  1. I have a funny feeling the D is going to come up big tonight. They have really started to play better. Besides I think are stats on D would have looked better if we played Liberty instead of Virginia.
  2. That guy is an ASS. I bet if anybody asked Coach Groh of Virginia he would have loved to have Charlie as his QB for 4 years. And as far as the Zips being the butts of jokes.......My friends it will not stop until the Zips start to win and continue to win for a few years. Lets start winning tonight.
  3. Capn' is the Man.
  4. Hey Dump Akron Football Dick!!!!!!! F Off
  5. Ok Here is a Brilliant thought Lets bring Owens and company back so we can still lose game but score points. Cause you know it just looks better to lose when you score points. Give me an F'ing break. I think I have finally figured this one out it is not the school, staff,or players that suck but the fans!!!!!! Now not all the fans but the fans who would rather have a losing coach back just so when he loses his teams at least score, instead of keeping a coach who in his first year loses his first three games. And two of the games are aganist BCS schools F'ing Stupid!!!!!! IN JD I STILL TRUST!!!!!!!
  6. Come Zips fan don't throw the towel in yet. I would say Virginia is really that good.
  7. Yes the Zips look to the start of the real season the MAC season. I really thought they would be 1 - 2 at this point. They should have won last week but oh well it is over no on to Can't. Yes they offense was terrible today but come on VA has one hell of a team. Frenchy said this was the best team the Zips have faced since Nebraska. And they won the championship that year. This game is huge. They need a win and who better to beat than Can't. Come Zips forget today and get ready for the MAC Season!!!! BTW, I just saw MTSU lost to Flordia Atlantic 27 - 20 at home. I said it after the game and I will say it now MTSU sucks the Zips gave that game away!!!!
  8. Yes it is a misprint. It should say 206. But the defense is giving up 474 total yards per game.
  9. Attn: Dave. I was just having some fun with you.
  10. Hey Big Dave Your big bad Hoo's should be kicking butt on saturday. When you get blue chip players you are supposed to do that. I really didn't need you to come over to the Zips board and tell me that.
  11. Well then I gues you have to choices: 1. Try to have a decent conversation about the game saturday. 2. Kiss my and We have a nice little boad with or without you!!!!!
  12. The best way to fix the Zips is to have them fix themselves. They need to suck it up, practice their 's off, and go out there saturday and play the best game of there lives. Going all out for 60 mins and leaving it all out on the field. What I really want to see the rest of the season is to see MY Zips continue to improve each week and give their all every game for 60 mins. . If that happens the wins will come in the MAC!!!! the Hoo's
  13. My thoughts and answers to some question above. First of all Zipdude. No problem buddy. I'm just sorry I didn't get to see you. We will catch uo with each other sooner or later. To evrybody wanted to fire the OC Pry. Sorry but JD is calling most of the play so he is your guy to be pissed at. But I do agree the running back up the middle on first doen sucks how about throwing a play action every now and then. Now the offense: The oline did not look very good but I agree with Zipboy it's hard for Charlie to get rid of the ball when nobody is open. The WR needs to be more aggressive and try to get open and when Charlie is running for his life come back to him. But this is a sign of a very young and inexperienced WR group. Zipdue if what you say about the line not playing for there coach is true then sorry but I say that is crap. In the real world you are not alwyas goingto like your boss but you still have to work hard. I say suck it up to then and quit bitching and play with some pride or get on the damn bench. Biggs is the man. THe little guy is a tough runner and should do very well in MAC play. I say if Kennedy is play on special teams put him at #2 RB. Give the boy a shot!!!!! Sorry Jerrel but until you run north and south with a purpose you should be on the pines. I thought Charlie had just an ok game saturday. He was locked in on his WR to mant times and needed to look off the coverage more. Also #81 was wide open on the oppsite side of the field alot somebody needed to see that and tried to get the ball to him. I was going to beak down the D but hell everybody has said there peace. I just think there are a couple great players and the rest or ok players until they get more great players on the field the other teams with get yards and points.
