We can't offer what AAC teams offer, either. That's the part that *might* change, but it's still pretty unlikely. -

All kidding aside...I do wonder if Moorhead would rather the winner know nothing about football coaching...or be someone who HAS coached at some level before.

They certainly may. The key is going to be "is Poffenbarger a good MAC QB?" If he is, Akron can win the whole darn league. If he's not, Akron will win 3 or 4 games.

That's just it - if Goodrich is going to leave (and, let's be honest he's probably looking for a better paying gig, though you can live comfortably on the UA salary, I'm sure)...they gotta make sure his successor keeps the forward momentum going, or it'll be as if it never happened.

The Athletic Department has been so passive and just not engaging with the community for so long that it's just going to take time. If this promotion kick starts a bit, that's a good start.

Ah yes Akron's radio play by play voice wouldn't have seen anything in practices or in talking with coaches to make us think "hey this guy might surprise."

Seems like the sort of thing you could see them do for the Pop Tart Bowl too, given how screwy that thing has become.

He's here in 27 unless he quits. They can't afford to pay the buyout. That said even if they could 6-6 would make him completely safe.

Gotta wonder if they don't do Akron on one of the Tuesdays - it's not the day of the "playcalling" event, but who knows. That this is even a consideration...

If this is the Moorhead we usually got speaking publicly, I think we'd all think a little better of him.

Honestly zero, because Moorhead still will be relaying the call, so he's got the final say and can change it.
