McNamara looks to be confirmed, via his LinkedIn page. (I found it odd that he even had one of those) Nothing on Orelus yet, but it is known that he graduated early and left the FSU football team in the spring. That makes him an obvious candidate. It would also make him immediately eligible.

I don't know. I'm expecting a better showing than we has last year. We have improved depth, and the players have had a year in Coach Bowden's system. I don't think UCF is supposed to be significantly better than they were last year. Winning this game is still a longshot, of course, but I think we'll like what we see. If I could give these guys any advice, it would be to drop the idea of minor league football. Until the NFL throws their weight behind a minor league system, it will never be anything more than a money pit. They're better off trying to retrofit the Rubber Bowl into a soccer stadium and praying that the MLS wants an expansion team in the area. That or putting a roof on it and turning it into a convention center.

Jim Christian is a good recruiter, especially when speaking of non-traditional recruits such as transfers and JUCOs. But he's not a good gameday coach and he's not very good at fostering a sense of teamwork, either, partly because of his reliance on those non-traditional recruits. He relies on accumulating raw talent to beat opponents. That's good enough to beat most MAC teams and even to catch some bigger name programs off guard, but it won't do much against an equally talented team that plays well together and has a strong gameplan.
