The reason YSU hasn't played you since 1995 is because we were winning and winning and winning against you guys.YSU tries to schedule Can't and Akron every year but get the same answer---NO. Why? You guessed right; because it would be embarrassing for them to lose to a D1AA School....BTW: Your AD tried to schedule us this year to boost attendance and we slammed him with a BIG no for 3 reasons:1) We had Penn State already on the schedule [schedule was hence full]2) We want it to be a home and home series, or at the very least 2 trips to Akron and 1 at Youngstown.3) After backing out of one of the best rivalries in OHIO; you guys back out and now wanna play us after 11 years--- I THINK NOT.GO PENGUINS!!!

1997: YOUR TEAM and Can't decide to vote in Buffalo over YSU.. That's the reason we are still in I-AA; Because of Akron and Can't.....Ask anyone in the MAC or in the AD Of YSU; They'd tell you the same story....

I was at the game which was packed, despite the ncaa saying just 11k there, bunch of BS because there was over 16000 in there, literally... Not just paid, but butts in the seatsYoungstown State is our team and so many people here love it, mainly due to Tressel. He won FOUR Division I Playoff Championships [formerally IAA] back in the 90s....The fan support here is tremendous and that is why the local stations cover it. The FOX Station here has a TV Deal with YSU to broadcast all home games in tape delay at 10:30pm at night. We have 2 radio stations doing our games: 1390AM and 106.1FMI really can't say much more but the fact that YSU has a chance to win an NCAA Title, instead of going to the Motor City Bowl makes people happy?????

Hey Zips fans I come in peace! Don't take my comments person if they go a little over the top.....I was wondering what is up with this attendance issue with Akron and Can't when Youngstown State is getting 16,000 a game over the last 9 years. In our playoff game this past Saturday on ESPN2, it was announced we had 11,000; but for the first time in forever, that number was low! There was over 16000 at the game as all the pictures and videos show, for some reason the NCAA never added the gameday walkup tix?Why not an Akron vs. YSU or Can't vs. YSU series????I know at Youngstown, that game would sell out easily and have over 21,000; but is it safe to say the same at the Rubber Bowl or at Dix Stadium???Here are a few pictures of YSU Stambaugh---in case you haven't seen it before, it's one of the finest Division 1-AA Facilities in the USA!-
