  1. Who said complaining gets you nowhere?
  2. After reloading it I'm a fan of the new website, but it does need some adjustments. If you really want something to complain about go to the University Bands website. Most of it hasn't been updated since 2004... University Bands Website
  3. 10 hours and no comment on the Singletary reference? You guys are slacking today.
  4. Yeah, the band will be there. I'll be starting my hour trip north here in a little bit. I'll mention something about happy birthday when I get there.
  5. I'll let you know as soon as the director lets us know. He's taking count in the next day or so to see how many people can make it.
  6. It was perfectly placed in the top right corner.
  7. They finally wiped the lens off, that helps.
  8. I kinda think so, I hear "Let's Go Zips" everytime the white uniforms get anywhere near the goal.
  9. Too bad you can't hardly see anything through the rain on the lens.
  10. She sent me the exact same response, letter to letter. She never answered my question about the neutral site though...
  11. I thought the same thing when I read that earlier. What a bunch of bs.
  12. I sent the same note from above to both ladies that were listed in Rasor's blog. Same tone, not accusing, but asking for an explanation.I got an out-of-office e-mail from both. Ms. Smith's reponse directed me as follows (Ms. Keller's said she would be out on the 27th and 28th). I will be out of the office the week of November 24 without e-mail access. You may e-mail Nicole Boles (nboles@ncaa.org) with anything that is time sensitive. I will respond to your message Monday, December 2. Thank you and have a Happy Thanksgiving.I have also e-mailed Ms. Boles.Ditto. Keep sending those emails guys, it can't hurt.Aaaaannnndddd .... she's out until December 1st.Thank you for your message. I will be out of the office until Monday, December 1. I will not have access to e-mail during this time. I will respond to your e-mail just as soon as possible.Nicole BolesNCAA Playing Rules AdministrationAnyone try the phone number?

  14. I really had my hopes up for the Hawaii bowl... four day all expense paid trip to Hawaii for the band in the middle of December... oh well.
  15. The next paragraph reads:If the home team's regular field is not able to be played upon, they can choose another suitable field in to play, unless,it is Akron in the NCAA tourney. In such an event, we the opposing team will automatically have it's seeding changed to be 1/2 below that of Akron to follow the rules detailed above. Actually, I know a way around this. Why don't we just use eminent domain to take over the SVSM field and declare it OUR field!Whew, for a second there I thought I really missed something... don't scare me like that. It just makes no sense to me. Unless there are special playoff rules it appears that it's completely legal for the home team to choose a new location. Was this a NCAA decision or what?
  16. From the Official NCAA Soccer Rulebook: http://nymisoa.com/pdf/2008_2009_ncaa_soccer_rules.pdfIt is the responsibility of the home team to notify the visiting team, before the date of the game, of any changes in field dimensions (e.g.,greater or lesser than minimal requirements), playing surface (e.g., fromgrass to artificial or vice versa) or location of the playing site. Further, itis recommended that teams agree on field dimensions before confirmingcontests or signing game contracts.Nowhere does it say the game moves to the opponents field, simply that the other team must be notified of a change of location. Has anyone figured out yet why it's moved to Northwestern?
  17. Does that mean we don't have to see anymore crappy posts like this? No one expected us to win against the #6 team in the nation, at their stadium, with a team full of freshmen. If you don't see the talent and potential in this group then you don't need to just give up on UA Basketball, you need to give up on sports in general.
  18. Well to really put it into perspective. Here is what the University of Minnesota has in store for it's band.http://stadium.gophersports.com/multi_virtual_tours.htmltake a virtual tour of the band room to get an idea how much money these big ten schools really have. I'd say it's better than most MAC school's football practice facilities.Wow... Maybe we'll get a section close to the field... How do you compete with that? Maybe we could at least get a band shell or something. It would keep us out of the weather and would make us sound three times as big as we do now. What do you think?keep you out of the weather? That's not what i like to hear from my band. Also, sound three times bigger?! If you sounded three times bigger I would at least be able to hear the band at halftime over the normal talk of fans. I think the biggest thing the band needs is funding, if you guys could get the funding that some of the other programs get, then that could make an impact and maybe weed out the weak links and the bad instruments. Maybe not having to bus you guys to our home games 5-6 times a year will save some money for that.Let me explain. When I say keep us out of the weather I guess I was thinking it would be like the Rubber Bowl. For bands in the bowl we were at the bowl 6 hours before the game started because we couldn't get a field on campus and had to practice with the High School Bands. It was pouring down rain when we got on the busses, through our 3 1/2 hour rehearsal, during our 1/2 hour lunch break, when we sat in the stands for two hours before the game while the team was on the field warming up and for a portion of the game. I guess we won't have that problem at the new stadium since we won't be stuck 8 miles from campus. As for the complaint on our volume, at least we aren't like Can't who has to mic there band while it's in the stands. Talk about embarassing.

  20. About two years ago actually, but who's counting.Nice signature pic, BTW!Haha. Way to steal his thunder. You got me, but the Jackaboice article was more about the history of the band and the life of the chief then the current edition of Ohio's Pride. I also thought it was funny that the two articles on the front page were the end of the Rubber Bowl and a story on the band Band, but no mention of the result of the game or any details about it.
