    Sinisa pulls a hamstring early in the first half and has to leave the game. Also, Ben Z almost nets his first MLS goal with a wicked strike that bounces off the bar.

    Great article. I watched the game and came away quite impressed with the play of both Gavin and Zemanski.

    The new field will be natural grass, but built on a sand base which makes it much more tolerant of weather extremes.

    From the article on mlsnet.com: "The rookie pairing of Zemanski and Gavin was particularly successful against San Jose. The two University of Akron alums, who are now in their fourth year of playing together, worked hard to shut down the Quakes offense and displayed an almost uncanny ability to find one another in tight spots." Both played the full 90. Hope they can keep it up!

    The College Cup was played at Crew Stadium in 2001 and 2003. In 2001 North Carolina defeated Indiana 2-0 and in 2003 Indiana defeated St. Johns 2-1.

    Field conditions were excellent but the temperature made it a bit nippy for the fans. Thankfully the result made it all worthwhile. Only TRUE Akron fans will be there on Sunday for the final. There's a 90% chance of rain, although the temperatures should be a bit warmer. See y'all there!

    The semi-final games will be re-broadcast on ESPN2 at 11:00 am Saturday.

    Everybody bring your rain gear. It's not going to be as cold as Friday night but it will be a LOT wetter!

    Any game that goes through the regularly scheduled OT's without a result is considered a tie, unfortunately. The PK's are merely a means to determine who advances when a result is necessary.
