  1. There is some argument as to which vest Tressel will be wearing to work this fall. There is no question....The name badge clearly says "James" on it. It's his.
  2. What part of the SI article has been debunked?
  3. Terry Pluto gets opinion from his favorite loveable loser. How did Pluto not get laughed out of the editors room when he handed in this story?
  4. I think that a lot of people look at tOSU fans in almost a sympathetic way...I don't, but some may. For ten years tOSU fans, when they weren't packing on a pound of fat a day, made fools of themselves telling everyone how great the program was because of the Big Ten Championships, beating Michigan and BCS appearances. As it turns out, all of those "accomplishments" are hollow. Accomplishments made meaningless because of a lying, cheating scumbag of a coach heading up a dirty football program in a dirty Athletic Department. Having been made a fool of can't sit well with tOSU fans. Having been made a fool of by a THUG con artist of a coach must be upsetting for the fans. Fans knowing that the tainted and hollow accomplishments of the past decade must be upsetting. Everything tOSU did over the past ten years should have the following symbol next to it..... *. Instead of a mascot wearing a nut on his head, he should have to wear a * on his head. It would be the most fitting symbol of the past ten years. How does it feel to be duped?
  5. They can do this right after they cut the league back to 10-11 teams.
  6. Interesting stats DrZ. Thanks for posting. I'm surprised Getsy had the most touchdowns in a season & game. Maybe not a season because they played one more game in 2005 compared to 2003, but Owens had teams that scored a lot. I'm shocked Frye isn't at the top of those two. I like the touchdown in a season & game statistic Getsy has. Charlie has a lot of records that come with starting four years. Charlie also has a lot that look good, but aren't near the top of things you want your QB to do. For example, completions in a game are nice only if you win the game or they turn into TDs. Charlie played in an offense that flooded the field with WRs and he picked the open one. Not hard to do compared to the pro style offense Getsy played. Getsy got run out of town, but when he was on, he was deadly. Just ask NIU.
  7. I'll never forget the Marshall punter fumbling a snap from center. It was exactly the kind of thing that normally happens to the Zips.
  8. Of those on the list, Dwight Smith is the best. He could do it all. Ints., blocked kicks, returned kicks and played offense. Single handedly won games. Chase Blackburn was a better player than both Frye and Hixon.
  9. I guess it would be fair to say that is ONE reason. The main reason we don't draw fans is our team has been so bad, nobody can stand to go watch them lose time and again. If Tressel came to town and lost at the rate we have been losing the past 20+ years, nobody would come to the games.
  10. Interesting thought ZW. I'd think Tournament MVP goes to the best player that weekend and normally to a guy on the winning team. If Miami doesn't make a miracle shot, we have another Tournament MVP, etc. The season MVP goes to a guy who displays excellence over an entire season. Of the three above, Marshall has the most potential to be the best all time. Next year needs to be the break-out year. He needs to average 15+ points per game and 8+ blocked shots per game the next two years to be considered one of the all time greats. I don't think it's asking too much for a high school all American, seven foot tall and a one day four year letterman to average 15+ points per game in the MAC in his junior and senior seasons. In fact, that production should be easy to get.
  11. I'd love to know how long that 30 day tag has been on that car.
  12. Great questions. I like guys who are good leaders and help the team succeed in spite of maybe not having the best athletic ability (see how much I like Brett Biggs in football). For basketball, this guy was Dru J. Too small, too skinny, to slow, not a great shooter, but he won and was invaluable to his coach. I know he isn't the greatest player ever, but he deserves a mention in this topic. No Marcel Boyce? ZipsWin! is going to have something to say about that.
  13. That was yesterday at a players only meeting according to fox Cowlumbus. Nissan 350z My bad. ESPN is reporting it like they broke the story...like they always do (read God Save The Fan to learn more).
  14. Instead of agreeing, you should slap them in the face and call them a bunch of bitches.
  15. I would never say something like this. Teams get enough practice. We need to make more shots when they are presented to score more. It's about team performance during a game.
  16. ESPN is reporting Pryor showed up to tOSU football complex today in a new car with a temp tag on it. Either he isn't coming back to school, or he is the most stupid person in the world. Listen and listen good. That tat shop is going to be baby poop compared to the car dealership issues that are still waiting to be examined.
  17. Worse than we sabotage our own program? This is unrelated to zen's post, but a guy who wrote an article for SI yesterday was asked if it is possible to win at the highest levels of college football without cheating, and he said no. Even Boise State of all schools was hit with NCAA penalties this year for problems there. I think on a lot of levels he is right. The NCAA is out of control to the point they can't get it back under control. They need change and fast. tOSU was too good for too long not to be cheating.
  18. Do you guys think if I wrote an article about Tressel titled, "Stupid Guy Gets Caught Doing Something Stupid" it would get published? Am I the only one who thinks the guy is really stupid to have something this bad happen and try to cover it up?
  19. Me too. It just goes to show, most people want it one way, but it's normally the other way.
  20. The narcotics staff at Akron PD isn't large enough to handle the volume.
  21. Why can't you believe it? When Tressel was at YSU, the same thing was going on the AD had no idea.......What?.....He what?.....Really?.......OK, Tressel was the AD at YSU when his problems happened there as well. Where was the compliance department? Probably filling out NCAA forms that have nothing to do with compliance. The life of a compliance officer is similar to that of a guy who works middle management at a large company for 40 years. On his last day, he is given a golden eagle (frequently called giving him the bird) and he is sent on his way. 40 years for nothing. That's the life of a compliance officer.
  22. I had no idea Andy Staples was Captain Kangaroo. Article
  23. You're not kidding. And hope is going to get squashed by the NCAA.
  24. That's a lot of people gambling. I think it is more related to community support and actually asking for community support.
  25. WARNING: The above statement is an example of the "building" mentality killing the Zips. We have been investing. There are no results. If there is football, they won't try? Amazing. I guess after waiting 20+ years for something to happen, what would another 20 years be while we wait and see?
