what i proved was things are way out of hand with this AND ARE BELIEVING ANYTHING BEING SAID. Do I appologize for it yes. Did everyone believe it NO. Would I do it again NO.
-
Agreed, as i said before waaay to out of hand. Was I wrong for what i did on facebook, ehh prolly but at the same point was proving a point. I appologize to anyone who read to much into it. Its understandable why it has gotten to this point, people are excited to bring a big name in, the Akron community wants to win. We all want to see something good in that stadium outside of a 41-0 drubbing of Morgan State. With that being said i will say anything ive posted on here or twitter (whatever dont call me media bc i work for a college radio station ok i live with that not gonna lose sleep but im pretty sure I know ALOT more information and people then most when it comes to this) has been credible. go zips

btw just spoke to someone in the Trustees office, he was NOT in there today.
-
yep im a jackass. My point was how out of hand this has got. i post one thing on fb, then eveyone says they have "sources" saying hes there. Do I have sources yes but thats bc I also work for the media, know people in the trustees/athletic/presidents office and ive done all of my postings about this on twitter. This has got so out of hand it isnt funny, you post one thing about Jim manning the fryer at Ohio Burger you have 25 fb status' saying they saw him.

Deji's 6'3 frame will give Cooper some trouble. Kinda funny moment in the ROWDIES section tonight, someone goes we dont have any guards on the floor. My response was yes we do, Deji is out there, were just not used to seeing one over the height of 5'10.

plowerman78 replied to anonymous hippo's topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
depends who purchases the bus. The bus for Charlotte was purchased by UA Student Life compared to the bus trip on monday being purchased by Akron athletics -

"Buffalo awakened a sleeping giant," UA head coach Caleb Porter said. "I knew this team had that type of killer instinct in them. I've seen it for periods in a few games when their backs were against the wall. But that second half was exactly what I've been waiting for. With a new group, sometimes it just takes time and finally the light bulb went on." uhhh ohhh ncaa watch out, cant wait for Wednesday

Goal Patrol: Basically was an idea within the ROWDIES to try to get them to Soccer games. Summer of 07 Coach Porter met with us saying hey heres what we want to do (win a national title) and heres how we want to do it. Basically saying we dont want to lose at home and we need you there. So 2007 1st home regular season game vs New Mexico (ironic i know) goal patrol was born. Zips won 3-1. That year was a struggle to say the least, "hey come to soccer" wasnt that easy to do. We didnt really know soccer chants, we more or less a basketball group trying to do soccer games. But most importantly the 20+ we had every game built a foundation to what we have now. We may have not known what we were doing at that point but we were dedicated to the team and coach Porter. That year we lost only 1 game at home, against USF in the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament. That game to this day is still the only game we have lost with the ROWDIES/Goal Patrol in existence for soccer. ROWDIES: Following that 07 soccer season we had discovered that UConn already had the name of Goal Patrol, at that point we knew we were going to be something big and wanted to be unique and wanted people nation wide to know us for OUR name not anothers name. So thus AK-ROWDIES was back to being the name of the soccer student section.08 and beyond: Its funny to think about the 07 and 08 seasons because the fact we werent that much established yet, Coach Porter used to give Pizza IF we got 100 ROWDIES there. Now we get 100+ at the march alone. Break through occured in the 09 season. Bc of the combination of success in 08, to the fact we had big names coming into "The Pouch" (Indiana, Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan State) and the fact the ROWDIES were growing, soccer games became unique and something special here at Akron. We brought in horns, the samba band, made chants to fit Akron, all of these things helped make Akron the toughest place to play in College Soccer. 2010 was great for attendance and making "The Pouch" even better. New attendance records were set, so on and so forth. Bus Trips: When we do a Bus trip we do it big. We have had great success on Bus Trips with the only losses being Northwestern (sweet 16 of the 2008 NCAA Tournament) and the college Cup finals (damn you Deigo) We have been to Buffalo twice (2 buses the 2nd time) OSU twice (3 buses full both times) VT, Northwestern (2 buses) College Cup in Cary NC (Both Games.) This year hopefulley to Alabama! The Pouch: Name established by former Zips player CJ Kauffman. We used to call it "The Jack" but when we found out the players called it "The Pouch" we switched to that.Other Coaches: We have grown nation wide, which is a great thing to the point where coaches come over to us and ask us how do we do it and wished they had us. Coaches from WVU, CSUN, TOSU, MSU, NIU all have done this.Famous Games: New Mexico in 07 (first game Goal Patrol was there for) NIU in 07 (MAC Semis, first time and only time we rushed the field.) WVU in 08 (First time we really filled the hill) IU in 09 (Packed hill, revenge from 06, the Porter factor) OSU in 09 (again crazy atmosphere, beat them 3-0) Hartwich 09 (come from behind win, sealed the perfect regular season) CSUN in 10 (First game at the new "Pouch" Tulsa in 10 (1 vs 2 attendance record) Cal 10 (crazy game, shout out made back to the College Cup)The Hill: Its what we are famous for, its our home. Fill the HillI Believe: Yes its done other places but just seems different here. The team does it with us which makes it great. We are known nation wide for it.- hope i covered everything, any other questions let me know. -
Weekly College Soccer Polls

Maryland blew 2 leads in that game. First up 1-0 then gave up 2 goals in the final 10 minutes to let UMBC tie it at 3. Not only that but they missed a pk in the first overtime. -
You forgot about my great dancing on the scoreboard. That got a louder ovation then the team did all day

-
yeah talked to mayer yesterday, said he will be ready to go. Not sure if this has been noted any where but we wont have Luke Holmes the first 7 games bc of the whole switch from NAIA to NCAA rule. The game he comes back for is OSU which is A ok with me