  14. Thanks to the PD Marshall bound for the Zips Thursday, September 09, 2004 Bob Fortuna Plain Dealer Reporter For the second time in a week, a Maple Heights player has committed verbally to a Division I college. Terricko Marshall, a 6-3, 240-pound defensive end-of fensive tackle who was ranked the 54th-best senior in Ohio High Magazine, announced he will attend Akron. "I like the coaches at Akron, the school is close to home and the new facility is very nice," said Marshall, who visited Pittsburgh, North Carolina, Toledo and Indiana. "Indiana offered me a scholarship, but I'm family oriented and going to Akron will give my family a chance to attend a lot of games." One of The Plain Dealer's pre-season top 30 players, Marshall accounted for six sacks, 12 quarterback hurries, two fumble recoveries and 14 other tackles for losses last season in helping the Mustangs win their first outright Lake Erie League Erie Division championship. Marshall bench-presses 350 pounds, squats 550 pounds, runs the 40 in 4.7 seconds and hopes to become a dentist. On Tuesday, Marshall's teammate, Richard Quinn, committed verbally to North Carolina. "I'm very happy for Terricko and very proud of him," Maple Heights coach Jeff Rotsky said. "He's come along way, both as a player and a person." 15. I will be there. I will look you up ZipDude. Are you in the same seats as last year???? Just don't get to friendly......
  16. I read an article from a Pittsburgh paper today and it says that Pittsburgh would only release Luke once he told them what school he wanted to go to. And if that school was Akron they probably would NOT grant his release. The article also said that earlier this year a player asked for a release to goto Akron and was denied. I guess the Zips and Panther are considering playing each other if the NCAA goes to a 12 game schedule and this is the reason they don't want kids to goto Akron. But I think Harris is just pissed that kids want to leave him and follow Coach Brookhart. Just my 2 cents time will tell...........
  17. I called the ticket office today and I was told that the season tickets mailed out this morning. So you should get them by Monday and maybe Saturday if you live close. Enough of this BS talk this get it ON!!!!!!! On a little reply to RooDude....... If you anit happy here why don't you take your 20 min NW to the Drug Capital of the State.
  18. Well on the page you linked it has (abc) next to the Akron vs PSU game. So I would think that ABC would have the game on plus you could see it on gameplan if the ABC in your area did not have. Just my thoughts........
  19. F Penn State....... The Zips have a new fire under them....new coaching staff.... They have alot to prove this year. So don't worry Penn State better have there a game cause the Zips will be smoking.
  20. Should the title of this post be Calling All Rug Munchers............
  21. I agree Z-P. This game would put them and the university on the map. Classic!!!!!
  22. Theinsiders.com has him listed a little different than rivals.com. I still see him as a CB or WR and not a QB. Jerome Lindsay Ht: 5-9 Wt: 195 Position: QB Projected as: QB Position Rank: NR Class: 2005 Senior High School: Forestville HS (Forestville, MD)
  23. There is not much info on this guy. I see him as a DB. Jermaine Lindsey Athlete (MD) Forestville Height: 5-foot-11 Weight: 150 pounds 40-yard dash: 4.5 seconds Akron (solid verbal) Cincinnati Syracuse Temple Can't Marshall
  24. yea I think that will clear his head........
  25. This is from a PA newspaper. Penn State opens its foot ball season Sept. 4 against Akron, and less one thinks this will be a can of corn for the Nittany Lions, be advised to think again. For one, there are no "gimmes" for teams coming off a 3-9 season like Penn State. But even more importantly, Akron will arrive at State College with one of college football's top quarterbacks in senior Charlie Frye, a 6-4, 228-pound gunslinger that the MAC school is already pushing for the Heisman Trophy. Frye already has 8,426 career passing yards and is considered one of the Top 15 senior NFL prospects. The school has already mailed a slick 81/2 x 11 Heisman promotional sheet on Frye, whose 63.6 percent completion rate ranks No. 5 in MAC history. Said Gil Brandt, an NFL draft expert, on the promo sent by the school: "He [Frye] can be the third MAC quarterback over the last three years to be chosen in the first round of the NFL draft." So while the opener may be little-known Akron in five weeks, it might not be so easy for Penn State....
