And for the hell of it I will post the king of all kings in I-AA: Montana Washington Grizzly Stadium. If you guys built a stadium like this: ALL THE PRAISES TO YOU!O Ya they are expanding to make it 26,000 seats!
-
If you are going to be upset with a stadium like Chattanooga's, it's your loss. I've been there two times and I admit, I am jealous of how well each side is developed in comparison to Stambaugh.Search for the PDF of renderings of the stadium and tell me it does not look just like that!
-
Hey in renderings I saw, whether it be in the article a few weeks back or a PDF posted on here a few months back, that is what it looked like, but more-so 2 tiered whether then just one set of seats. That stadium really is nice and the football facility in the one endzone is really top notch. I think this looks nice from this view!
-
I am thinking your stadium will look like this one down in Chattanooga. It is home to the I-AA National Championship Game. Seats 20,000 or so.Your Stadium would be like this, just with 2500 or so more on each side? Your stadium will probably seat around 25,000 with room to expand.

I don't care if its a bowled stadium or a stadium with 10,000 on each side or 15,000 and 5000 on each side: AT LEAST WE GET FANS TO OUR PLACE. -

First off my name is Anthony. I've lived in Youngstown my entire life. I don't plan on leaving either. What I am posting is facts; our attendance is dead on each and every week, with the exception of when it rains or snows.I guarentee you we have more people at all our home games than you guys do. We actually get people to the games, we don't just sell the seats.2009! -

We never have played a NW Minnesota State or anything of that nature.... Again we turned you down because we are getting $650,000 from OSU to play us this year and next year. In 2010 we are getting $350,000 to play Penn St.2009 is open as of now! SO MAYBE WE CAN PLAY YOU THEN! -

Sell it somewhere else...I am not impressed. I'm so tired of this YSU bitching.whine whine whine I'm not whining, I'm just posting the beliefs of so many YSU fans.... I am happy where we are right now as a perennial power in the I-AA Ranks. We are a solid program under a solid coach and have one of the nicest I-AA Stadiums in the USA. -

I don't over exaggerate the ticket sales... For instance this shot was taken from last year when we played the Northern Iowa Panthers, a team which has beaten us 6 straight years in a row. Attendance: 19,000----you see those empty seats at the top, that is an accurate attendance is it not?And boy we'd love to move up to the I-A and the MAC, but it's funny that some schools nearby would rather see a team from Buffalo or West Virginia in it over Youngstown. -

Read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steel_TirePerhaps you will understand what an annual rivalry actually is. I couldn't help it we beat you guys 3 straight years when we were a Perennial Power of the IAA; like we are becoming once again with a pre-season #4 ranking. How is it bad of us to turn you guys down if you can't come to Youngstown and play in front of a packed house; something we can guarentee. It's not like Stambaugh is ugly, we got 32 loges which are sold out every single year, how many do you have? We have a stunning Stadium Club and press box facility.Listen, I understand why you don't want to come to Youngstown and play; but try to look at it from the POV of a Penguin Fan. We know damn well you SHOULD BEAT US; but we want to restore a tradition which you guys chose to STOP. -
One other thing on Labor Day weekend is the largest county fair in the state of Ohio out here in Youngstown. The Canfield Fair draws well over 100,000+ people every year. And I'm telling you, there are a TON from the Akron-Canton market which drive out here as well.I don't think it will hurt you all that much, but if its a beautiful Saturday Afternoon in the mid-70s with sunshine; it may change a few peoples thoughts of going to the game.Bottom line is I think you guys will get a lot of veterans to go to the game with their families; but you still will lose plenty of Zips fans which will be outta town for the weekend.25,000 sounds logical.

I'm well aware that Akron offered us a game; but at the same time, what makes more since?Getting paid $650,000 for playing Ohio St; or $125,000 for Akron. The 650k is a big boost for our Athletic Dept. and helps us pay for some quality non-conference games each year.2009 right now is open for a I-A Game; maybe then we can get it on the schedule; but again: our AD has said if they want to benefit from us bring 10,000 fans across I-76; then the least they could do is come to our place and play a game. Sure it may be against league rules; but hell you guys did it back in the 90s, so why not now? It's now like Stambaugh is any smaller, its BIGGER: 21,000 seats would be packed for that game!BTW: Where is the Spindicator Link?? -
I'm well aware of the actual butts in the seats at your games and Can't games, I have family which are season ticket holders at each school and they inform me of whats up. YSU is fairly accurate on their ticket reporting. With the exceptions of one game last year when it rained and it said we had 15,000; every other game was just about on track with the actual numbers being reported.Labor Day weekend isn't going to be an easy sell for anyone to go to a game; but hell us YSU fans are about to take 6-8,000 [according to reports] fans down to Columbus on 9/1/07!Go Guins... Good Luck Zips

