QUOTE(BirdZip @ Jan 23 2012, 12:40 PM) Anybody seen the Honey Badger videos on YouTube? Someone needs to put together a Harney Badger video... You wanna play defense and get all up in his face? Harney Badger don't care. He'll just blow right by you and kiss it off the glass. You only want to play him for 14 minutes? Harney Badger don't give a crap! He'll drop 21 on your @$$ before you can blink. Look at him. He doesn't even look like he's trying. But there's a Golden Flash trying to locate his jock strap while Harney Badger flies by with a huge grin on his face. Harney Badger's a beast! With all the credit going to BirdZip, I thought this "Nick-name" deserved it's own life. What's that, you don't like it, well "Harney Badger don't care, "Harney Badger" don't give a $hit. "Harney Badger" just takes what he wants from the flushes. He's NASSTY!!!! Oh, what's that, a Ball St Cardinal? "Harney Badger" don't care, he'll do all the work and drop 30 oon you b1@thces. If the AK-Rowdies don't get ALL over this, they don't give a $hit. This is GOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that we've got a real dadgum football coach, who's hired a staff, and he's ready to coach-up our players (and win some games). Let's figure out what we'll call him on these forums. C'mon y'all, let's get after it!!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't sure where to post this, but have all you other regular posters noted the increased traffic since the hiring of "TBC?" You have to love the increased interest in all things Zips!!

We did finally get a positive comment from the BLOWING GREEN (intentional misspell) announcers.

Or let Harney drive!!

Double Bonus!! Get it low to the serb!!!

It's been discussed before, but let's look at the coaching staff that our candidates could/would bring. Johnson - Well traveled and connected, could bring both NFL and college. Stoops (either one) - obviously well connected in the NCAA. Narduzzi - Could produce a decent staff with his relationships. Winters - D2 coaches get a job that launches them to the next level. We've agreed that we want a coach that that is a KD (Akron lifer); but football, more than any other sport, relies on the assistants to make the program. Who can deliver long-term returns? My choices for HC are listed in order above, but we need to look at the pipeline and determine what is the best for the Zips.

All I want for Chryst-mas is another bowl trip! Paul could be the man to take us back to the promised land. Who's in?
-
See my new topic "Connect the dots" this could be wonderful or tragic.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't TW have a stint at Wisconsin? Could the money we're paying to the search firm be to bring one of the much desired "hot" coordinators (Chryst) to our Zips? I'm a little verclempt, discuss.

I've talked to the head guy @ Collegiate Sports Associates and he's got a history of finding good fits for mid-major programs. He's the one who got Hunter Y. the sweet gig @ Coastal Carolina.

I can't imagine UA could really land Tresssel. However, if they could, I can't imagine you truly believe there could possibly be a stronger coach for UA to get. For me, if UA can get Tress, sign him quickly before he changes his mind. Brevity is the soul of wit. This sums it up quite well.

The phone system couldn't even handle all the calls after the announcement was made. Infocision could have it's phonelines contracted out to take the ticket orders, and they would be overrun Could Infocision handle the phones?

None of the rest of us are that old to remember that song. You will have to go this one by yourself. Speak for yourself. I remember hitting 12 straight shots in a fraternity contest "skills drill' at Memorial Hall as that sweet tune was rockin' the house!! And no, it wasn't one of the highlights of my time on campus, just something I think about when I hear the song.

As the dominoes begin to fall with coaches losing their jobs, let's look at 2 possibilites. Mike Stoops from Arizona or Houston Nutt from Ole Miss. These two would be similar to OU hiring Solich. Is this the route we want to go? Can we afford one of these guys with the iCoach buyout? If not, what are the other REAL options?

I don't have anything for Zeke just yet, but I do expect the AK-ROWDIES to have "SWAT PATROL" signs in abundance at every home game!!!

Good post Lee and if we read between the lines there probably is some frustration. If someone could see in the mind of TW, we might see a guy who believes he has done everything he can, in terms of scheduling, to make this season tolerable. I think this is a great schedule and perfectly set up for a team to have early season success and then carry that success into the home stretch. If TW is using the scientific method to evaluate the program, he is probably eliminating the schedule as one of those reasons they are doing poorly...I would. Now he has to start looking at other reasons and this is how change happens. Now the questions become: Is it the coach? Is it the players? Is it the facilities? Was it TW's decision making? Is it the band? Do we need to build a playroom for the FB players to watch TV in?You can't be serious. This post is a joke right?? I know your arrogance knows no bounds but to suggest that this schedule was set up for early success is mind boggling."Hi Doug, I'm sarcasm, I don't believe we've met. Let me introduce you my friend, common sense."

What is the quote you would most like to hear from iCoach this season? Here's mine: "This win streak has the team fired up, we're looking forward to continuing it this week!"

USAToday ranks Akron 182 out of 246 teams

Potential is meaningless word. I'm reminded of a quote from my high school coach "You guys have lots of potential, you know what that means? It means you haven't done a d@mn thing yet!!" Now, I'm not saying that I don't see any difference (positive) in the FOUNDATION or effort, but I do see a difference(negative) in results. But the potential isn't going to get us wins. I think icoach's biggest miss might be not selling his program to alum who support the university and more specifically the program. It stinks of someone wanting to say "I told you so." -

I think I'm coming down with something. There is only one prescription for the illness. (Hint: It's not an Ianellobiotic.)

Don't you do it, Dave! If you do, I'll post tons of I-coach's greatest hits(quotes), such as "I liked what I saw" or "We're going to look at the film." Of course, I wouldn't really do that, but it is funny and we all need a laugh. Actually, I think I might post only Rob's soundbites for the rest of the season, because if you hear it enough(TW) you might want to drink the kool-aid.
