That comment is simply untrue, and it bothers me that you would post it. The people posting on this site have kept comments towards the players above-board. That is one thing that separates our site from other fan forums.

Even the comments regarding the coaching staff (Bowden/Milwee) have been very measured. Your hypersensitivity to the topic doesn't make it otherwise.

There were a few digs at Alex. They may have been deleted, but in real time, they were there.

As fans (and certainly as parents) it's tough to watch a young player go through the process of growth. We'd like them to be 100% ready and prepared as soon as they step on the field.

QB is probably the hardest position in sports - there's only roughly 1000 +/- people on the planet that can do what D1 QBs can do (counting the NFL guys plus all the D1 QBs on rosters right now).

There is a growth process that takes live games reps to be a catalyst. KN1 has grown a lot with his playing time last year and this year as you would expect.

Takes a lot of guts for a parent to come here, knowing people are going to be taking swipes at your kid.

Looking forward to watching Alex grow into the position.

Who do you blame it on? The refs? The coaches are the ones who recruit the players. The coaches are the ones responsible for developing the players. The coaches are the ones who make the game plans. The coaches are the ones who call the plays. This isn't the NFL where coaches have to coach the roster their GM provides them. Bowden and Milwee hand picked every player they have on the offensive side of the ball.

I guess I do bot have some psychological need to cast blame, I can accept that sometimes things work out beyond what can be mitigated. In other words, I am more pragmatic. Blame does not translate to accountability, it just transfers your responsibility for your emotional response to someone else.

  4. Whatever...the same people keep harping on the same points that we already have 2 other threads devoted to beating the dead horse. It really gets old. This is G5 life, folks. and it isn't going to change. The NCAA is content to let talented kids sit on P5 benches and never see the light of day while their coaches promise them a chance they will never get.

Eh.  Whatever.  Our opinion doesn't much matter.   It's up to Williams, Green, and the Trustees.  That million from South Carolina may save our program...pay off the penalty for early term and have plenty leftover.

It's a good thing....they have a better ability to see big piccture than some, here, who blame every single loss on coaching.

You really dont understand why fans are mad at the 2 people in charge of the offensive gameplan that you admit was bad and did not put our players in a position to succeed?

I do not think they had a lot of choice in the gameplan. You seem to have pretty unrealistic expectations of what a freshman QB wuth nomial real game experience can and cannot do, well.

Bowden bet that the best chance of winning was with the D. That seems pretty reasonable, given the situation.

  7. I do not know why the meltdowns from fans still surprise me, but they do....

1 week if practice does not equate to game time snaps.

Regarding Ramart and the coaches: Woodson, 2014 against Ball State threw 1 TD and 4 INTs. Yesterday, Ramart threw 3 INTs and had 0 touchdowns. Say what you want, but we saw yesterday was a kid who had not taken many live snaps and a game plan that did not get him into any kind of rhythm.

Bowden was playing to keep this a low scoring game and hope the D could win it for us. When we got behind, we had to let Ramart take throws that could hurt us if we wanted any shot of winning.

It is tough to take a QB loss, but what happened yesterday was predictable. Kato did well against Ohio because they were totally unprepared for his running game (per Ohio players.) The game after Ohio, Nelson only threw the ball 20 times...pretty close to Ramart's attempts yesterday. You have a smaller playbook at your disposal with a less experienced player. Why you w az nt to fire Milwee and Bowden after that, is beyond me. I guess you expect them to play God and heal Kato or turn a freshman QB into a veteran.

It is what it is folks, bad luck.

WE have seen a lot of bad ref calls.  That unsportsmanlike call was probably the worse.  Player just frustrated.  No reason to throw that flag!

Yes and no. On the one hand, I agree, no harm, no foul. On the other hand, I do think it helps keep players in check. Bell does not have a great on or off of the field history of controlling his temper.

Not so fast.  Ramart had a bad outing last game, but I think he will be able to step in and be the "next man up"! (FF)

Yeah, it could give either way if Ramart starts. Last game is not a fair way to judge him. He came into a game in progress, cold, without a lot of reps with the first team. It was also a gameplan built for Kato. To some degree I have noticed teams struggle against a backup because if the lack of film on him.
