  1. You mean we're finally seeing things that every other school at out level takes for granted?
  2. Some insight into what Ianello is feeling going into this game.
  3. You asked us, LeBron. I hope you already knew the answer you'd get.
  4. If Rasor's source is correct, I think i figured out where at least one of the extra scholarships is coming from.
  5. Look for the Zips to clean up their style a bit against Millikin. Also look to see who doesn't get any playing time among the freshmen even if the score is out of hand because that's who is redshirting.
  6. Latest word is that Villanova will only accept if the Big East promises to not invite Temple for at least 20 years. Basically means the MAC has complete control in the Temple situation. They were only holding out for an invite to the Big East, and with out that, they lose a lot of leverage when it comes to remaining football-only.
  7. This team has great POTENTIAL. We're not where we want to be, but we are much more athletic, even a little out of control. One more game to get things locked down before we hit the meat of the schedule.
  8. New offers, both from Hargrave Military Academy: OLB Quinn McClendon QB Brian Purnell
  9. Yeah. They play at the Canton Civic Center. They're a club team.
  10. http://sports.mobile.msn.com/en-us/nhl/art...=2&afid=142 Apparently a Zips hockey player left his gear downtown and some very confused person mistook it for a bomb. Naturally, the bomb squad showed up and determined that it was just a hockey helmet and then proceeded to explode it because they needed the practice. I'm not ruling out the possibility that this was planned by the hockey team to remind people that they actually exist.
  11. High expectations not present against John Carroll. I think that's a mistake. You should demand greatness from your players no matter who they're playing and always prepare like you're going up against a top 10 team. Also, it looks like Euton will definitely NOT be redshirting this year.
  12. Ah. Sorry I missed it. And I altered the paging numbers for threads. This is page 2 for me.
  13. I can say this about the scrimmage, from an anonymous Zip: "We killed 'em".
  14. Don't think anybody posted this article. A lock-down perimeter defender with incredible athleticism. Streaky shooter. Just the kind of guy who torched us constantly at the end of last season.
  15. Who else is ready for basketball season to start? Our scrimmage opponent is John Carroll. I found out that they are ranked #18 in Division III and return four starters. The last meeting between the Zips and the Blue Streaks (did they get that nickname from Cedar Point?) was in 1982. They have some good players, but are a young team with only one senior. They brought in two JUCO forwards that will likely play against us. The two players to look out for are #21 and #15 for them. Not the tallest team we'll see, but they would probably give some MAC West teams a run for their money.
  16. That's #12 for Mattocks this season.
  17. Link to the Gametracker
  18. OU won't take anyone by surprise this time.
  19. Now that I've been thinking about it, I'm ok with playing Milliken when we do as a season opener. It basically gives Akron a second pre-season scrimmage before we head to Dayton. With all the turnover we had, it lets Dambrot evaluate his newcomers and set the rotation better. It certainly beats scheduling this game in the middle of the season like we have done with the past lower-division opponents. I would still much rather have had Michigan State, though.
  20. It's officially on the Big East website now. Also, the comissioner said in a press conference that they have the invitations ready to send out. They knew who they wanted and are now ready to go after them.
  21. The Big East meetings have taken place. They will expand to 10 football teams, per ESPN's Stuart Mandel. Look for them to bring up Villanova and then add an outside team like TCU. This gives them 10 football teams and 17 basketball teams.
  22. It was closed to the public. I did get the sense that things went well. Look at Dambrot's comments about the team both before and after the scrimmage. He seems more positive afterwards.
  23. UA approves raises for professors.
  24. did he throw out that line about "if we didn't give up those plays that made us lose the game, we wouldn't have lost the game" line again?
  25. Congrats to Jimmy. Make the team, I know you got it in you. Also, Chris McKnight is playing for a team in Sweden this season.
