Not a big fan of Pluto, but he wrote some points on CSU basketball recently. Take it for what it is worth.

Go to the Mardi Gras Lounge before the game. The food is really good. If memory serves me correct, doesn't CSU serve beer at games? If so, grab a quick bite and go to the game early. You probably wouldn't want to walk from Mardi Gras to the game, but it is very close.

A party bus is pretty cheap. It's the strippers that drive up the cost of the trip.Show up? I hope they kick their butts.

Always a good topic. My opinion is PSU fans had better hope not. Once JoePa retires, PSU becomes as relevant at the University of Illinois in the Big Ten and nationally. JoePa is the only thing interesting about PSU football. Lou Holtz once said, "Penn State is fifteen minutes from Altoona by telephone." PSU won't find another person who could make that part of the country relevant as Joe Pa did. It will be a sad day on many levels when he retires.

Are all the gravel UA lots getting paved? Or just this one?More importantly, why are there still ANY gravel lots? A first class university should have all paved lots.I will pass that along to Mount Union University. We're a better school than Mt. Union. They aren't even a first class university. In fact, they are second rate. They probably don't have a single faculty member who has done any meaningful research in 20 years. Our national championship in D-1A soccer means more than all of their football championships in whatever division they play in. Feel free to pass along the information though.

No, I want grass right by the parking spaces, but no cars on grass.

No dorms? Make the tailgating experience better until the dorms go up. There is a pretty cheap way to do this. From what I read on the board, this lot is not full. First, fill the lot. As part of the paving project, make a grass park in the lot somewhere so people could erect tailgating tents, etc. A few truckloads of topsoil, seed and straw isn't very expensive. I'm having trouble seeing the lot in my mind, but they might could create a type of boulevard the length of the lot that earlybirds could pull up next to and have grass right behind their vehicle...or a square park might work of positioned properly. There is an element of safety as well. It is safer to sit in the park or pass football in the park rather than doing those activities on asphalt with cars driving around. If they are going to have a premium tailgating spot, give the fans some benefits in the lot for the premium they pay....make it a nice place. Asphalt lots don't lend themselves to tailgating tents. The also get hot as heck. Remember the Rubber Bowl? Grass is a good thing to erect a tailgating tent in and it is a heck of a lot cooler to stand on than asphalt.

Schedule LinkOn the whole, I like the home game starting times. Not a big fan of 6:00 starts as in the first game, but it looks like it might be an ESPN obligation. If they are going to have a 6:00 start, the first game is a good time to do it as the weather is GREAT to be outside for tailgating and cooling at kickoff.I really like afternoon games and this schedule gives five games starting no later than 3:30. If the goal is to bring people downtown for more than a game, this does it. Four adults could go to a game together, have it over at the latest 7:00, go out to dinner or do some post game tailgating and go home. There are three 2:00 games and I think that is a great time to start a college football game. There was once a time when almost every college football game started at 1:30. 2:00 allows for.....let's call it the "Proenza Trifecta" as he wants people to be downtown and take advantage of the Univeristy and City. Pre game tailgate, post game tailgate and dinner downtown at a reasonable time after the post game tailgate. That should be a trifecta in everyones book.I can't really complain about the starting times. Well done Athletic Department.

Are Women Soccer Players Tougher Than The Men?
GP1 replied to GP1's topic in Off Topic, Smack & Jokes
I guess you would agree with the article the. Females are designed to squeeze a baby from between their legs. My sister told me it was like crapping a bowling ball. They are built to take pan a man never would. -
I don't want either. I just want to learn what is going on in the world.

Akron September opponent's coach in hot water?
GP1 replied to Dr Z's topic in Off Topic, Smack & Jokes
He did have trouble reporting in a timely manner. Even worse, he had trouble following the rules over and over again. There is no way on God's green Earth he didn't know giving a recruit a jersey was a violation. If anyone is interested, Google "lack of institutional control". A PDF file comes up as one of the first choices. It is rather long. It looks like an NCAA document that is rather detailed. Maybe one of the Mods could help us out and post it on this tread. -
Please look up the number of viewers FOX has on a daily basis and tell me whether or not you think that qualifies as a "mass" audience in comparison to the rest of the country.Hint: FOX primetime viewership in 2009 was 2.9 million, which is less than 1% of the US population. They have had a 29% increase in viewership since then which puts them at 3.7 million or 1.2% of the US population. The masses are not idiots. The people who are attracted to FOX News because they want their belief system reinforced are. The same goes for Keith Olberman and MSNBC viewers.

