  4. Is it too soon give up and throw in the towel? 2010 Akron (47%, 4,165 Votes) 1998 Indiana (38%, 3,407 Votes) 2008 Maryland (15%, 1,321 Votes) 1993 Virginia (0%, 31 Votes) 1997 UCLA (0%, 26 Votes) Total Voters: 8,950
  5. At this rate, Indiana will overtake us tomorrow. 2010 Akron (48%, 4,101 Votes) 1998 Indiana (37%, 3,151 Votes) 2008 Maryland (15%, 1,321 Votes) 1993 Virginia (0%, 31 Votes) 1997 UCLA (0%, 26 Votes) Total Voters: 8,630
  6. We are losing ground! Don't claim you folks have lives. I know that's not true. Vote. Repeatedly. 2010 Akron (48%, 4,073 Votes) 1998 Indiana (36%, 3,001 Votes) 2008 Maryland (16%, 1,320 Votes) 1993 Virginia (0%, 31 Votes) 1997 UCLA (0%, 26 Votes) Total Voters: 8,451
  7. I was never clear on that myself.
  8. We are dipping near 50% again. Let us try to keep it above 50%. Keep voting. 2010 Akron (52%, 3,918 Votes) 1998 Indiana (30%, 2,261 Votes) 2008 Maryland (17%, 1,320 Votes) 1993 Virginia (0%, 29 Votes) 1997 UCLA (1%, 26 Votes) One can assume that each of the other programs listed here will win another College Cup Final. Safe to say? It pains me to say it, but Akron may never again compete in an NCAA Championship Final. In any sport. So, this vote means more to us than it does to them.
  9. Well done ZipsNation!
  10. Unfortunately, the best college soccer team of all time were the 2009 Akron Zips, who were not champions. 23-0-2.
  11. That actually sounds about right, give or take. Next step is for Porter to dominate MLS, and he is on the right track.
  12. Ha. So, that just happened today? We all saw that coming from afar, right? Here's to hoping Stevo can resurrect his career.
  13. I am disappointed and surprised that Eric Stevenson has not been offered an HG contract by Crew.
  14. If Stevo cannot get healthy, he may be done. Blair is done. Sinisa is getting old. Cruel realities of professional sports. If any of these guys get another chance, we all know where it will be.
  15. Will Gallego sign HG contract to Portland?
  16. Right. Go Lobos! I respectfully hate the ACC.
  17. Virginia has a teletron that shows replays. I want a teletron (or whatever they call it nowadays).
  18. It's as if gozips.com were run by amateurs or something. No. Wait. Do university students run it? http://gozips.com/sports/msoc/2013-14/rele.../2013120329r9sy EDIT: They fixed it. Thank-You.
  19. Caleb Porter's winning MLS Coach of the Year was nearly unanimous among voters. It comes as absolutely no surprise whatsoever. Well done Caleb Porter! http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2013...-term-contract- http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2013...oach-year-award
  20. It was a foul toward Brenes and should have been a PK. But I will not whine about it. It's futbol. More egregious was the elbow to Gallego's throat. That was red card territory. And I agree with TDS, he might have won the call if he hadn't gone for the Spam. In Bryan's defence, that is exactly where he was injured vs. PSU, so the slightest blow likely hurt like hell. Playing to the refs only works when done well. I hope Bryan has never considered a career in theatre.
  21. I had Bruins taking the Cup. Sad. There are many coaches who do more with less. Just sayin'.
  22. Yeah. Too bad Robert Warzycha couldn't have been fired last year.
  23. That is why we must get these first few matches at home. Marquette were good but not great. If Akron were to play Marquette 10 times, Zips would win 6 or 7 of those. (Not every match would be played on an ice-skating rink.) BTW, Virginia are nothing great either, just another good ACC team.
  24. That is hardly a surprise. Right?
  25. Perhaps a good idea, but the actual picture is awful.
