  1. Now you are starting to sound and think like a YSU Fan!
  2. I admit, I was really sad to see you guys lose that heartbreaker tonight. I've been pulling you since you put it on YSU and since your 3 wins vs. those damn flushes.Re: The Horizon. The league as a whole did vert well vs. the MAC the entire year, including a 3-0 record on Bracketbuster Saturday. I think the final tally was 14-9; but teams like Cleveland State, which is pretty bad, even got a W for Can't.MAC is dominant in the big inside game.Horizon is dominant in the guard game.----------That equals out to some pretty good basketball.Good Luck in the N-I-T!
  3. GREAT WIN AKRON!!!I watched the entire 2nd half and OT and was cheering for you the entire game! I loved seeing that crowd of blue and yellow go home with a big LOSS!Hope you guys meet up in Cleveland next week: So you can kick their asses again!Congrats from a Youngstown State Fan.
  4. I like the way you put that haha!!!!
  5. Think of the direction of the MAC. Now think about the positives of bring YSU in.Now can you tell me honestly if the MAC would turn down YSU.
  6. OMG NO! You must be some younger kid who really doesn't get it. take a step back, do some research on the topic and stop with your "YSU is the greatest place in the world" bit. Please just stop. What is it that you do not understand about Akron going for bigger, better recruits and a the best facilities they can get. do you not think they will out do a 1-AA? Seriously?! yes i said 1-AA, not 1-A championship series because nobody cares about that here but you! WTF mate.... W... T... F! Hey Buddy. Your seeming to forget, the plans for the stadium I've seen on the U-Akron website call for just 23,000 seats or so. YSU is 21,000 seats.Never have I said YSU is the best place in the world, but WHEN we do move to the MAC, don't be surprised to see us expand our facilities once again.Go ahead and call for a bowl or a stadium like Montana, but the plans I've seen call for a stadium like YSU's... With seats just in E-W Orientation. I'm simply posting suggestions for you. I am not the architect or the Director of Facilities. And if I'm so young, I remember the days back when Tressel would pound Faust [93-95], and frankly looking back, that was the only team Tressel would run the score up on.I am not here to piss you off, just make some suggestions.
  7. Well I am happy to hear you like the Montana --> Washington-Grizzley Stadium Idea. I'm telling you, that is louder than almost every single Division I-A Stadium around. ESPN was there a few years back, and measured the Decibel readings on the field, they were approaching 150db's!But remember: it's always sold out there. Here's an old photo of YSU Stambaugh Stadium. Would you guys consider something similar, just with similar sized sides... Again that photo is old, we got new turf, new scoreboard, and other much needed things. They do have drawings to make it a bowl, but I am not sure where I can find them.
  8. Just want to make a statement about I-A's playing I-AA's.Just look at this:Youngstown State @ Ohio State 9/1/07Appalachian State @ Michigan 9/1/07Delaware State @ Can't StateNorthern Illinois, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas State, Florida, etc...THEY ALL PLAY D-1AA'S! Let's work out a deal to get the Steel Tire back out of the stadium club of Stambaugh, and onto the playing field, whether it be at Akron, YSU, or a neutral field.
  9. K-ENT STATE is playing Division I-AA Delaware State at the Dix.
  10. I'm not saying you're scared of playing us, but you did back out on the STEEL TIRE. You and I both know it would be an instant sell to our fans. Youngstown travels very well. 7000 down to PITT, 3500 over to PSU, 1200 down to Appy St. in NC.YSU-AKRON could bring 24,000 to the Rubber Bowl!BTW: The YSU schedule is set. YSU has 7 home games. 2008 is a possibility though, but we already have OSU again. 2008 is a year I-AA teams can have 12 games.
  11. Teams like Nevada, Marshall, Boise St, Troy St, and others won in I-AA; and look where they are now..Only a matter of time my friends. Football is YSU's strong point, basketball, well Akron blows us outta town lol! I was sad to see you guys lose to Toledo. You guys got my support in the MAC tourney and into the Round of 64!
  12. not really. then we'd be playing a bunch of division II teams. Oh wait, I mean D-IAA. Same difference... You have too much spare time. Two of those YSU games will indeed be D-II opponents. Like Clarion and Slippery Rock. Glad the Penguin fans want to pay $$ to see that. Actually here's the schedule:9/1 at Ohio State9/8 South Dakota State9/15 Stony Brook9/22 Lock Haven---ONLY DIVISION II9/22 Missouri State10/6 at Southern Illinois10/13 Southern Utah10/20 Illinois State10/27 at Northern Iowa11/3 at Indiana State11/10 Western Illinois---7 Home Games; where we have won 14 of 15; likely means another trip to the Division 1 Playoffs. With Attendance likely to rise, don't be surprised to see us averaging 17,500 to 18,000 in 2007! YSU Fans want more home games, no matter who the opponent is.
