  1. I'm thinking ICS Family Section is GA... just like RB now.. you are right is in upper deck endzone to 20 yard line.. http://www.gozips.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_...CRIBER_CONTENT=The ticket office was thinking I wanted Family as well... they told me the second deck is not really that high up -- I think the field itself is actually dug out...
  2. Renewed my tickets for 2008 and bought the Founders Package for 2009... while discussing the details, the person taking my order informs me that UA will have a special day where I can go into Infocision and pick out my seats!!Cule!!!
  3. http://www.footballstadiumdigest.com/news/...?article_id=119Dix Stadium enters 21st century with new scoreboard 05/12/2008 10:16 AMIf you can't beat them on the gridiron, beat them in the video department. Dix Stadium, home of the Can't State Golden flushes, is considered one of the better Midwest Athletic Conference facilities around. This fall, the school will add one of Daktronics' latest innovations, a XD-X LED video scoreboard. It is 60 feet high and should be easily visible from all 30,000 seats. The video capabilities alone are 36 x 20, pretty good size for a place like Dix. The new board is expected to be in place in time for the home opener Sept. 13 against Delaware. With this purchase, Can't State is stepping up in class. It is the same board used by Auburn, the NFL Pittsburgh Steelers and baseball's Kansas City Royals. That will be the second game the Golden flushes play in Ohio in 2008. On August 30, they will face Boston College at the Browns' stadium in Cleveland.
  4. http://www.gozips.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPI...;ATCLID=1449343Does anyone know, do we have to call in now or should we wait for the mailer from the Ticket office??I assume that prior season ticket holders waiting for mailers still get their same seating for 08??
  5. Our own students and our own media think so. Even after the recent successes. From the Buchtelite 5/1/08:". . . but let's be honest, the professional sports world is a lot more interesting than the happenings of the Akron Zips."http://media.www.buchtelite.com/media/stor...e-3358961.shtml
  6. FWIW .. My wife graduated from UA's Nursing school .. from what I observed, there is no way you can play a college sport and take the Nursing Program course work.... there are many times when only one class session is offered --- you must take them in a particular order or you will fall behind.. you only have a certain amount of time to complete your degree --- also, almost every level requires a Clinical Element -- these are assigned by the school and are usually at local hospitals.... these are 3-4 days a week and for a full shift 8-12 hours. You must be there or you are booted from the program.... As a sophomore, she was probably facing this dilemma -- tough situation-- she got in over her head and has made her choice and went to another school where the pressure was less intense... I can understand that. Sorry to see her go..... this is why most athletes are not in medical school or nursing school... both require a HUGE investment of time and energy.
  7. http://www.hoopsjunkie.net/blog718/index.p...out-our-league/On The MAC: What Does Can't State Being Routed Say About Our League?UNLV spanks Can't State 71-58Nothing good, that’s certain. The main problems with the MAC that leave our squads unprepared for Big Dance play are the abyss in quality that are the bottom four or so teams in the league and the lack of atmosphere at gyms throughout the league, no matter where a team is. Combine the two and the result is toxic and leaves our champ unprepared for the NCAA Tournament. According to Ken Pomeroy, the MAC had five teams with RPIs of 200 or worse as opposed to UNLV’s league, the Mountain West, which had only two sides — Wyoming (219) and Colorado State (265) — with RPIs greater then 200. Having nearly half the league with RPIs in the lowest tertile is problematic. Every MAC Athletic Director knows attendance, particularly that of student sections, which are noisier and more disruptive than regular fan sections at other schools, is a problem. No gym in the MAC compares to gyms in the Atlantic 10, Missouri Valley, or Mountain West, when it comes to atmosphere. I’m not saying that Can't State ^&%&%#!!! the bed against UNLV can be blamed entirely on the bottom of the MAC being so abysmal or gyms being quieter than confessionals but it is a factor.

  9. Three guesses:1) LBJ Court at Nike Arena 2) Nike/LBJ helps Akron upgrade the schedule with an Akron Tournament or something like the old Acme Zip Game in football..3) New Uni's and shoes....

  11. I hate the Beacon just like the rest of you guys..but I think your overreacting on this one...The main reason no coverage in BJ was that the game ended after 11:30 pm.. the Beacon is a morning paper... it is already done and being prepped for printing....It's a little unrealistic to expect the Beacon to hold the presses up for late games... they don't do it when the Cavs or Indians are out west either.OSU was done by the time UA-FSU started. You can blame the NIT/ESPN for the start time. The story will be in Wednesday's edition.... As for ESPN.... ESPNU and Classic had several highlights from the game as well as ESPN.com.... ESPN360 had the entire game live and is still there for replay.Local TV... do people still watch that??? ESPN Game Highlights..... Click Watch Highlights
