  1. And buddy ole pal from the city 45 minutes away..... You can call us a high school all you want, but until you play us again, you will be the Junior High School----Why?YSU Beats Akron-1993YSU Beats Akron-1994YSU Beats Akron-1995Last game vs. Akron: 19953 Game Winning Streak for the glorified high schoolers. Play us again, then we will see who the real high school is..........I KIDI KID
  2. Ya Zip 81....Because this is so bad. See those things at the top of the stadium. They are called LOGES. Every single one has a company inside of it. The row above that is called the Press Box. See how big that is. Also note how big that is.You guys have a nice looking stadium in the works, but it hasn't been built. If anything, your new one will look like a HS Stadium, because it will have 2 sides, like YSU. You won't have a bowl anymore, but that is no big deal.I still think a stadium like I-AA Montana's Washington-Grizzly Stadium would be perfect for you. 24,000 seats with loges.
  3. Watch it now, I can't help it we put more people in our "HS Stadium" every week then the Zips. Also can't help it that 21,000 seats and a 35+ loges aren't good enough for you guys. When you have a nicer stadium than us, then you can talk about this stadium stuff and YSU, but right now, YSU>AKRON>Can't State.
  4. Funny. I heard from a friend of a friend who told me he was coming to Youngstown State. LOL.... Hopefully I See him in the red and black next year.
  5. Really two. You guys held 2 of the top 5 guards in the Horizon-Humphrey and Roberts under 20 points.I think they had 17 and 15 respectively. If those guys had 20 points like they had been getting, that game is a lot closer.YSU had a one hell of a tough time shooting from the outside in the first half, and that killed them.
  6. LMFAO.That is absolutely hilarious............... and I'm a YSU fan.CONGRATS ON THE WIN
  7. Just began this year. As you noticed they have brand new lights inside Beeghly which turn on in less than 5 seconds, making it possible to do that little intro.
  8. I will have to say Can't State. Akron ended our Steel-Tire Rivalry back in 1995, and it looks like it will never happen again... But I never liked Can't, nor Akron for that matter................but Can't can SUCK IT.
  9. Nice win Zips......I will say this much on the game: The refs did not help Youngstown's case at all, but the performance by YSU was one of the worst of the season, and give all the credit to Akron. They deserved to win this game and played like it from the tip.In my book, Akron's size killed YSU. Yes Youngstown State out rebounded Akron by double-digits, but on the offensive side for Akron, they were just throwing anything up and it would go in.Good Luck in the MAC!
  10. Well I thought there was 3000 vs. Loyola. I guess I was told wrong..Regardless.... If there is 3000 there, YSU fans will be loud. Last year vs. Butler, 5000+ and vs. Loyola 3000+ it was extremely loud, but of course they were awesome games. Many YSU fans in the chairbacks are the Penguin Club members and are old and do not stand up much during the game, but I certainly will be.I will try to take some photos tonight.GO GUINS
  11. Yaaa I am pretty sure I already posted that, but regardless....It is free.
  12. Empty ehhhh? They've had 2 crowds over 3000 already this year in 4 home games... I don't think it will be empty, I do know of at least 10 people who are going, who haven't even been to a game yet. This will be a dandy! YSU Has won 5 of 6, the only loss to Robert Morris by 1 point. If you can't make it............Watch the game LIVE online @ http://ysusports.com for FREE brought to you by Fox 17.62 in Youngstown.
  13. Storylines and Sidebars...• Senior guard Quin Humphrey is in 14th place on the all-time YSU scoring charts following a 20-point outing against Loyola. Humphrey now has 1,376 points.• Head Coach Jerry Slocum is just six wins shy of 600 for his career. Slocum’s 594 career victories rank 13th among active coaches. Among Division I coaches, he ranks sixth.• Humphrey has scored in double figures in 40 of 41 games since the start of last season, including 26 straight. In that time, he has scored over 20 points on 12 occasions.• Senior guard Keston Roberts has scored at least 20 points in six straight games and double figures in the past 12 contests.• The Penguins have beaten two Mid-American Conference schools this year (Central Michigan and Can't State). It is the first time since 2002-03 that the Guins have defeated two MAC schools in the same year.• YSU is 7-0 when holding an opponent under 40-percent shooting and 7-1 when having a higher FG percentage. The Guins are 6-1 when holding an opponent under 70 points.
