What do you mean by energy, I'm sorry I went off was a little upset, but I have no idea what by energy you mean. We put a lot of energy in our shows, and leave it all on the field. Can you help me out here. Thanks

Umm...I did it for four years in high school. That's my point - if my high school band (and many other high school bands) can do it, a college band should be able to as well, but better.High School isn't college if you actually use your ears you'll hear that most high-school bands playing is terrible. Try sitting on the home side and you'll actually hear that our chords are in tune and not just trumpets and trombones blatting as loud as possible.

Unfortunately for you I do know how to spell, and being a music major I'm pretty sure I do. (even tho you already knew that cause you know who I am) I not saying it's perfect, but energy was there. I felt it, and plenty other people told me the same thing.

Guys this was Penn State and Unfortunately we are still Akron. We never were gonna win this game or even make it close.Penn State is probably the best team in the Big 11. Don't give up hope yet. Our D looked amazing, and are O will pick it up when there not playing one of the best college D's in the country. This was a payday game, and I understand your upset cause I am too, but we gotta look at the positives, and not the negatives. 2nd half score was 7-0 in favor of our Zips. That's pretty good. This is our year, but it's also Penn States as well!

So a long time ago I joined this website called What if Sports....Long Story short they take Pro football teams and match them up...like the 1976 Steelers against the 1989 49ers.....and Sim 100 games between and decide who wins....great idea...They expanded to college football this year and Simmed the 2009 Season and did there bowl season for this year: Predictions They have four MAC teams in bowl games, and we are one. They have us in the Eagle Bank Bowl against Southern Miss losing, but that's another story.

I wasn't at the game so I can't say forsure, but I'm not to worried the shot he let in could've been an amazing shot...I mean I've seen soccer games where a goalie let a goal in didn't make a single save and still won....But the team sounds like they are on the right track....and I have watched some practices during breaks from band camp the goalies looked pretty tight

We are hoping to have some type of skull session!! At least I know myself and other band members I talk to want to have one! And our parade cadence is pretty good. We've never got to parade through campus on Game Day which should be the plan! Which should eliminate the problem of seeing band member "Out of Character". Some of us have some great idea we would like to do and music we're currently arranging! We need to run in by our director who is currently getting his Phd @ MSU thought right now. And as for the "slackers" you've seen in the marching band. I know when our director returns he won't stand for that! Hopefully we can Pump you guys and the team up for an Undefeated Home Season and A MAC CHAMPIONSHIP

No but we'd be selling ourselves short.... and half of the Marching band is made of Music majors and that style would be destructive to our lips which is what were gonna need to succeeded in career's. We are better then a lot of other bands in the MAC! but you can't compare Akron to OSU or Florida they're huge and Like I stated above OHIO has had a running tradition for over 100 years! Akron hasn't had that ability yet! We do the best we can!

If OU can do it with 110, I say we shoot for 110. We don't need a big, sloppy band just to cover the whole field. We need a more elite group of precision marchers, who take the band seriously, and who play loud. Likewise, OSU's band isn't a huge band, is it? However, they may get away with having fewer members because, if I'm not mistaken, they only allow brass and percussion in the marching band, am I correct? Thus the high volume they produce with a smaller number of precision marchers.If we would actually DECREASE the size of our present band, it may have the effect of making a position on the marching band a prestigious position? Something that must be earned? thus, decreasing the number of openings in the marching band may produce the effect we're desiring?OU has far more than 110...that's just a name nowadays. They are around 200 people if im not mistaken. How about our band stops making excuses and puts some effort into it. This attitude problem they have won't cut it.I know plenty of band members who are looking ahead to the season and planning for it now, and this is not true! They do the best with what they have. My advice is until you're gonna go out there and be in Ohio's Pride stop the negative comments. They work hard all semester. Wanna help! an easy one CLAP AFTER THEY PLAY A PEICE show support for a group who puts there tears and sweat YOUR UNIVERSITY... wereall on the same team here folks! and this needs to stop you're suppose to be helping the band, and keep the negative comments yourself....Also when in the case of OU and OSU.... They have had long running traditions and tons of funding since the early 1900's.... Akron, well hasn't. I mean look at our Tuba's...Just think about who reads this! you want band members not to care keep the negative comments coming cause i know about 20-30 of them who read zipsnation on a daily bases and this thread is already going between them, and for those of them who really care. I think you should get it!

Good game for Akron showed they can hang with the big boys...and the close game will help the experience of the freshman...who knows maybe next time Hitchens hits the game winner!

Another Close low scoring game in the Akron - Miami Rivalry Both teams are not shooting well (Akron shooting 29.2% and Miami shooting 27.6%) If were gonna win we need to create more points off of turnovers, and keep up playing great defense. The winner will be whoever starts hitting shots first..GO ZIPS!

If you would all care to look back to last year a certain 5 seed (tosu) made it all the way to the finals until doing tosu tradition of losing in the championship. So here's to hoping we can follow the path they did last year, but maybe with winning the Championship!
