  1. These two are all you need to say. We need a good shooting night, and need to find a way to get Boards, because our personnel vs. their personnel is a bad matchup for us in the rebounding dept. But I will tell you why OU couldn't rebound. They don't have a rebounding team to begin with, and they allow Campbell to fire 3-pointers out there on the perimeter all night. I think that's really stupid. ........P - S
  2. Yep. If it's Buffalo's plan to rough him up, I think this game is going to be determined by how well we hit those shots.
  3. It's all going to depend on how the game is officiated.
  4. In his Postgame, Buffalo's coach boasted about having "A Lot of Bodies" that he can put on Big Dog. I believe that they are going to take him away, and we're going to have to win this game with a good outside shooting game. And I believe we are overdue for a hot night again. What scares me the most about Buffalo is their ability to rebound. Even though we won, they killed us at the JAR a few weeks ago on the boards (one of our initial games without Pat). We need to dig some of those out, and get some turnovers to negate the rebounding advantage.
  5. Thanks for sharing this. I think you're right. Nobody is talking about AKRON. But I will stick with what I have been saying since January. Our RPI needed to get under #30 to make it happen. It's at #29 right, but it wouldn't stay there if we lost tonight. I still believe we fell about 2 wins short. The Miami and NIU road games would have changed all of that. But YES, it's sure nice to hear someone finally talking about Akron.
  6. Thanks for the help guys. Yes, I know about the school tables. That's where I pick up our men's tickets, but I had no clue how it's handled for the women's games, and thought it was odd that it was so difficult to find MAC women's ticket information online.
  7. How do you get tickets to the Women's game tomorrow? I can't find anything anywhere on line. I know it's all first come - first serve seating. I just want to find out how to get the tickets, and how much they cost.
  8. Love It !! BG will be playing their 3rd game this week. I got my wish in this tourney. I wanted to avoid Toledo and Central. I didn't think it was possible, but it just happened. You can't get more of a "gift" than getting to play a tired team, who you beat by 15 on the road and 35 at home.
  9. We only got ONE foul shot. That rule is stupid if it allows a team to call a FAKE timeout and still have a chance to win the game. A time run-off seems more appropriate. But what was more puzzling was that they didn't call the foul when Robo got shoved on the layup. And everyone is right, he should have just ran to the corner. They would have fouled him. And even if there was any time left, he could have missed the free throw and it would have been impossible for them to get a winning shot off. Instead, we gave them an inbounds pass.
  10. But we have to remember... 1) We also had a title stolen away from us with a bad clock operator and a banked in 3. 2) We blew a huge 2nd half lead against WMU two years ago, with an unbelievable comeback. 3) We lost to OU in 2010 in overtime for another title. 4) We lost to OU in 2012 when a technical should have been called on the Bobcats for grabbing the rim on a missed FT with a few seconds left. I'll take the good breaks with the bad.
  11. Listen Guys. I'm in my 50s. I've lived through too many of these tournament games now. I need to go see a doctor before tomorrow. But.......WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  12. Not ONE single Big Dog move to the basket is ever resulting in a 3-point play. That can't be. I can count about 3 times already that it surely should have been an "And ONE"
  13. WOW. Eastern definitely going over the line. That shot that guy took at Jake might have been "legal", but definitely was completely unnecessary. WAY away from the basket, and way out on the perimeter. They could have knocked two of our guys out of the game by now. I hope the refs keep an eye on that in the 2nd half.
  14. OSWho is 3-9 against the Top 100, and they are being discussed as a "last 4 out". So they are in the discussion too, apparently.
  15. Of course, no Akron fan would be surprised if they relied upon any new measure which they could use as an excuse to exclude the "non-power" teams. We all know that the process is highly subjective. And we all know that this subjectivity leads to teams being picked for reasons outside of performance, such as a teams "past reputation" and fan base. But please, I hope nobody here wants to start a debate over whether one measure is relied upon more than another. If we all knew the exact formula for being selected, we'd all be doing it.
  16. We know we're not getting an at-large. But just for reference, even another loss at any point would still have us finishing at least a couple dozen spots higher than Monmouth. There's just not a ton of movement in your index after 30 games. Even when we lost to Ken+ and Miami a couple of weeks ago, I think we only dropped a few spots. And by the way, we're up to #32 this morning.
  17. Rowdy, you should still be able to contact the Akron ticket office this morning, and get tickets from Akron's allotment, and pick them up at the Zips Will Call table at the Arena.
  18. No, that's in Cleveland. You might be confusing this with the OT game in the JAR against Toledo in the opening round in 2009, where Hitchens extended the game with a corner 3-pointer, and B. McKnight won it a little later on a beautiful catch and shoot in the lane off of an inbound pass from Hitchens.
  19. I think you're right about the time period, but since Robotham was still playing on only one good leg, I think we can still say that we were not 100%
  20. I keep talking about this among friends, because it makes Keith's accomplishment that much more impressive. We're we ever at full strength? Off the top of my head, I think I can only come up with Reggie, Antino and Kwan as the guys in the rotation who were healthy and played in every game. It's almost a miracle that Big Dog came off the floor so many times and returned.
  21. Not before my time, but before I lived in Akron and before I was a Zips fan
  22. It's 203. I'm not sure what you are seeing.
  23. That's the bottom line, and the point I have been trying to make from the beginning. But even when you start breaking things down further, including common opponent, most everything comes up in Akron's favor anyway.
  24. A guard who can finish would be nice too
  25. When Plybon (SG) and Barilla (PG) are on the floor, she's playing a wing, at best. Regardless, she dribbles and creates space and gets a lot of open shots in that 10-15 foot range, even with larger defenders on her. I hope you're right. But what are our chances when we've really never had a player at that spot who can play like that? Don't get me wrong. I love Reggie and Jake, and what they've done for us. But, I'd love to see a 6-6 to 6-8 player come in there who can dribble, create space, and make a 10 foot fade away jumper in the paint.