  14. Park in the M-24 Lot on Campus. It is adjacent to McDonald's and Stambaugh Stadium. It's off Fifth Avenue, I believe on Arlington.. Just turn right on Fifth at the McDonald's and then on your left you can enter the lot.Any other questions throw them my way.GO PENGUINS
  15. You guys tix are only 10 and 6 bucks. Get the chair back seats and you will be fine.....Predictions? YSU has won 2 in a row vs. Top 20 Mid-Majors.
  16. Youngstown State: 76Loyola (Chicago): 71YSU Has won 5 of their last 6 games, the only loss by 1 to Robert Morris. The Penguins improve to 7-7 on the year!BTW. Never did I say that the Gateway was better than the MAC. And about my forums, they are brand new, if you wanna read the old shitty ones, search ysupenguins on google.]SEE YOU TUESDAY!GO GUINS
  17. Wrong Loyola. The team we beat tonight plays in the West Coast Conference (Loyola Marymount). There is a Loyola(Il) that plays in the Horizon. Okay your post made absolutely no since. Everything 06 posted is right, Loyola was predicted to win the Horizon during the pre-season... No idea what you are talking about.....Maybe re-read what he posted!>>>>>>>I think Loyola was the pre season favorite in the Horizon League.<<<<<<<<
  18. Out in Canfield, OH... Yes you can call me "rich" if you want, since everyone in this town is stereotyped that way!YSU plays Loyola, top 15 in the Mid-Major Top 25 on Saturday, this should give everyone a good idea where they are at... Then we can predict.. FAIR ENOUGH?
  19. Click the little image below this text in my sig!
  20. Don't forget about softball either. They have pumped millions into McCune Field out in Canfield. Eastwood Field of course is top notch, since its the Indians short-season Single A home. Stambaugh is just flat out nice. Beeghly is nice and getting better. They put millions into a brand new lobby, brand new lights, and coaching offices. Next year a brand new floor and the possibility of 4 videoboards! You have the better basketball team... but so did Can't..... The thing again is this: This is a rivalry and anything could happen in this game, so throw out the records. And remember YSU last year blew a 15 point 2nd half lead to the Zips... maybe some revenge is in store!DEFEND THIS YSU!
  21. Like our stadiums, here is the order of the best NE Ohio College Arena's.1-CSU Convo2-YSU Beeghly3-Can't State4-AKRONI will be there. You guys can find seats right behind the Akron bench in the chairbacks or in the GA admission around that area.YSU Seats 6500... should be a nice crowd for this rivalry! The videoboard issue is being discussed on my site, we are getting a new floor next year, and a new indoor sports facility in 2008, and hopefully a videoboard by then in Beeghly Center!HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE.. IF YOU CAN'T MAKE IT. YOU CAN WATCH THE GAME LIVE ONLINE FOR FREE @ YSUSPORTS.COM since we have our local fox station doing the game!
  22. Pictures of YSU @ Can't St. from eGuins!^^^CLICK^^^
  23. yaaa!!
  24. You guessed it because I posted it:YSU Beats K-e-n-t State 62-58!!Of all the teams I really can't stand, it's Can't St. They like to rip on YSU sports, especially the basketball program, but they refuse to play us in football for fear of losing, and they just lost to us in basketball. GOOD! We are now 6-7 and ended the high hopes for K-e-n-t fans after giving Duke all they could handle!Sorry for my gloating.... But this is the first time YSU beat Can't @ Can't in 50 YEARS!See you all in 10 days in Youngstown!!!!!! Thanks
  25. Remember I said this on another thread: 23,000 is just perfect for Akron... I am sure you will have the ability to expand it if need be, but right now and over the years, you've never showed the need for a 30-45k seat stadium.Your designs remind me of Max Finley Stadium in Chattanooga, the home of the Division 1 Football/I-AA Championship, which seats 21,000.
