  1. The MAC didn't deserve the three bowls it got this year. Yeah BG had 8 wins, which is more than anyone else in the conference, but that obviously doesn't mean anything. Our MAC East champ finished with a losing record. The MAC West champ got creamed by a 1-AA taem at home. The MAC played too many Big 10 teams again this year, which killed our conference record as a whole and only reaffirmed to the local fans (whose support we are trying to win) that the MAC is small-time. We need to replace all Big 10 games with games against C-USA or sun-belt teams, who will come back to play us at home where we stand a better chance of getting a win. This conference has their priorities backwards. Pulling off a few upsets in the midst of getting creamed overall is not the way to move up in the football world; winning against equal or lesser competition is.
  2. If you thought this weekend couldn't get any sweeter, Can't is currently losing to Buffalo at home by double digits.
  3. I was not there but i am pretty sure they meant reggie witherspoon (Buffalo's coach). He is such a character and the rowdies have always had fun heckling him everytime he was at the JAR.It was not in reference to WITHERSPOON!!!, but to another recruit. I know this for a fact.
  4. It's here. We're not going to merge, apparently. Or even have any name-changes. Just a general program-consolidation thing, where the universities become more specialized by eliminating redundant programs.
  5. I was there. You know, I honestly believe that with just a bit more fan support, the women's team can turn into a real competitive force at home.
  6. Yes. Zeke was there, along with another high-profile recuit. They picked a good night to show up.Do you know the name of the other recruit? Not off the top of my head. The Rowdies were chanting for them near the end of the game.
  7. It wasn't a sellout, the radio postgame mentioned 4,090 (or there abouts).Great crowd though everyone was loud and into the game! There was no way there were only 4000 people there. It seemed like much more.
  8. Yes. Zeke was there, along with another high-profile recuit. They picked a good night to show up.
  9. Anybody have the official attendance numbers? We may have had a sellout crowd. There were at least 120 Rowdies that showed up.
  10. We win 69-54, and it wasn't even that close!
  11. If we play anything like we did at Dayton, we should win this one. The thing is, Miami's style of play destroys Akron's rythm and causes frustration. I can only hope that Dambrot has finally found a way to counter that.
  12. Yep. That sounds about right to me. We used to do the same thing to the Walsh HS kids, since they always wore sweaters and occasionally scarves.
  13. I would redshirt Miller, without any regrets. Rodgers seems to be the way to go, and at the very least he has had a year with the program already. CJ11 is a capable backup QB, as he can start fast off the bench for a limited time before he starts getting crappy. Remember that CJ always started games looking good before we devolved into crap.
  14. The thing is, I have heard that Andrew was tearing it up in practice before the season started. he was supposedly the fastest guy on the team, and smoked the defense regularly. His talent alone might be enough to earn him the starting spot over Allen and Williams. This is all just speculation since I haven't watched him practice, but I think we have something special in Mr. Johnson. Rasor has seen him practice with the team, and has said on his blog that he is clearly the best option at RB for next year.
  15. I have to agree with you. At the end of last year, Akron had the highest RPI of all the MAC teams. According to the NCAA's official website, here is how the MAC finished:68 - Akron85 - Can't State93 - Miami95 - Toledo106 - Ohio149 Western michigan226 - Central Michigan237 - Eastern Michigan238 - Buffalo243 - Bowling Green274 - Ball State301 - Northern IllinoisMost of those teams had significantly higher RPIs before conference play started, but they dropped like a rock once they played the MAC portion of their schedule, even though they won more in MAC play than out of it. They were kept afloat early by their SOS, but once they started playing the weaker MAC, the bottom fell out. Akron had the best formula to boost the RPI, despite our "weak' OOC schedule. In case anybody forgot, Akron won the MAC East, not Can't, Miami, or Ohio, who all played much tougher schedules than us. The same thing will happen again this year in terms of RPI.
  16. I assure you that he does.
  17. If you honestly think Miami has any chance of an at-large with a .500 OOC record, you're deluding yourself. The MAC sucks, and being affiliated with this conference is the only excuse the selection committee needs to keep us out of the tournament. What would our record be if we played their schedule? What good would it do us to get pasted on national TV? I would rather play Winthrop, Dayton, and Temple any day of the week over some self-inflated "major" conference team that won't give you anything but a quick paycheck for your troubles.
  18. Damn. lost 83-81. Too many mistakes for my liking.
  19. Damn. Shooting two.
  20. Bad mistake. Dials didn't hit the rim on the purposefully missed FT. Dayton ball, down 2.
  21. Damn. That may be it. We can't hit the shots when it counts.
  22. Down 2. Not looking good.
  23. My heart...
  24. DOUBLE OVERTIME
  25. Duquesne - 95BGSU - 78 Final
