facility in the Midwest, UA basketball has a poor facility and poor tradition. Be happy that you have a good team and be hopeful that you can keep your coach.

Well, I have a source too. And I can tell you quite honestly that KD does NOT get caught up in all that trivial stuff, he never has. He is a straight shooter in every sense. He makes no promises...to ANYONE! He plays to win. Period. He uses the players that he feels will play hard every minute and will help him win games. Funny how ya'll complain when we're a losing team, but now when we almost have 20 wins - people will still find something to complain about.

Sorry to disagree, but I think Frenchie does an excellent job! He seems to love this University just as much as KD. To a new replacement, it would just be "another job". Frenchie has passion.

I am friends with one of the players on the team. I also asked why Chad didn't go in when the rest of them did. He told me that when KD was putting those guys in, he told Chad to go in and HE SAID NO!!!! I couldn't believe it! Wouldn't you want to fight for every minute and prove yourself every chance you get?????

I thought they looked really sharp last night in person. And I could care less if we wore them for 6 games or 16 - as long as we win!!!!

Not any more. Zips are only up by 1!!!!

Here's a little more info. I heard thru a Zips player that Bubba had actually decided to transfer BEFORE the Puerto Rico trip! The nerve of this guy! How can he go to Puerto Rico on Akron's money knowing full well that he was transferring? Better yet, taking minutes from guys that deserved more minutes, like Cedrick. He told someone on the team that "yeah, I am going to transfer and where to is even funnier!"Also, Bubba's father is pretty close friends with Townsend, the assistant at OU. They go back quite a ways. So, the pieces are starting to come together. Per NCAA rules, if a kid wants to transfer as the case here, OU should have contacted Dambrot. That's probably why KD is not releasing him, because everything was done unethically....The hole is getting deeper by the minute.

This Bubba stuff is getting more and more interesting. I hope this situation is investigated by the MAC. I will thoroughly enjoy the moment when the truth comes out.An inside source told me that what Bubba claims (that he did NOT) speak with OU until after the transfer is a farse. Bubba's dad is friends with one of the assistants at OU, so I am sure this was very much planned. O'Shea MAY very well be innocent in this matter, but I wouldn't rule out his staff...... Only time will tell.

What he said.So what if we don't have anyone that "scares" anyone. What we DO have is a winning record. I would have given my left foot to be in this situation 2 years ago. We are 19-1 at home so far, C'mon people! So whatever it is KD is doing......keep on doing it! I, for one, am not going to question anything. I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy the ride. Go Zips!
