  1. I have to say that this is one of the most thoughtful conversations on the state of zips athletics that I've seen on this board. There seem to be two schools of thought on TW and the state of "the program", athletics that is. One is that TW is improving the athletic department as a whole, and that's a good start. Second is that he totally botched the hiring of a football coach and needs to be judged soley on that decision. I'm in the middle. Alot of good things have happened under TW's tenure, but the football program is bad. I think overall 72 Roo says it best, "He's our coach and this is our team. I want them both to do well." If you don't feel this way, are you a true fan?
  2. As things look right now, tickets to both games should be easy to get. Chapel Hill is the easy choice since you will be right there. The statium is in the middle of campus with little parking. The best college football setting I have ever seen. Be prepared to walk a lot. UNC fans are a bunch of babies and be prepared to want to punch some of them in the face while you are there, but hold back from doing so. Franklin Street uptown is a cool scene. Lots of hot girls walking around. Wake is a much different atmosphere. Stadium is not on campus but the non parking pass parking is real good across the street at the basketball arena. There are some bars across the street from the BB arena that are good enough if you don't want to tailgate. The BB lot isn't the best place to tailgate. The stadium is about the size if Info so all seats are real good. Games not sold out so you can buy a ticket. Sit on the Wake side on the end near the new scoreboard as the sun is brutal on the visitor's side. Wake fans are Ivy League type people as Wake is a great school. Old money people who never get too excited or too down. They clap politely. Since I have no school loyalty and just want to watch college football, Wake is the choice for me. It is also an hour closer to my house than Chapel Hill. Lots of hot 60 year old women walking around. It all depends on what you want to do. GP1, please define what a hot sixty year old woman looks like. Post pixs if you can. Being sixty-eight myself, I find that women in their forties are the ones I lust for. You are just an old troll pervert. Jane Fonda still looks good. Linda Carter sill looks good, Jacklyn Smith is still outrageously gorgeous I think all if them are aat least 60. Not sure though. I guess what I'm saying is if you are located in Hollywood and have a lot of money and freinds that know people , you may have a very miniscule chance of finding a hot 60 year old Suzanne Somers perhaps? I prefer two 30 year olds. Or three 20 year olds. Hopefully, six 10 year olds is out of the question. No, seriously though, tell me more about what constitutes a "HOT" 60 year-old.
  3. Isn't he our first verbal?
  4. Really nice breakdown. I love the flexibility of this lineup and see the endless possibilities against any team. We have to be a favorite in the MAC and the lineup is the kind that gives us a realistic chance beyond that. This is a team that COULD have given ND FITS!!!!
  5. I don't see Clayton Moore on the new roster. Anybody know what's up?
  6. Instead of agreeing, you should slap them in the face and call them a bunch of bitches. Wait a minute Captain, I'm sorry I didn't read this before posting. You're take on this is right on. As Borat said a few years ago "US and A!!" Oh, his infatuation with Pamela Anderson is purely coincidental. KUCK FENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. People would have laughed in 1985 if anyone speculated that the head coach at Notre Dame would soon be at Akron. I don't want Tressel. But if Ianello pulls-off another 1-11 season, we'll be in the market for a new coach, and Proenza will be looking for a way to fill a very expensive stadium that's drawing roughly 27,000 under capacity. Tressel is Angelina Jolie...but with herpes. Hot chicks aren't so unobtainable when they have herpes. Captain, can we take that as confirmation that you have carnal knowledge of, let's say Pamela Anderson? I'm just saying........
  8. What is the down side? We offer him a football scholarsip and he plays basketball. He wants to be a two-sport athlete? Icoach owes the university some of these. Take a chance on a kid who has marginal (or better) football talent (I think it's fair to describe many of our recent recruits this way). Even if he doesn't get 4-5 "football recruiting" stars, if he can get a basketball scholarship, HE'S GOT TO BE ABLE TO CATCH!!!!! I think we could really, really use a 6'3" kid with athletic ability and decent hands, couldn't we?
  9. What is this nonsense about a "SNAFU" happening from Youtube Tom's staff? I thought they were the masters of Youtube.
  10. I used to love purple and orange as a combination. I was 5 years old!!!! Thankfully, I grew up.
  11. Although we didn't execute, I love the strategy. What do you think will happen next year when Zeke crushes somebody on 2 or 3 post moves early in the game (And it WILL happen)? It will open up the floor for countless scoring chances. KD always seems to be planning the next step. MAC foes beware!
  12. Winner, winner, chicken dinner. I don't think so, winner, winner, SHEEN dinner!!! If I was Charlie Sheen, I'd buy the Zips a new arena.
  13. This is pretty funny! You've got to go vote for Dakotah & Chauncey! One of the early favorites seems to be "Bubba Day." However, living in the south, I don't see how it's special. Down here, every day is Bubba Day.
  14. "A coach is someone who can give correction without causing resentment." - John Wooden I'm conflicted about him leaving sooner rather than later. Hopefully he will leave sooner because he wins a lot. If the opposite happens, it will be years more of misery. GP1, your wisdom and insight continue to impress me. I'm taking this quote to work!!!
  15. GP1, your wisdom and insight continues to impress me.
  16. This is really like a 3 V 14 matchup. ND is the lowest 2 seed and we are the highest 15 seed. I like our chances for 3 reasons: 1. Being much closer to home than 2009. 2. Better matchup in style of play. 3. Much better fan support from the indifferent fan(Because soooooooooo many people HATE ND). We have a chance to be a "Cinderella" this year, despite the incoherent ramblings of that f@!#king @ss from MSNBC, who probably only knows what a jock-strap is from his latest google search. GO ZIPS!!!
  17. Did I see a reference to the evil "Coleman Crawford" era? Let's not flushback to that time.
  18. Isn't this how things started in 2009? We lost 2 of our last 3. We play a first round game. If we win we play Miami. We have a "favorable" draw. I live in North Carolina and can't help but recalling the well-known Jimmy V mantra, "Don't give up, don't ever give up!" Let's rally around our team, especially our seniors, and BELIEVE that we can do this!!!!
  19. When watching Clayton's 2010 highlight video, I kept thinking to myself "Where is this receiver (#1) going? He can get open and he can catch the ball!" I'm not saying that we don't need to upgrade at QB, but it's not the only opportunity for us to improve.
  20. Yes, the puncuation in the title is intended. Who would have guessed the team we beat (twice)in '05, would beat us, sending us to an 0-5 record and put (watch for the reverse) 50 on the board against us? This was a heartbreaker. Not because we lost, but HOW we lost.
  21. After having a glimmer of hope last week, I'm expereiencing what addicts call a moment of clarity. I'm not concerned that we lost, but HOW we lost. We were totally dominated by, not a BCS team, but a MAC team that will probably finish 2nd or 3rd in the MAC West. How long is this transition going to take to show us some redeeeming quality? I'm begining to wonder if we might not be better off with a spread offense and the ol' 3-3-5 (just kidding, I hated that defense). But really, where have we improved since Syracuse?
  22. Jeremy get some stick'um put on his hands ala "The Replacements" and catches a D. Hixson-like game winner at the end. ZIPS WIN, THE ZIPS WIN 30-24.
  23. Did anyone see Braylon Edwards (NFL) get a penalty on a field goal? Do we have our best people on the field for FG/extra point attempts? I'm 500 miles away and have a Zips Zone subscription, but don't get to see every game. If we've got 2nd or 3rd teamers on the kick unit, you can put the blame whereever you like.
