WKWK disappears for many minutes at a time. I am happy we are playing so well but I wonder what would happen if we had a real #10 that didn’t go backwards all the time.

Emil is the best striker I have ever seen at Akron. I don’t have the history some of the others do on here but I have had season tickets since 2013 and watching him play, shoot and pass is impressive. I went to 3 home games this year (the Guardians took priority). Ohio State, I can’t even remember the other game (it was that unmemorable) and tonight. This is a different team than vs Ohio State. I dare to say this reminds me of another run to the College Cup when we got hot and Marcel Zajac played out of this world……..let’s keep it up. We still have a lot of work to do.

Bad loss….reminds me of a Hartwick game about 10 years ago where we outshot Hartwick something like 24-2 and lost 2-0. This season is spiraling out of control….I didn’t go tonight because I would rather watch the Guardians and I have had season tickets for over 10 years…. Not good….

All I can tell you is my interest level is waining. I want championships….I have been to the College Cup to see Akron lose and that is not fun but last night was one of the worst performances I have ever seen from an Akron team in the 10 years I have had season tickets. Michigan 3 years ago and a 0-0 tie was an awful game, losing to Hartwick was awful but last night was terrible. It was a shame, such a beautiful night outside and such an awful performance. There is still time to turn it around but .500 is not acceptable.

Honestly in the last number of games the Akron offense has been nonexistent. Henry is hurt, Clapier is coming off injury and that leaves us Shook. No other offense to speak of. I would like to see Wilson at goal although I have no idea if Budler could have done better on the goal. We might miss the NCAA tourney.

What you are saying is completely incorrect…Akron’s RPI was top 20. In fact they ended the year at 16. I don’t disagree with most of your other points. The problem is money and Akron doesn’t have any.

Akron men’s soccer has not won an NCAA tournament game since 2018 (someone can correct me if I am wrong). That is not acceptable. The standard is NCAA National Championships not losing in the first round or not making the tournament. YipaZip - the standard is the standard and we have fallen below expectations. So it is a fair statement that we have lost relevance. One other note why do we continue to talk about women’s soccer on the men’s soccer board? This needs moved to another section.

This is exciting news….let’s continue to add talent to the roster.

I respectfully disagree - the only people at the games are parents. I don’t know that it still happens but I know a men’s ticket used to get you in free to watch a woman’s game. If the men’s team doesn’t get close to filling up the stadium like 10 years ago unfortunately the women’s team doesn’t have a chance. Couple that with the poor performance on the field …they are in a tough situation. Nothing like showing all the MAC championships, NCAA appearances and College Cup appearances on the one side of the fence (up until last year) and the one MAC East title in 2009 for the women (if memory serves me right). No disrespect to the women’s team. I hope they win the national championship but like I stated before the attendance shows if people care. That being said….Good luck to them in the upcoming season. It is time to turn the program around. Winning will make people care.

The problem is that no one cares about the woman’s program. So if they signed players or didn’t sign players….it doesn’t matter.
