  1. How did you find this out already?
  2. SAW THIS ON BIGSOCCER: " Just heard this today...add Akron to the Bruin's 2012 schedule. I'm not entirely sure if it's planned to be an away or home match. But it seems like Akron has been seeking more games with West Coast opponents of last years road trips for the Zips are any indicator and I'm guessing Akron travels"
  3. ALL THE WAY NEXT SEASON
  4. I cannot imagine he will get a "full ride" especially as a freshman.
  5. Probably doesn't matter....only thing that matters is where he is in August.
  6. Any word on NLI signings for other incoming Zips?
  7. Played on Canada U17 world cup team and is from Ontario.
  8. While Koroma would be a great addition let's not forget that there are other commits who also need to sign.
  9. Maybe one of you internet saavy guys should check his FB page for info
  10. Really hits the nail on the head...thanks for the link.
  11. Oops..hope I din't jump the gun
  12. According to a post on Bigsoccer he has signed homegrown contract with Columbus.
  13. From Joe Mauceri on Top Drawer who watched combine games: Who had a good game(or played better than I expected)? Darren Mattocks (Akron) - created the first goal absorbing the pressure before getting the ball out to Brendan King. He blazed by Perry. I liked his leaping ability on the far post on set pieces. Who needs to improve? Luke Holmes (Akron) - had a rough day and he didn't really get going after entering the game in the second half. His passing and his dribbling weren't sharp. He made a nice sliding shot just. Previously, he plunked a shot wide after a terrific dribble and cross by Sam Garza. He's better than he's showed.
  14. How long ago were most of these guys in the program? I would venture a guess that it was quite a while ago. IF the residency program was conceived to make the US more competitive on the international stage then I don't think it has succeeded. I have not been overly impressed by the current college players who spent time in Bradenton. They seem no better then many of the guys who played for academy programs.
  15. My issue is that the residency program is a failure and ought to be scrapped. I don't think there is any objective evidence that the players produced by the Bradenton system are any better then those produced through the current Academy system. Bradenton MAY have served a purpose before the advent of the Academy but at this point it seems useless.
  16. I have thought that the program in Bradenton should have been closed a long time ago. I have seen kids play who have attended the residency program and i have never been impressed with the quality of their play.
  17. Probably because he doesn't deserve one.
  18. Andrew Souders and Dillon Serna did not play in any of the games either.
  19. I'll bet 10 bucks its Charlotte. You're on How do you guys even know this shtuff? "a source who wishes to remain anonymous"
  20. I totally disagree. Once in Europe,if you are playing and doing well, the opportunities are endless. Playing in the MLS is really a dead end as far as international play is concerned. I guess it comes down to what the player wants for a career.
  21. Nice! fantastic choice Darren! Wonder why he did not sign with a European club? There are so many positives to doing that.
  22. I'll bet 10 bucks its Charlotte. You're on
  23. I am not at all surprised since he dropped off of Porter's radar screen in mid season. Too bad because he is a great kid.
  24. Unfortunately turf toe can take quite a while to heal.
