NZF wow it has been a while many people have been asking about you lately. You have a ton of catching up to do. Glad to have you back!

DB's a strength on defense? Since when? That's certainly good news. I certainly can see some freshman stepping in to provide some extra reinforcement on the D-Line. Brian Wagner didn't make all those tackles at the line of scrimmage. Its because so many times the offense made it to the second level. How many 2nd and short situations have we seen the last couple of years? Our save and grace sounds like will be Presley. It will be exciting to watch someone who can get pressure on the QB. Lets also remember that the offense did really well against our defense last year in the spring game...and we all watched as we tallied up the worst offensive stats in the country throughout the season. Its really hard to gauge at this point what we got.

Spring Practice #2

Pleasantly surprised at all the positive energy and that we now have a writer that is feeding it all to us. GT is makin' it happen. ...I love every second of watching the video and it leaves me begging for more. If I'm having this much fun as a fan I hope all of this is gonna turn from talk into results. Go ZIPS!!!

Smith worked out with the receivers today ... redshirt freshman Cody Grice, listed as a fullback on the official roster, took reps on the defensive line. He is a product of nearby Firestone HS. Sounds good to me.

I just can't stop listening to this guy and I find it hard to believe that he hasn't already done so much for the program that we have to see success. He's made me a big time believer. Everything just seems to be falling perfectly into place. I can't help but think MAC Championships and bowl games!! I can't wait till the Spring game and God willing outside in the stadium! Go ZIPS!!!

I had the same feeling. Its just so hard to believe that there isn't some level of skill there. You just look at what some of them accomplished in high school and its hard to understand how they could all look so average in a workout situation..... someone will step out.

With our boys done for the season is basketball..How about some football!! The spring game is right around the corner. How many players did we have on the spring roster last year? Rivals - Demetrius Monday

Yea, I believe it was his first year on Varsity under a new staff so I'm not quite sure if he was playing a new positions (at TE/DE) and wasn't typically used to playing there but man alive I dont know how many times I would be in the stands screaming at the kid "Just tackle the QB HES RIGHT THERE!!"At Green typically if you any size at all you are pretty much on either OL/DL and I suspect that he grew much taller than he did outward so the staff put him at TE (this is all speculation Im not really familiar with his past football experience) they would throw dump passes to him and at time were very successful. Maybe he can get coached up or maybe I'm being overly critical because he made errors that left me scratching my head at critical parts of games this past season. But maybe 6'5 230 speaks loudly?!?! Andrew Pratt that just signed with the Zips is a much more talented athlete. Heres a roster for Green: fridaynightohio.com

^^^ I hate how they say Uniontown, OH because Green is a City in and of it self. Oh well. The OHSAA site and Gozips.com lists Green as Uniontown. Who knows? I'm a little nervous that they offered Christian so early. Good for him but really he is a big kid that times doesn't have very much control of his body. I don't know how many times this past season he would be literally 1 foot away from sacking the QB and then would run right by him. Tons oof missed tackles. On offense had many missed catches that hit him in the chest. I'm sure his highlights and physical stats show otherwise but I was not very impressed with him. IMO

Being Held at UofA Field House Did the current staff work to get this set up? I love the idea. Marketing genius.

NZF. They are certainly trying to temper your enthusiasum...but I think thats exactly the kind of negative thinking that holds a school like Akron back. What if instead of pissing on our own team we got behind them and invited 20 of our friends out to the games, had tailgates, talked them up(not down), bought season tickets....spread the word and spread some excitement. How big of an impact would that have on our team? How do you think the players would feel to actually come out of the tunnel to 30,000+ fans on their feet giving it everything they got? It would certainly to a HUGE boost. Or we can drag ourselves to go to the game wearing our OSU gear and sit on our hands. Our choice. So many negative posts. bbuuttt WHAT IF? and how can we as fans support the cause and not just say....oh we suck no ones gonna come blah blah blah. I'm a believer. Go ZIPS!!!
