Indeed. Winning the next two games would mean 2-post season games. Totally agree with this. When Sands got hurt I put my palm to my face and said "are we really THIS snake bitten!?" Because it literally feels like every single time we have a chance at something special...SOMETHING happens to derail it.

If the Zips go 6-6 there's no way Terry gets fired. Sorry folks. Bowl game, win or loss. 2-bowl games in 6 years is enough to guarantee coming back, especially when your previous bowl total was one game...in 10 years...scratch that, 20ish years since joining D-1 football? I'm not saying that as a Bowden Cheerleader...I'm saying that as the reality of our circumstance unfortunately. Akron football has been that bad, for that long.

My prediction: Kato Nelson will start at QB. Off of a full week of practice. Go Zips.

I don't know if anyone brought it up or not (I haven't seen it) but they had Bowden on ESPN Cleveland 850 WKNR last night. His comments were as follows: -Tommy Woodson broke a team rule, and it will be a game-day decision...because in college you don't need to tell the other team till gameday -Bowden said the decision for Tuesday Night games was "above his pay grade" but he believes it's not good for the fans, good for national exposure and the players like it...but it's difficult to get the family and kids to watch a ballgame because it's a school night. -Bowden Said the words: Tuesday Night Games are terrible for your local fans, and hurts ticket sales. Those were really the things of note.

Welcome to the board! As several other members have mentioned: You can park anywhere with your parking pass (as a student) and any gate will allow you entry into the stadium. The best student section is right next to the band.

I don't see Akron Athletics putting ANYTHING out there. Like anything... Didn't we have a night-game "blackout" a couple of years ago when BGSU came to town with us in legitimate contention as well? They organized, in advance, the scholarship giveaway that night. Seems like a thing they should do for this game too...apparently no one gives-a-damn over there to think about these things.

Except most students aren't of legal drinking age...Maybe juniors, and mostly seniors would be. You're excluding half the student-body, and the ones most likely to be living on campus.

Love seeing a win last night! During the first half the "this is going to be a rough year". Second half they settled down and chipped away/wore CSU down to win by 10. Nice way to start the year for sure. Its a struggle for me to read through the comments, I don't know ANY of the new guys yet (which is like the whole team)! Hopefully we can build off the success. In other news: Good day for the MAC, all teams are 1-0 except Ball State and NIU (who did not play).

There's a big difference between Ohio State and Akron. I mean c'mon man. OSU regularly has 2 QBs sitting on the bench that could be starters in the other 120 D-1 programs. It's hardly a fair comparison. The best we can hope for is to have a competent young back-up who looks to be the future. We've seen that a lot with other MAC programs, and looks like we've got potential with our program here. If being a top MAC program is what we're aiming for, that's all we can ask for. We're never going to get the kinda depth that the Big guys get.

My prediction is Kato Nelson will be the starting QB, and will be for the remainder of the season.

I remember that game well. I was one of the few calling for a Zips win. We played them pretty well the year before as well. So we're not necessarily outmatched in this one either. I personally would like to see Bowden and co. pull out all the stops in this one.

They're also on 6-day turnover we're on a full week. Maybe that'll help too
