I was told by someone I respect, and don't think he would have any reason to lie, that Tressel was not on campus last Saturday. I believe him. you can believe your guy...but UA is a big campus and it's not like no one saw him, plenty of people did.

Would you want really want him to agree with you that there's no pride/leadership? And how exactly does a member of their staff defending their players mean that this team is in big trouble? No, my biggest issue is that this defense of the team was the biggest showing of team pride that i've seen all year....and it came from a grad assistant. And disagreeing is one thing, writing an essay on why i'm an asshole is ridiculous. I just think it's a good example of where this team is as a unit. Someone needs to man up and take responsibility. And trust me, i'm very calm and relaxed. I have plenty of faith in Keith Dambrot getting these guys ready eventually. Problem is, if we keep tanking it and don't figure it out sooner rather than later, we can say 'bye-bye' to the first round bye in the MAC tourney. I know I know, "we've been in this situation before"...not exactly. This team is different from the other early season slumps. These guys are losing the ENTIRE game, not just for stretches of each game. They are being out-hustled and out-played by teams on equal or lower talent levels. I can handle a team losing with some effort, i can't respect a team that goes down with a whimper and beats themselves. I already had to watch a team this fall do that for 12 games. We haven't started MAC play and you're worried about losing a 1st round bye? It's a marathon, not a sprint. If they start playing .500 ball within the conference, I'll start worrying with you. Until then, I think you're overreacting. That's the thing, these games are what builds you for the big games coming in january. It's not like we are playing close games where we play up to our opponents ability. We LOOK BAD and that's not a good sign. I hope i'm wrong, but the way it looks now, you'll likely be worrying with me come February. All that said, i'm still 100% behind the team and won't miss a game. This saturday is tough with the women's team having such a big one, but CSU is like a mini Can't State game...it's big.

So no pro squad in your HOME country? You know the MLS ? You couldn't pay me to root for Cowlumbus anything. We really don't have a pro team in the area so i basically just support the entire MLS, in particular the teams that have Zips alumni on them.

Want a good example of why this team is in big trouble? I wrote a blog post calling out the zips for lack of leadership and pride (BEFORE the MTSU game) and i received a hate-filled "rebuttal" from one of their grad assistants. He spent easily an hour on a two-page thing. It just shows how we complain and make excuses rather than go out and get it done. I have half a mind to put the whole thing up here but I don't want to out the guy and do any more harm to this program. Saturday will be a great test to see if we really have anything in the way of heart or character...and it wont be about winning or losing, just the effort.

Zips USMNT I can't bring myself to loyally follow a team across an ocean or continent.

btw...Akron hockey won 7-6 in a thriller last night. The game had dozens of penalty minutes, 5 serious fist throwing fights, one MASSIVE beatdown by an Akron defenseman on a Golden Bears player, and an amazing two goals in two seconds midway through the second period. Greg Revak had a hat trick and the game winner late in the third. Great game and GREAT turnout by Rowdies/students...their goalie was hearing "worst goalie in the world" chants and getting lots of harassment all night.

I'm up for whatever name we change our group to, as long as it's not rooligans..i despise it.
