Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't TW have a stint at Wisconsin? Could the money we're paying to the search firm be to bring one of the much desired "hot" coordinators (Chryst) to our Zips? I'm a little verclempt, discuss.

I've talked to the head guy @ Collegiate Sports Associates and he's got a history of finding good fits for mid-major programs. He's the one who got Hunter Y. the sweet gig @ Coastal Carolina.

I can't imagine UA could really land Tresssel. However, if they could, I can't imagine you truly believe there could possibly be a stronger coach for UA to get. For me, if UA can get Tress, sign him quickly before he changes his mind. Brevity is the soul of wit. This sums it up quite well.

As the dominoes begin to fall with coaches losing their jobs, let's look at 2 possibilites. Mike Stoops from Arizona or Houston Nutt from Ole Miss. These two would be similar to OU hiring Solich. Is this the route we want to go? Can we afford one of these guys with the iCoach buyout? If not, what are the other REAL options?

I don't have anything for Zeke just yet, but I do expect the AK-ROWDIES to have "SWAT PATROL" signs in abundance at every home game!!!

Good post Lee and if we read between the lines there probably is some frustration. If someone could see in the mind of TW, we might see a guy who believes he has done everything he can, in terms of scheduling, to make this season tolerable. I think this is a great schedule and perfectly set up for a team to have early season success and then carry that success into the home stretch. If TW is using the scientific method to evaluate the program, he is probably eliminating the schedule as one of those reasons they are doing poorly...I would. Now he has to start looking at other reasons and this is how change happens.Now the questions become: Is it the coach? Is it the players? Is it the facilities? Was it TW's decision making? Is it the band? Do we need to build a playroom for the FB players to watch TV in?You can't be serious. This post is a joke right?? Potential is meaningless word. I'm reminded of a quote from my high school coach "You guys have lots of potential, you know what that means? It means you haven't done a d@mn thing yet!!" Now, I'm not saying that I don't see any difference (positive) in the FOUNDATION or effort, but I do see a difference(negative) in results. But the potential isn't going to get us wins. I think icoach's biggest miss might be not selling his program to alum who support the university and more specifically the program. It stinks of someone wanting to say "I told you so."

Don't you do it, Dave! If you do, I'll post tons of I-coach's greatest hits(quotes), such as "I liked what I saw" or "We're going to look at the film." Of course, I wouldn't really do that, but it is funny and we all need a laugh. Actually, I think I might post only Rob's soundbites for the rest of the season, because if you hear it enough(TW) you might want to drink the kool-aid.

I have to say that this is one of the most thoughtful conversations on the state of zips athletics that I've seen on this board. There seem to be two schools of thought on TW and the state of "the program", athletics that is. One is that TW is improving the athletic department as a whole, and that's a good start. Second is that he totally botched the hiring of a football coach and needs to be judged soley on that decision. I'm in the middle. Alot of good things have happened under TW's tenure, but the football program is bad. I think overall 72 Roo says it best, "He's our coach and this is our team. I want them both to do well." If you don't feel this way, are you a true fan?

As things look right now, tickets to both games should be easy to get. Chapel Hill is the easy choice since you will be right there. The statium is in the middle of campus with little parking. The best college football setting I have ever seen. Be prepared to walk a lot. UNC fans are a bunch of babies and be prepared to want to punch some of them in the face while you are there, but hold back from doing so. Franklin Street uptown is a cool scene. Lots of hot girls walking around. Wake is a much different atmosphere. Stadium is not on campus but the non parking pass parking is real good across the street at the basketball arena. There are some bars across the street from the BB arena that are good enough if you don't want to tailgate. The BB lot isn't the best place to tailgate. The stadium is about the size if Info so all seats are real good. Games not sold out so you can buy a ticket. Sit on the Wake side on the end near the new scoreboard as the sun is brutal on the visitor's side. Wake fans are Ivy League type people as Wake is a great school. Old money people who never get too excited or too down. They clap politely. Since I have no school loyalty and just want to watch college football, Wake is the choice for me. It is also an hour closer to my house than Chapel Hill. Lots of hot 60 year old women walking around. It all depends on what you want to do. GP1, please define what a hot sixty year old woman looks like. Post pixs if you can. Being sixty-eight myself, I find that women in their forties are the ones I lust for. You are just an old troll pervert. Jane Fonda still looks good. Linda Carter sill looks good, Jacklyn Smith is still outrageously gorgeous I think all if them are aat least 60. Not sure though. I guess what I'm saying is if you are located in Hollywood and have a lot of money and freinds that know people , you may have a very miniscule chance of finding a hot 60 year old Suzanne Somers perhaps? I prefer two 30 year olds. Or three 20 year olds. Hopefully, six 10 year olds is out of the question. No, seriously though, tell me more about what constitutes a "HOT" 60 year-old.

Really nice breakdown. I love the flexibility of this lineup and see the endless possibilities against any team. We have to be a favorite in the MAC and the lineup is the kind that gives us a realistic chance beyond that. This is a team that COULD have given ND FITS!!!!

People would have laughed in 1985 if anyone speculated that the head coach at Notre Dame would soon be at Akron. I don't want Tressel. But if Ianello pulls-off another 1-11 season, we'll be in the market for a new coach, and Proenza will be looking for a way to fill a very expensive stadium that's drawing roughly 27,000 under capacity. Tressel is Angelina Jolie...but with herpes. Hot chicks aren't so unobtainable when they have herpes. What is the down side? We offer him a football scholarsip and he plays basketball. He wants to be a two-sport athlete? Icoach owes the university some of these. Take a chance on a kid who has marginal (or better) football talent (I think it's fair to describe many of our recent recruits this way). Even if he doesn't get 4-5 "football recruiting" stars, if he can get a basketball scholarship, HE'S GOT TO BE ABLE TO CATCH!!!!! I think we could really, really use a 6'3" kid with athletic ability and decent hands, couldn't we?
