ZippyAlum Posted September 16, 2008 Report Posted September 16, 2008 Ok, here's MY campaign.Dear Coach Moorhead, 1) Please don't abandon the running game. Even with the "golden boy" hurt you still have many good backs. At Syracuse when we were able to run the ball there was less pressure on Jac. If your 90th run up the middle doesn't work put in your fullback (who no longer exists apparently) to block. Tuzze was the #2 back after camp and now we never see him. I know he was hurt but he's back. (and no I'm not related to him) Army probably doesn't plan on seeing him either. 2) Find your tight end! (hmm, that sounds weird) Was Poindexter even at the BS game??? 3) Throw out of the backfield. I loved the play with Bruce catching some passes out of the backfield. How about a double back set where you throw to your rb or (heaven forbid) the fb? 4) Don't we ever sub during a series? It's like ok---Johnson is in for this series---it's his TURN. MIX IT UP! Keep them guessing. 5) Does Jac have broken legs that HE can't run the ball once in a while? I even saw Sanchez block on one play in a game not to be mentioned. Imagine that, a quarterback who is expected to do something besides hand off or drop back and pass.Dear Coach Fleming, 1) You know we're banged up on defense--sub, sub, sub. Keep these guys as fresh as you can. Play them all! Hell, some people are calling for you to put in one of the cheerleaders but I think that's taking it a little too far. 2) If you need guys on defense--keep them there. We have enough weapons on offense to get the job done and we're not as injured there. 3) Find a leader even if it has to be a walk-on. (that's for you buckZIP) 4) Just because we're in love with the pass don't think all the teams we play are. Protect against the run!Ok, now I feel better. Quote

It may not be pretty, but it could occasionally gain some good yardage.6) Try to teach Jac NOT to look at his primary as soon as the ball is snapped. Everyone in the stadium knows who he's going to throw to. I'm sure the opposition does as well. Look around a bit more.Coach Fleming,5) Have the CB's move up on the receivers a few yards. The 10 yard cushions consistently yield at least that.OK, there's my post for the week. Quote
Dr Z Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 5) Have the CB's move up on the receivers a few yards. The 10 yard cushions consistently yield at least that. They are there for a purpose, once the RB runs through the porous 6, the CB's have to come over to help the safety 10+ yards down field to get the drag tackle. That's our scheme, 3-3-5! Quote

Stunts create a deception. Deception is created in the 3-3-5 defense with blitzing. I don't like it either, but that's just the cards they are playing with. Quote
RACER Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 gp sorry about that.i should have been more clear.you can twist your lineman and linebackers.the lineman can slant down, and the linebacker goes the other way.i know it's alott more difficult in a 3-3-5.i just would like to see something different from our d-line than the straight ahead approach.