  13. I bet you guys would want YSU's schedule.7 Home Games4 Away Games
  14. A team YSU beat................... Youngstown State - Appalachian State - Montana will all be I-A by 2014..........All stadiums 22,000+.
  15. I will wait until its official that he is at Akron. The 2 other local tv stations even said yesterday that Andrew Johnson is pursueing Youngstown State.Again I am only telling you what they know, and I'm not saying you guys are wrong, but I want something official before I lay off on where this kid lands.
  16. Hey... I am only telling you what the play-by-play voice knows......GO GUINS
  17. The newest Ytown Local TV-Station: MY-YTV 33 has a SportsTalk show every weeknight.Tonight they were talking about YSU Football, and once again Andrew Johnson's name was mentioned as being "CLOSE" to coming into Youngstown State. That is what I am hearing on him, and what the Host, Bob Hannon [play-by-play voice] has heard from inside the organization.
  18. Congrats on beating those damn Golden flushes. It's ncie to see them LOSE TO EVERY SINGLE TEAM IN NORTHEAST OHIO!!!The other battle for NE Ohio is Saturday in Youngstown. The game will broadcasted LIVE on SPORTSTIME OHIO. YSU vs. CSU.Granted Akron is far better than each, but expect a big crowd for this one, we are honoring our Football Team.. And you guys know how big football is here!
  19. Kansas State struggled big time this past year vs. a team YSU beat twice: Illinois State. They won 24-23, only after ILSU went for it for 2 and came up short.I-AA is a way to get some butts in the stands and get some support behind your team. YSU does it every year with a Division II Team.-----------------------------------------------I think a team that would definitely travel to the Rubber Bowl would be Appalachian St. who won the title for the 2nd straight year just a few weeks back. NC-State backed out of their deal I believe and are looking for a I-A in week 1. They could just hit a flight into CAK.. .They bring a lotta fans as well.
  20. I sure as hell hope not LOL.. My only hope is they are losing so much they will be that bad in the first game that it will be close.YSU did shut down Penn State for most of the First half this past year at least.YSU will get killed---but most teams will anyways.. they are that good.A couple years ago I went to OSU-Akron and I was cheering for you guys. Not sure how many fans you will bring down there, I'm expecting 4-5,000 from YSU, considering they've actually been selling tix for the past 4 months for it.
  21. You said it, perhaps a neutral site at the Dix HS Stadium Complex in Kant, OHIO
  22. eguins man you didn't get 1000 to attend a home bball game against us... His attendance figures are in metric. If they are, then so are Indians08's.Now c-mon, you should know by now that YSU is a football school, with very strong baseball-softball-track programs who are some of the best in the Horizon.Throw the argument out about b-ball, we are under a new coach and are far from being that good, Akron is far better in b-ball and far better in recruiting. You can't tell me that adding YSU to the MAC doesn't benefit not only Akron, but CANT STATE!I know you are against it, but now c-mon, think of the positives and think of how well the I-AA's are doing in I-A right now!Marshall- Up to the last few years, was making a bowl every year.Boise St- [ysu beat in 94 title] just won the Fiesta Bowl.Troy- Won a bowl game.Nevada- Nearly edged out MiamiThe 3 remaining powers in I-AA that you will see in I-A in the next 10 years are Montana, YSU, and Georgia Southern.-----------------------Can you post who you guys have NON-CONFERENCE for me?
  23. I will continue with my humor.Play a mediocre I-A UConn. Or play a premier I-AA YSU and get 25,000+ in the Rubber Bowl?We had 7000 down in Pittsburgh.3000 in Happy Valley. 1000 in Boone, NC.Going to have a huge gathering down at Ohio Stadium 9/1/2007.Bring a couple hundred to every away game in the Gateway.Brought 8,000 to Can't in the past.I am telling you. We can bring 10,000 to the Rubber Bowl, and with the 12th game rule, it will not hurt to play us.But I guess UCONN looks more impressive!
  24. Listen you guys. I'm just busting your balls. It is hilarious to see you guys all upset. We are not obnoxious, trust me. I am sorry to paint YSU fans that way too, again I am just messing with you guys. We are passionate about our team and our town, that is all.If you want to see arrogance at its finest. Head down to Stateboro, GA and visit Georgia Southern University. Those fans are HORRIBLE, trust me from experience. They threw food at YSU fans at the 99 title game and called us every name in the book.
  25. What I can't post my thoughts? Geeze what has America become 81?BTW: For the hundredth time: MY SITE IS BRAND NEW. I began it at the end of the season back in November. The other YSU message board is much more active, but it looks old: that is why I began eguins.Go read their thoughts over @ ysupenguins.com :chair:And PS: Your athletic director tried to schedule us this year to get people in the seats, we had a big NO to them, because our schedule was full and because we want a game at our place too. And I don't see why we cant. 15,000 at a 30000 seat Rubber Bowl. Or 20,000 at a 21,000 seat Stambaugh Stadium. What makes more since to you?
