I would love to see VCU & the Zips play again. I wonder what the staff would do different this time? I heard a comment yesterday that will pertain to the Zips now. "To win a tournament, a coach must make his team better each game, they can't stay the same course, they must get better."

If it were a multiple choice question, some of the answers might be: A.) They spend all their time at practice on defense. B.) They play on a team with a long bench. C.) Talent was misjudged. D.) All of the above IMO, yes. I brought this up in another thread and it went over like a lead balloon.

I don't think that is a fair comparison due to the suspension of your starting QB the day before the game. If I could magically take PN16 today, and place him in that game as your starting QB, I think we have a 50/50 chance against IU (even with that crud defensive scheme). I'll go to my grave believing that, and it will take an in person apology from CJ himself to forgive that let down of a day. I respect GP1's laugh-o-meter more than the RPI, so I'll have to go with that for now. Remember, he who laughs last, laughs the loudest. TBD.

You hit the nail on the head there ZiPPer. I would have liked to been in those huddles to see what exactly was called. Seems we had very little movement on those plays. Where were the picks? On the other hand, we were lucky OU had the same problem. I thought it was a great game last night. Kids played with intensity and poise. They looked like a team that belonged in that game.

I h8 Ken+ 2...but I would like (semi-warm like, not red hot-like) to see them get an at large bid.

Nik's emotional game makes him great. Nik's emotional game makes him bad. The same thing that makes him good, is the same thing that gets him in trouble. It reminds me of Big Ben, he holds on to the ball forever, sometimes it turns into a big play for a TD, sometimes it turns into a sack. The same thing you love him for one minute, your cussing him out for the next. The one thing I would like to see Nik change about his game is the "flopping." He doesn't need to do it, he is a good defender. Square up and get your hands up, he'll have much more success. I trust that Nik will find an emotional balance sooner than later. He seems to be progressing to me.Nik getting mad when he got taken out of the game didn't bother me, I think the dude has more heart than most, and he wants to win more than most too. I did find it entertaining when Humpty come over to talk to him on the bench. That was cool.

Kool is one heck of a basketball player. He can play on my team any day. There is a certain future HOF coach that always says defense is easy, find out what the other team does, and take that away from them. We didn't do that last night and still won. Lucky, maybe, but I'll take it. GP1 is correct in another thread where he said if you look back on most championship teams, you will find luck involved. Am I crazy, or did Brett McClanahan play better defense on Kool? I think Brett's defensive game has improved leaps and bounds from last year. He was focused again last night. I'm surprised he isn't getting more PT. Overall IMO we didn't defend Kool tight enough. We wouldn't pick him up until he crossed the three point line. When he didn't have the ball we would lay off him and try doubling down low. We should have had at least one person in his side pocket the whole game. If I coached that game Kool would have woke up very sore today.

I wonder if the WMU 20 year old kids are going to be fatigued after playing 30 minutes of basketball 24 hours ago?

I would love to play OSU in the big dance, but there is no way OSU is going to be a 3 seed.