I don't know enough about this game to really say how many people I think will be there. One good side for you guys it's Labor Day weekend and a lot of NEOHIO veterans may want to check this game out with their families. The bad news is you guys have trouble putting 20,000 in your own place; and it would be hard for me to believe you can bring 15,000 up to Cleveland for that simple reason. When it's all said and done, perhaps 25,000 will attend the game. That is a rough guestimate and I am not smacking!

Patriot Bowl attendance and attendance in general

YSU averages 7000 season tickets each year. What does UA get? -
I'm sorry, but comparing Quinn to Frye is like comparing apples to oranges. Quinn played better competition on national TV every single week. He knows how to handle the pressure of the media and is definitely a good pick-up for the Browns. Will he be the right guy to start this season?? NO-Frye should start early on and if he continues to struggle like he has; give Quinn a shot. The last thing you need to do is ruin Quinn's psychee or what have you. If Quinn starts against the Steelers and they get their ass handed to them; guess who will remember it the rest of his life: BRADY QUINN.Quinn will develop into a far better QB than Frye; but for the early part of this season, I think Frye is the right guy to go with. And btw: I am NO Browns fan. I am offering my unbiased Point of View.

Well as most of you probably know by now Sian Cotton, from Akron St. V's, transferred into Youngstown State this past fall... I believe it's due to academics. Heacock is very tough on those with bad grades, and I understand he working very hard to get them fixed.Lebron James was at the annual Red-White Spring Game a couple weeks back to check him out, Lebron reserved the entire east side of the stadium for him and his posse, which included Dru Joyce and Romeo Travis. He is going to be a force for the Penguins, the line play last year was outstanding for YSU.
-
Schedule Youngstown State---You get a packed house.Attendance may have been down when we struggled from 2002-2005; but we still averaged 14,000 during those seasons. Next season's season ticket numbers are already up for Youngstown State; mainly due to a 7 game home tilt; and all season ticket holders get a ticket to the OSU game. If YSU continues to dominate at home, I bet we can expect 17,500-18,000 on average this year.I agree, we CAN ALL BENEFIT FROM OHIO STATE SUCKING!But in all seriousness, YSU wants to play you; most of you know playing YSU gets a huge crowd: LET'S DO IT!!!!! YSU will bring at least 8-10,000.

Take it from a Youngstown High School Football fan for a long time; Alex Allen is the real deal. If he can get back into the form he was at Ursuline; he could help you out greatly...

Listen, I've had to hear it from many Akron fans for way too long that the Rubber Bowl is this amazing piece of concrete over there; and that it's nicer than YSU's """I-AA""" Stadium. Well they are wrong, i work with about 10 Zip Alums who pester me about sports every day of the week. I know I shouldn't take my anger out on you guys, but I have to say I am!LOL... And I know the Rubber Bowl was aa nice stadium back in the day, and it's too bad its in the condition it is in today.
-
I want you guys to check these out and I'd like to hear if maybe you'd like this for your stadium.. Since you don't want a I-AA stadium; although the one here in Youngstown is nicer than your's over near Akron-Fulton; and the other one in KANT, Oh.
-
Last year's YSU team would've beat half the MAC............so don't tell me it wouldn't be a quality win.A win vs. a #5 I-AA/FCS school, is as good as beating teams around the 60-70s in the Sagarin's; which BTW was where YSU was located.Chances are the Zips Win.Chances are YSU brings 8-10,000 fans.Chances are a rivalry can develop.Chances are everyone is happy in the end!
-
YSU has 7 home games!!! Consider playing us in 2008, and we will come to the Rubber Bowl! We'll bring 7500 fans with us too!
-
That is hilarious 81! I love seeing what the old mascots look like... Thanks for posting that! Now let's see our 21st century mascots go at it in a game!!
-
O ya everyone.... Youngstown State had those 2 black ref's about 4 times this year at Beeghly Center. They were HORRIBLE every single time.......... So bad that YSU and WSU reported them to the league for being a joke.