I don't know exactly what the NCAA defines "Lack of Institutional Control" as, but when a coach is written up by the University and continues down the same road in an even worse manner, it would seem to me that institution is having trouble keeping control over a program.Tressel thought he was untouchable. -

It's starting to look more and more like it is owned by a criminal organization.Don't know about that. I am pretty sure the mob would run it better than that I don't know about better, but honorable might be the word I would use.

It's starting to look more and more like it is owned by a criminal organization.Personally, I watch CNN. I know it leans liberal and that doesn't bother me because I know what it is. At least it isn't FOX or MSNBC. The NBC news with Brian Williams is real good if I'm home at 6:30. I'll also watch Morning Joe because Meka (sp?) is such a MILF.

Boring is one thing. A head full of skin cancer scabs is another. Skin cancer + Sarah Panlin = Possibility of Palin becoming President if McCain died. Am I the only person who thought of that last election? Tell the truth... The guy should have never been nominated.

I only have one issue. They need to get back to providing basic government services and doing the basic job of government well. For example, recent studies show 1/3 of all bridges in the US are in disrepair. I drive a lot for a living. One in three bridges I drive over are in disrepair. That is a worry. One in three bridges you drive over with your family are in disrepair. Want to put people back to work? Fix the basic things that are broken. Don't build more until we fix what we currently have.

I agree. Obama is currently losing to the generic Republican by 8%. Believe me, when the generic becomes real, that number will turn quickly. Obama is so easy to beat is isn't even funny, yet the Republicans won't be able to do it.There was a good article written recently about how FOX News has destroyed the Republican Party. Great read. FOX basically puts lunatics on the air and because they are on the air all the time, they become normal to the viewers. There was once a time when people like Hannity and Bill O' would have been laughed off the air by Republicans. Palin is alive today because FOX kept her alive. Bachmann is alive today because FOX kept her alive. Newt is alive today because FOX kept him alive. There is a list as long as your arm of fools who are kept alive by FOX News.
-
The voters are the biggest danger to this country. Obama didn't just walk up and claim the job, he was voted in office. Had the Republicans not run a babbling idiot with moron for a running mate in the last election, Obama would not be president right now.

I respectfully disagree. The Tea Party is a fleeting group that will run its course here in the next couple of years. The Tea Party is more like the nuts in the Constitution Party. They also talk a lot about the ideas of the founding fathers, yet they have no idea what the founding fathers stood for. Case in point. A couple of weeks ago, Bachman said the founding fathers worked tirelessly to end slavery. That was complete rubbish and a lack of understanding of history. This woman is a fool.Last week, Bachmann signed a pledge that basically said black people were better off during slave times because families were kept in tact. First of all, it is NEVER ok to be a slave. Secondly, here is where the lack of understanding history comes in, slave families were frequently broken up by sale of the youth to other slave owners. Bachmann is absolutely nuts and a racist. I almost never call someone a racist because I think it is a cheap shot and overused, but in this case, Bachmann is a racist.

Maybe I'm as drunk as you were when you wrote this (I'm really drunk right now), but this post is complete gibberish. Watch out for those black helicopters!!!!!!You have been made a fool of by tOSU BuckZip. That pill must be pretty hard to swallow. Poop happens.Tressel was a con man. Con men are successful not because they are good at running a con. They are good because people want to believe the con. (Don't let your kids read any further). A first or second grade kid knows it is impossible for a person to fly around the world and deliver toys to the entire world in one night, but they believe. They believe because they want to believe. tOSU fans wanted to believe the "God and family" nonsense Tressel was spewing. BuckZip was sucked in to it because he wanted to be sucked in. In defense of BuckZip, almost an entire state was sucked in. Now, they are lining up for an even bigger con man than Tressel....Urban Meyer (sp?). The guy had multiple problems in his short time at Florida, but he is the great white hope many from Ohio want to see. In reality, tOSU fans don't care if there are problems as long as the team wins. They will look past anything. That's fine, but they try to hold themselves above all other fans....In fact, they are worse.I'm not ashamed of believing in Santa when I was young. tOSU fans shouldn't feel guilty in believing in Tressel. He was the ultimate con man. Unfortunately, they aren't six years old....well, they believed in Tressel like they were six years old. tOSU fans must feel really stupid right now. They should.
