  1. Is this a running score over three games or is this an actual score for one game? Either could be true when it comes to the Akron/Miami rivalry.
  2. I didn't see the final score, but if this game was like past Miami/Akron games, I assume the Zips went up something like 21-16.
  3. I laughed a little when I saw this sentence. I wonder how many times over the years an Akron fan has said/posted this or something similar after an Akron vs Miami game.
  4. Could have been my brother.
  5. Without winning, it is little more than experimentation.
  6. 60 point loses to Kansas, Kansas State and Baylor are games to look forward to?
  7. No doubt, but he needs to take those tools and turn them into the most difficult part of the game.... winning. Improvement without winning is not enough.
  8. Temple will be a key indicator of how the Zips season will go. They were terrible last year and winning there is in the world of reality and should be expected. If they lose, they start out, yet again, 1-3.....sigh. 1-3 means they would have to perform better than expected to win six. A 1-3 start can easily turn into a 1-4 start with the wheels coming off the bus.
  9. I don't disagree he can improve. How much is the question. He's going into his fourth off season and fifth year. The time to take a major step forward was two years ago and I'm not confident the jump to 6 wins is in any QB after that amount of time.
  10. You should shop around for another bank.
  11. Just to be clear, I've never said this. P5 have nots will never leave P5 for G5. There is more money in failure at the P5 level than they can make at G5.
  12. I'm unimpressed. Remember, the TP is actually the Washout Portal. His career has been at best unremarkable while washing out at two different P5 schools. He'll have one more unremarkable year at BG and that will be that.
  13. I'd like this also but them protecting themselves is much more than a playoff. They need to separate from P5 as much as possible while not becoming FCS.
  14. I want everyone to have a good time as long as it doesn't impact my viewing of competitive and interesting sporting events.
  15. Or, you can do what the organizers of the event really want...place a live bet and keep watching garbage hoping to win a few bucks while guzzling Bud Lights.
  16. It could be made more interesting by reducing the number of teams allowed in March Madness and limiting the field to conference champions followed by only having a winning record in conference. The only thing interesting about the first two rounds of the ncaa tournament is watching the games in a bar while taking two afternoons off and getting loaded. The games aren't that interesting. Want to make it about basketball? Reduce the number of teams. Want to make it about getting drunk and gambling, expand the number of teams.
  17. I did not. My interest level in college football falls off quickly after January 1. So does my interest in the NFL regular season, but here we are. Normal, football loving fans are made miserable by seasons and games that are entirely too long. Degenerate gamblers and fantasy players are made happy. It is a type of decadence (the societal decay type) we seem to have to live through now. The college national championship game should be played on primetime New Years Day unless it is a Sunday. BTW, anyone else see this? It is a recommendation to expand March Madness to 90 teams. https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/adding-teams-to-march-madness-among-recommendations-by-ncaa-transformation-committee/ While some call it crazy (it is), once CBS waves some dollars in the faces of ADs and university presidents, it will probably come true in the next ten years. More people taking time off of work to gamble and get drunk off of the beers advertised during the games means more money for CBS and they will pass some along to the idiots who run college athletics.
  18. At least one of the two audience groups college football is now aiming at had a reason to stay up until the end of that miserable marathon.....degenerate gamblers. I'd love to see the ratings on the second half of that crap the ncaa shoveled into America's living rooms.
  19. They'd be better off working out or studying rather than watching this trash.
  20. Habit. You are correct. The MAC had a good season this year. Now they need to combine good football with playing games on days and at times that are attractive to people.
  21. Not a bad idea. If a game can be played in Idaho, why not Canton? It would be nice if the NFL put a cover over the stadium like the one in Los Angeles but they have already put a ton of money into the location.
  22. The Proenza hangover has been difficult to recover from. Too much growth, too fast and not considering changing state/regional demographics. While enrollment is down, that's a common story among Ohio public universities. I'm less concerned about quantity and more interested in quality but I don't know if that is being accomplished. Even OSU has had some bad years recently. I think Dr. Miller is doing a good job all things considered. There is no shame in being wrong about win predictions. Our job as fans is to be overly optimistic. I don't think fans realized how horrible the program was the 3-4 years prior to Joe. He took over a DIII team. Making the team as competitive as they were this year showed me the guy can get the team to a bowl game next season or maybe 5 wins. Probably 5 becausr the scheduling is so moronic. It's an easy league to get good in.
  23. Good post and I agree. I know it's hard to see, but we aren't that far away from a bowl and a bowl win.
  24. I watch almost no high school sports. What I do see makes me believe the post game free buffet at the local Pizza Hut is compensation enough for their "talents".
  25. It would be hard to find many people who believe Joe is a bad hire.
