  1. I arrived 10 minutes late. *Stevenson*Brenes*Koroma* *Fives*Souto*Foldesy* *Afsarifard*Gallego*Souders*Abdul-Salaam* *Pina* There was plenty of subbing and switching of positions. Many other guys saw big minutes. Two major takeaways: 1. Victor Souto (sp?) is the real deal! He would have cracked the starting 11 on last year's squad. Very appropriate he should wear the #6. 2. Fernando Pina can kick the ball much further than can David Meves. Where was Derschang? Where was Quinn? Well, we know these guys did not transfer.
  2. Andy, your point is well taken if not entirely accurate. Ben Zemanski played for Everest SC; his father was coach. Incidentally, Dan Zemanski has been promoted to Head Coach at Hiram College, a position vacated by our new acquisition, Carl Capellas. http://www.hiramterriers.com/sports/msoc/2.../20130214pj1rq5
  3. All who are able are encouraged to hit the road up I-77. CSU is not that far away. Krentzler Field will have an inflatable dome over the pitch, so it will not be uncomfortable. Admission is FREE. I will be noticing: Fernando Pina. Just how good is this guy? For all his short-comings, Meves still leaves gigantic shoes to fill. Andrew Souders. I anticipate him replacing Barson, in tandem with Gallego. This pairing is critical to 2013 success. Alfred Koroma. It is time for ready Freddie to realize his hunormous potential. Matthew Foldesy. In limited PT last year, he did not perform to (my) expectation. He likely feels the same. Somebody new. Who among last year’s bench will seize the opportunity. In fact, I open the challenge. Which returning player not earning a letter in 2012, earns one in 2013? See you on (or near) the pitch!
  4. Just jerking your chain. They may be delaying the announcement because not everything is settled with this Brazilian kid. I do not know. See you there tomorrow.
  5. I will continue to post on BigSoccer because it pleases me to do so. There will come a time in the near future when I will remind the folks you have listed above that part of their jobs is to disseminate pertinent information. I too will be there at CSU to see our boys. Will that be indoors? Does Krentzler field have a seasonal, inflatable dome?
  6. I go on BigSoccer frequently. Every 2 weeks, I post that Akron has yet to announce their recruiting class. It is now a bit of a joke. Some there have suggested that the coaching staff is ashamed. Say it ain't so! http://www.bigsoccer.com/community/threads...cments.1982152/
  7. Seriously! How long should we reasonably wait for announcement of 2013 recruiting class? Anyone got anything?
  8. "I just let Darlington go; the less you say to him the better" CP
  9. Field is still too small.
  10. Mohawk Rubber Company Mohawk Rubber Company [url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tire_companies"]
  11. Serna's near miss: Notice the defender (correctly) forcing Serna to his right foot. He cracked it anyway!
  12. Nope. Sorry. Never been to a tailgate before. What is it, anyway?
  13. Forgive me if I have written this elsewhere; I think I have. During the Porter farewell, 12/12/2012, Mikey remarked not once, but twice, that he really liked the Timbers jersey I was wearing. I thought it very curious at the time. Come to think of it, Pablo Moreira complimented me as well. Pretty slow on my part, I guess.
  14. This time of year in the desert SW, it usually is not even humid enough for any sort of precipitation whatsoever. Weird.
  15. Good thread! I watched. I get your point, and it definitely catches my interest. Not sure that I entirely agree. As an English major, I enjoy the idiomatic differences between our two languages. There are so many sayings I have adopted from English broadcasters, too many to count. “Oh, and he really should have done better with that.” “It was a chance to prove his quality.” “Arsenal is are more than happy to split the points away.” Regardless, if one has played, one can identify another who has played. The accent is only flavor. I too would like to see Wynalda get a color job. I also would like to hear more accents than just variations on English. Not quite ready for a foreign language broadcast, though I did watch many matches 2010 WC en Espanol (at my fav MexRes). Your Spanish is much better than mine.
  16. I should have publicly predicted this one as well. Could see this coming from miles away! Zemanski is the quintessential Porter player. I just hope Ben can push to start. I think I have been watching this kid since he was in 7th grade. One of my favorite Zips EVER.
  17. Where did you get this, Yaz? Nevermind. Got it. http://gozips.com/sports/msoc/2012-13/rele.../201302134a2kqe @ Maryland!?!? We will learn about our team soon enough.
  18. Someone on Embick's staff should be investigating Lucas Cawley. http://www.bigsoccer.com/community/threads....1973258/page-3

  20. Ouch! Perhaps this Brazilian MF will turn the tables. Not likely.
  21. Toronto FC, right?
  22. You may be ultimately right, but not in the near future. Plenty of MLS Academy players will sign with NCAA schools tomorrow.
