    I went over before the game yesterday in a very civil manner with my game thoughts. There were a few wonderful posters there, but the majority chose to rip into me and Akron for no reason. The school, the city, the academics, the team, the coach - they hit on just about everything. And when you fire the first shots like that and then drop a game by 31, you better damned well be ready for some smack to come back your way.It's all in good fun to me anyway...I think most of them realized that. Oh, and nobody made a claim that Akron was MAC champ yet either...that's just a sad attempt at trying to put words in my/our mouths. I think everyone knows and realizes that anything can happen at the Q.
    I don't know of one post on this board that has crowned us champions of anything.They bring it up as a despirate attempt to lash back after they got their butts kicked.They call Zip fans, "the new Marshall."If they just stepped back a bit and looked objectively at their own posts, they could see how ridiculous they make themselves look. I'm not sure what they mean by that, but perhaps they are the ones who come off like Marshall fans.Now I temper these comments with the knowledge that these few do not speak for the entire Bobcat Nation. You can't paint any fan base or school with a broad brush.Nuff said...we move on. Austin Peay is next on the agenda.

    Appalacian U, er OU fans are now calling on...sitting down...Bobby Knight to replace O'Shea.
    Sorry guys. I friggin' love Bobby Knight! Especially when he throws chairs! If he went to OU, I may find myself wearing green! Good thing it's never gonna happen!
    Bum...that post was more about OU's arrogance to believe he would even consider it.

    I don't even see people here declaring us MAC champs.We know we have our work cut our for us.I just checked out OU's sked...yeah, lots of quality road wins there too. Gee, I guess we should have never taken them seriously.We'll see what they do at N. Mex St., who is 19 and 6, on Sunday.That should be another good a$$ kicking for the flagship university.

    As OU fan, you definetly kicked the bobcats ass tonight.But, I think it might be a little early to start gloating. Akron hasn't won anything yet, hasn't beaten anybody on the road (as bad as you beat OU at home, you still lost on the road to them), and has no history of doing well in the MAC tournament. Might be a little early to start NCAA reservations.
    You may consider it gloating....but it is not.If these posts were on Bobcatattack...THAT would be gloating...and despite how we beat the brains out of other teams, people like you always make posts like you just made.I don't see anyone here making NCAA reservation. That's in your mind...not our's.Typical OU Bu!!sh!t.

    Well, Zips, sorry to hear that you dropped the game at Toledo but, you know, it happens. Perhaps the loss will have the same effect it had on Austin Peay when their winning streak came to an end at Murray State. Perhaps the loss will serve to reenergize the Zips and perhaps they will be propeled to play their most inspired ball to date. Austin Peay has won all their contests since the Murray loss and have indeed played some of the best ball of the year. The Governors played their final game before the matchup with the Zips in Akron. An 89-44 victory over Tennessee State in Clarksville. The victory ensures the Govs of the #1 seed in the OVC tournament. Uhm, it was an absolute mauling from the start and saw the Govs shoot over 65% from the field and outscore the much bigger TSU team 28-8 in the paint. TSU is the only common opponent with respects to the MAC and OVC insofar as I have been able to find. TSU defeated Ball State earlier in the season in Nashville by 9 points. Akron defeated Ball State in Akron by 18. Austin Peay defeated TSU by 9 in Nashville and then by 45 last night. But, you know, Austin Peay is like Akron in that they very rarely lose at home. What does this mean? Probably nothing. Good luck with Ohio and hope you guys get revenge. OU SUCKS! :gun:
    Peay, you're a true southern gentleman! :wave: You never find that type of class coming from an OU type.

    I don't know why you think it is constant.  I always forget the rest of the county doesn't get the snow we do.
    Because I lived in both Summit and the secondary snow belt. I always forget you guys don't get as much as we do.
    I don't know how that quote was manipulated, but that's not what I said.The correct statement is:"I don't know why you think it is constant. Akron is not Chardon.     Show me the ranking that puts us at #2 in the nation.And look at some of the schools on that list.  They're better schools than either us or you.  The party reputation here is vastly overrated.  There are people that come here to party, yes, but they learn quickly they will be gone if they don't get their academic stuff together.  People party at every school, even BYU.I'm not going to say you're a bad school.  You're not.  I'm well aware of the strong programs you have, but I will take issue with you saying we're a crappy school whose students do nothing but party.  We have a number of top-shelf programs here in Athens.  The other guy was wrong to try and characterize you as the high school on the hill.  I have quite a few friends that go there, and they don't think they're in 13th grade.There are problems here.  We know it, you know it.  There are problems at Akron, too.  We'd all be better off trying to keep the state from cutting our funding together than fighting against each other.
    OZ now THATS the smartest thing ive read on here in a LONG time...but..thats for ANOTHER board...hope the new state ADMIN. finally does SOMETHING right.... :thumb:

    Well good luck this week, and we will see you Saturday.For info, what is the weather supposed to be like? We have two trains of thought, fly cheaply into Cleveland via Southwest, or fill up the old tank and drive (both will costs about the same.)
    See if you can catch a cheap flight to Akron-Canton.You'll save a lot of drive time.

    I would be surprised if more than a few Bobcat fans show up tomorrow. Even a little snow is enough down here to make the roads unnavigable, and there's a lot people like me with midterms this week. Most Ohio fans will probably come from the area.I do have to say that the constant snow is one thing I don't miss about Summit County.
    I don't know why you think it is constant.Akron is not Chardon.This is really the first big accumulation we're expecting this winter.
