  1. There's a difference between graduating and being prepared to succeed in the real world. It's not difficult to graduate athletes that are poor students if you hire enough GAs and full time staff members to do their work for them... There are some SEC schools that could probably graduate a gold fish if it benefited them to do so.
  2. Did anyone else see this in Tom's e-mail yesterday? Looks like the department wants your feedback about logos and such: As part of our ongoing IMPACT 2020 Strategic Plan, we are seeking feedback from everyone associated with Zips Athletics regarding our brand identity. We have developed a survey to understand your thoughts on our brand – meaning logos, colors, merchandizing, etc. Click here to access the survey. We have some great prizes if you would like to provide your contact information as well. We look forward to hearing from you!
  3. When the facility is finally renovated, the student section will be made one continuous section from the floor to the ceiling. That will help. There is just no way I see them being moved to the side at this point, given the various circumstances.
  4. Opposing team tickets only make up a portion of that section and they are required to be located there.
  5. The lower level is completely sold out in season tickets. There is nowhere to put students unless the department literally kicks season ticket holders out. Not happening. The simple fact is that Akron students are disengaged in general. Various giveaways have been tried throughout the last several years with varying results. How much do you think the University has to spend to bribe students to show up?
  6. While it may not be quite as exciting (if you consider watching a 9-seed in the Championship game exciting), the current format is designed to protect the best teams from the regular season and give them the best shot of earning the NCAA bid. The better the team is from the MAC in the NCAA tournament, the better chance they could win in the tournament and earn the league money.
  7. ^^ What he said. Deep breaths people.
  8. Do yourself a favor and go cheer for a different team. I'll stick with these guys and enjoy the rest of the season as the team improves and competes for another MAC Championship and NCAA bid.
  9. You clearly didn't read what I wrote. WE WERE BAD TONIGHT, but my god, don't go jump off a bridge. Nothing went our way today. The sun will come up tomorrow and the team will get back at it and try to get better.
  10. Like I said, go pour yourself another drink and take a DEEP breath. Merry Christmas!
  11. You guys are hilarious. Clearly we aren't playing well tonight, but get a clue. We are playing a decent team with good athletes on a neutral court. This team just destroyed St. Mary's the other day. Certainly not the way we'd like to play, but this is not season-ending by any stretch. Take a deep breath and go pour yourself another glass of eggnog. EDIT: I take back my previous description of SC.
  12. The Defense Scout team is comprised of offensive players and vice-versa (the D Scout team runs the opposing team offense to prepare the Zips D for the upcoming game). Hakeem is a RB and could be a special one over the next three years.
  13. The University had nothing to do with this... It was an Aeros promotion.
