Let's finish the season 4-0 and silence the critics once and for all. Go Zips, it starts with a win on Saturday.

That's because mine objectively is. Look, there are different models of the atom: none of them are wrong, but some are definitely more right than others. JJ Thomson (discoverer of Electrons) wasn't wrong...Rutherford was just more right. And even Rutherford's model wasn't the whole picture. But to equate all views as equal is inherently dishonest. Because they aren't. I was more being critical of the point that "all opinions are created equal" because that's a load of crap. They aren't.

This is the kind of statement that is logically consistent. It isn't time to crown the Zips MAC E Champions, and it's not time to declare us as awful failures. Yet it seems some here try to make excuses for those who want to declare the Zips as awful failures.

Of course everyone's going to believe their own opinion is right. But not all opinions are created equal. I at least attempt to be consistent and give a thorough explanation as to why I believe what I do.

I hope it's the game where he, uncharacteristically struggles, throws several interceptions, a pick-six and a fumble or two. You know the character building experience that he will learn from.

I don't agree. There aren't always two true sides to a story. Some sides are greater than others, simply because there is logical consistency and objectivity. Go back and look at this post where we made predictions on the season. We've preformed better than most of the nay-sayers predicted, and the nay-sayers are STILL crying like babies. That's logically inconsistent. At the very least they should be holding reservation and saying "hey we're not as bad as I thought...let me wait a couple of more games" instead of finding every reason to be mad. Now this could change by the end of the season. But you don't get to say both sides are equal. They aren't. We are objectively better than most people thought we would be at this point in the season. So the snowflakes can stop melting until there's actually something worth melting-down over.

And no one cares...

It kinda does take that tone though. Whenever the Zips win, excuses are made to point out why they sucked or coulda done better. Whenever they lose, all the bad things are continually harped on and used as an excuse for why the Zips need to go in a different direction. It's like you're damned if you do, damned if you don't. The nay-sayers were quick to point out how much lack of talent there was on the defense. But since we've entered league play, you can see our Defense is a lot better than most originally thought, and there does seem to be a level of young depth that should be interesting to follow on both sides of the ball. But the Nay-sayers don't mention that, and still focus on how awful the team is. The WMU game was a huge win. Could we have scored more points? Yes. Were there some bad calls? Yes. But did they lose the game? No. Zips teams of the past would have found a way to lose that game. Instead they found a way to hold on and win. Yet the Nay-Sayers still can't say anything positive about this team.

Here is the updated list. With these past weekend's games, Toledo and Ohio have secured Bowl eligibility, and Only BGSU has been officially eliminated. Next week is do or die time for a lot of teams "In The Hunt" at the bottom end of the MAC. They essentially have to win-out to break even for eligibility. Now for an update on the standings. There is absolutely no excuse for why Akron can't come away with 3 more wins. And the MAC East looks like it's going to come down to Akron vs. Ohio, as we all expected. We'll see how tough Miami is up against Ohio this weekend. Go Redhawks, hopefully they can show just enough to make Ohio stumble. Ohio Still has Toledo on the docket, which should be the measuring stick leading up to our game with them. Looks like EMU is back in the cellar unfortunately. Yeah not sure. Looking at the MAC right now it's difficult to say, because (up until yesterday's games) everyone was still (technically) eligible. For here on out everything is STILL in Akron's court, despite ZG01 and K92 meltdowns over on the other side of the forum. Buffalo, Miami, Ohio and Kent. All four of these games are winnable.

Exactly. I expected us to be 4-4 at this point of the season with a win over Iowa State or Troy instead of WMU. So I personally can't complain.
